Tina did a fantastic job on me (both the make up and the hair) for an end of year party of my school! She was really nice, patient, professional, and enthusiastic! Thanks to her, I had an amazing time at the party. She also recommended some nice primers to me when I asked her. Really helpful! I would like to have Tina do my hair and makeup again when I graduate next year!

I had a private makeup lesson for two hours with Tina. It was so fun, I learned a lot! She does one side, explains thoroughly, and then lets me do the other side. She gave me lots of tips, what makeup works for my skin, where to get makeup, the different types of brush, and other useful information. After the session, I feel more confident applying my own makeup and inspired to practice and get better at it. And I get to go out and take pics after too, because the makeup turned out really nice. Thank you, Tina! :)

Tina is great! She did the make up and hair for my daughter for her senior prom. Everyone was complimenting how gorgeous my daughter is. Tina has a wonderful personality, punctual and best of all she goes to you. I’ve also post some pictures of her work. My daughter would hire Tina again for her graduation make up.

Booked Tina for a Friday 6am make-​up session on April 1^st for my impromptu wedding elopement with just one weeks notice. Thankfully Friday’s are not big wedding days. She showed up at my house on-​time and had me picture ready with her hairstylist on time for my ceremony knowing I was pressed for time. I was reluctant to try airbrush for the first time but decided to trust her suggestion. It did feel a lot heavier than the blush, mascara and tinted lip balm I am used to wearing. But it was the right choice because it held together for a 8:30 am ceremony, 10am flight, 3pm photo shoot in the desert in Sedona Az and still looked good when we checked into our hotel room at 9pm. For makeup to hold for 12+ hours is quite impressive. It made for some great pics. My hair held together for a sight seeing trip with quick sprits of dry shampoo.
Tip: just remember to have some good makeup remover at hand when it’s time to wash it off!

Tina’s talented and super sweet! I found Tina on Unilocal.After reading her glowing reviews and seeing the pictures, I decided to reach out to her for an event that I was attending.
Booking/​Communication: The process was easy. She responds quickly and is easy to work with in terms of service and payment options. She will travel to your home at no charge if you are near Alhambra or you can meet her in South Pasadena.
Pricing: Prices seem to be comparable to the area and probably a bit better considering she’ll come to you if you’re in or near Alhambra.
Make-​up: I opted for make-​up only. She also offers airbrushing and simple hairstyles. She asked good questions about the look I’m going for and continued to ask questions throughout about my preferences. Honestly, even if you don’t know, she’ll make you look good.
I wanted something a bit more than natural but I didn’t want to look overly done. Most importantly, I wanted my EYES to look good. I have hooded eyes and I struggle to make them look good with eyeshadows. I also asked for a bit of contouring.
She is very PRECISE in her application. I can’t believe the straightness of the brows and eyeliner she achieved.
She puts something on your face and stands back to get a feel for the whole look. She does this repeatedly to make sure she’s getting it right.
She’s willing to make adjustments based on your feedback. We tried a couple of lipstick shades before we got it right (I eventually went for a beautiful red). My brows were done a bit thicker than I liked so she fixed that. I almost asked her to make them even thinner but she suggested to leave them. Then, when I saw the AFTER picture, she was totally right. The brows were perfect given that I was going to an event. I can’t believe how good the make-​up looked. It was natural but not too natural. My eyes popped. My face was subtly contoured. Happy customer here =) I will say that getting your make-​up done will always result in more make-​up than you’re used to… even for a natural look. But, you need that level of make-​up to ensure that it shows in pictures.
Tina’s also really fun to talk to and has MUSIC on in the background. She’ll give you various tips and you’ll just have fun chatting the whole time. Can’t wait for my next event so I can get my face done again!

Tina was my make-​up artist for my engagement photos in March and wedding in November. She was so easy to contact and schedule an appointment with for my engagement pictures. Tina is very punctual, which is great for a wedding vendor, