i would give zero stars if i could because they rip off their customers quietly. i ate here with a party of 4 and was shocked the bill was higher then expected. after asking for the receipt we saw that they charged 12 percent tip on 4 people. when i brought it to their attention, immediately they said «we mentioned it you but you must’ve misunderstood us» and quickly walked away. total bs! tables around us soon realized it happened to their bill too. smart scheme to get double tip money. so many people fight over their friends to pay the bill and that results in no one really checking the bill and paying double tip. stay away! if they are shady about how they charge their customers i wonder what other corners they cut in food preparation.

The service here is amazing for a small Asian restaurant! I always order the pork kidney noodle soup and it’s consistently delicious! I’ve had a taste of their other flavors and it’s also tasty too. I recommend fried fish balls for snacks!

Tried this restaurant for the first time with my parents and it was pretty good. I am used to going to the Kim Ky on San Gabriel Blvd. I have to say that one is much better. The portions here are small and decently priced, but nothing compares to the other Kim Ky. The service here is great. It is located in the Wendy’s plaza on Valley Blvd.

My friend sent me an article about restaurants that were influenced by the Chaur Jou (Chiu-​Chow, Teo-​Chew) culture. Being that I’m Chiu-​Chow, Kim Kee was one of them and it’s close to where I live. Being Chiu-​Chow, I had to pay this restaurant a visit.
So, my boyfriend and our friend decided to come here on a Sunday. This restaurant is tiny, so there was a wait, of course. There is a clipboard near the door where we put the number in our party next to a number. Remember that number, because that’s what they’ll call. Anyway, we waited about 10 minutes before being seated. My friend wanted to know what is in the beef variety soup. Our waitress informed him that it’s slices of beef as well as beef kidney. She hinted that he won’t like it because there are beef kidney and other innards, which she assumed that he doesn’t eat because he’s Caucasian. She persuaded him to order something else.
Since this is the first time here for us, we all ordered the House Special, but mine was with egg noodle. Some lady, possibly the owner, came to our table and told us that the House Special has a piece of kidney, if that’s ok with us. We said that was fine. We’re guessing that she did that because there was a Mexican and a Caucasian at our table. I guess maybe not too many non-​Asians order kidney. What’s also funny was that we noticed our place setting came with two forks, but there were three at our table. I guess they assumed that I’m the only one who knows how to use chopsticks. Funny, because they hold their chopsticks way better than me.
Our food came very fast. We all enjoyed the meal. The serving was decent size. Big enough to make me full, not too big that I feel like exploding. They gave me a good amount of fish balls, three shrimp, lots of meat, but only one piece of kidney. In the future, I’d ask them if they can substitute the fish balls or meat for another piece of kidney. The soup was very flavorful as well. I’d definitely come back here again.

My BF and I are ALWAYS craving the pork kidneys with ginger soy sauce. You will not regret it! My favorite dish is the chao fun with seafood and gravy! The flat noodles are the best part, topped with the gravy sauce! My boyfriend on the other hand orders the sate noodles and tends to add extra date to his noodles! I’m drooling while writing this review! Recommended this to all my friends and family and they love it!

This is a great place to stop in for lunch. Quick service and very affordable. This time around I had the beef variety w/​big egg noodle in soup. Mmmmm it was so good! The broth was delicious! I added some of the spicy red sauce they have in the little round containers on the table and it really enhanced the great broth. The service, as usual, is quick. They really have good table turnover rates! Lol Be prepared to order quickly because someone will come to take your order shortly after you sit down. The food also comes out very quick! The staff is friendly, but there MIGHT be some communication difficulties if you’re speaking/​ordering in English. I definitely will return. I love their soup broth!

The hu tieu dac biet is great. Hu tieu is my favorite of the Viet noodle soups and Kim Kee’s rendition is pretty spot on. I wish it had some pork cracklings though. You might wait a while to get seated but the food comes out super fast.

Ordered the beef brisket noodles. Service is fast, many noodles are less than $ 7.
On the menu picture, the brisket was supposed to be served on the side. However, when the noodles came, the brisket was in the same bowl as the noodles, and the color of the brisket sauce was a tint of orange… what? It looks a bit suspicious…
Anyway, the brisket is fine, the noodle is fine. The seasoning of the sauce though needs much much improvement. There’s not much of «fragrant» to it.

Even though I always make fun of my parents for always wanting to eat some type of noodle, I secretly love coming here. This place makes, in my opinion, one of the best noodle soups around. Their sister shop is over in MPK between McPherrin and Ynez on Garvey but this place is more convenient for me and the menu is the same.
Located in the Valley Supermarket plaza, it is nestled between a bunch of other Asian restaurants but you will be able to find this one because if you came during lunch, you will see the crowd of people waiting outside. With only about 15 – 20 tables, the place is pretty small. As for the food, I love the dry egg noodles and the combo of egg noodles and vermicelli. You can choose from the set combination of meats but you can always ask the server to customize the noodle dish to your liking with what meats you want. I personally enjoy their fish dumplings. It is almost like a wonton but with fish filling and with a skin that reminds almost like a dumpling I would get at dim sum. The makes the noodles dishes are the satay chili sauce and the picked chilies that are located on every table. Add a dollop of the satay sauce and the couple of the chilies and and you have yourself a hearty and flavorful bowl of noodles that will set you back around $ 7-​$ 9. The servers are extremely friendly and willing to get you what you need. The owner is also a hoot when she is around. Always very cordial and a friend to everyone in the restaurant. If you want something different, they also have rice dishes, fried rice cakes, appetizer dishes, and some desserts. One appetizer that seems popular are the plate full of kidneys with green onions and soy sauce. Not my cup of tea but my parents love this as well.
You gotta give this place a chance if you haven’t already. There is stiff competition with others like this restaurant in the area but I think this one and the one in MPK are still better than the others.

Place is smaller than the others but what is there not to like about their noodle? You get the option of their rice noodle or egg noodle with kidneys, meat and shrimp and/​or fish ball. You can order the noodles dry or with soup. My usual is that and kidneys on the side with turnip cake. Everytime I go, those are my usual plates. I can never get sick of ordering that same combination because of the taste. The best thing that goes with the noodles is the spice sauce they have which they do give you if you order it to-​go but if you want more and more which I always do, it’s better to sit in and eat.
If you come during lunch, be prepared to wait as the wait could be long since a lot of people eat here and it’s not that big of a place. Parking is plenty but when the plaza gets full, you’ll need to park far. I have not had a problem though with parking here.

This location stays open later compared to the other Kim Kees.
Great place to get Chiuchow noodles.

Kim Kee isn’t a bad catch-​all place, if you just want some Chinese food that isn’t too pricey. Mother T. said that my aunt mentioned about this place, and it’s pretty good for the price.
Both times that I went, the place was packed; lots of tables in a small enclosed area, yet people are still willing to elbow a stranger to get some good food. Lucky for me, both times we managed a table that’s close against a wall, meaning a bit more comfort.
Both times, I got a taste of their XO Barbecue sauce noodles. Mother T wasn’t a big fan because of the spiciness it packs, but being the daring Unilocaler I am, I didn’t mind the extra heat. And they don’t skimp on the sauce at all; it’s ladled onto the noddles, so no matter which bite you take, first or last, you will get some of the sauce.
This place is becoming a favorite of mine, and probably will be returning back here every so often, when I can’t decide on what to eat.

If you’re ever craving for some food that takes just like homemade cooking, then I recommend this place! Since I live out here in the area, sometimes I feel nostalgic for my mom’s home cooking so I decided to try this place out.
We ordered:
1. Filet cube beef with tomato fried rice: The rice was very flavorful, and it wasn’t dry. I liked the cube beef as well. Seasonings were great. Portion size is great, expect leftovers! (⁵⁄₅)
2. Daikon radish cake with egg: This is a yummy one. I love radish cakes and I love eggs, so put them together and you have a match made in heaven! (⁵⁄₅)
Overall, the prices here are great. Food tastes delicious. Service is friendly. Not sure if they accept credit cards since we paid in cash. Plenty of parking. Will definitely come here again!

I’m confused as to why the seafood w/​egg noodle soup would have pork in it when it is on the menu as a «Seafood w/​Egg Noodle».
Bae got the seafood w/​PORK SECRETLY INCLUDED egg noodle soup and the broth was super oily and the fish in it tasted kinda funky. He described it as «too fishy», but he’s also a gringo so you can take that into consideration if you choose to.
My soup was just ok tho, so I took a picture on my phone that no one has ever seen because just ok soup does not exactly qualify as instagram-​worthy but I suppose it is Unilocal-​worthy.
We only paid like $ 15 for 2 people and my soup had a cool shrimp embedded into a tortilla chip if ur into freaky shit like that

Pretty good vietnamese/​chinese noodle place! It took over the old Rainbow Noodle and has been here for about two years or so now. Service is excellent and their food is pretty consistent. I really like their House Special Noodle Soup but please hold the kidney! Service is really good here and they are super friendly.
Some items I would recommend .
House special noodle soup — soup is perfect, not too salty and not MSG overload. I usually get it with medium sized rice noodle
Hainan chicken rice — chicken tastes fresh and it isn’t chewy, rice is flavorful and portion is good
Green onion chive cake — tastes a little bit chewy and has a good vietnamese fish sauce dipping sauce. green onion flavor isn’t overpowering
Pan fried rice cake — this is a great appetizer and it also comes with a vinegar based dipping sauce, definitely something different!

Great spot to grab breakfast. Some Chiu chow noodles or dish to start your day? Yassssss
I ordered the traditional Chiu chow noodle bowl. It was so filling for a great price.
The meat was tender and the noddles were soft. What more can you ask for?

Unappealing from the outside. Good food on the inside.
The food served here is similar to what you would get at a Cantonese-​style restaurant but not as rich in flavor (which isn’t better or worse). It’s just a different kind of food that I’m not used to but am glad I tried it. The egg noodle soup was very good and so was the filet mignon with mac n cheese (weird combo). The service was surprisingly friendly and the price was very affordable (less than $ 7 for the noodle).
Will definitely be back to try other items.

I usually go to the Kim Ky in SG whenever I crave for egg noodles. But that place always has a line and they close early at 6:30 pm. Why would anyone close a restaurant when ppl start have dinner at 6:30 pm.
Anyways, I decided to check this place out since it’s 8 pm and I was craving for egg noodles. I didn’t have much expectations for this place but I was quite impressed. The place is cleaner, newer furniture, and the staff was friendly. Didn’t have to wait and the staff were efficient. They greeted you right away, served your beverages afterwards, then take your order right away. The food also comes out hot and the portions are a good size. We were in and out in less than 30 mins. I don’t like to sit long after a meal and I get inpatient if I’m at a restaurant too long. So 30 mins is impressive for me too.
I ordered the dry wonton noodles ($ 6.97) with soup on the side. The dry noodles was mixed with shredded ground pork, green onions, wontons, and dry fried onions. Yummo!!! Love it! The dish had a good amount of flavor without the oily taste! I really enjoyed my dish and will come back for more. I have a new egg noodle café and it’s close to my house too. I will be coming back for more.

I don’t know why I’ve never been a patron at any Kim Kee locations. I’m glad I stopped by this past weekend, though! I woke up craving some dried egg noodles but I was very particular about the sauce. I only know of one place that serves their dried noodles with a sauce (some type of sweet soy sesame sauce) but I really didn’t want to go there because their menu is limited and I didn’t want to be selfish. Anyway, most noodle houses serve their dried noodles… plain and dry. I read up on a few reviews about how great the dried noodles were here so I decided to pay them a visit.
I was expecting a long wait since there are only about 12 tables inside and each table seats 4. The waiting list was not that long. I think there were only 3 parties ahead of me and it took about 10 minutes to get seated. I noticed while I was seated that their turnaround was exceptionally quick. You get menus right when you sit down, they return fairly quickly to take your order, the food comes out almost instantaneously as if there was some assembly line already preparing your order as the server takes it down, the check comes right when you make eye contact with any server, and the clean up process is commendable. As other Unilocalers have mentioned, you’re in and out in about 30minutes (and most of that time is spent enjoying your food).
I ordered the kidney plate to share. It’s pretty impressive. The kidneys are blanched perfectly so they’re not tough and extra silky smooth. Great texture. It’s a very generous portion and they’re even more generous about the sauce and toppings. There’s lettuce underneath with the incredible soy sesame sauce and it’s topped with a heap of scallion and ginger. $ 8.95 and well worth it.
My guest ordered fish fillet egg noodles in soup. I was told the broth was not as flavorful as other popular places in the area but the fillet were perfect. I ordered the same but dry. There was no fishy smell or taste. The fillets were flaky but did not break apart in the dish. I really enjoyed my dry egg noodles mainly because of that crack satay sauce available at the table. I scooped a few spoonfuls into my bowl and mixed it all up. AMAZING!
My new go-​to for egg noodles!
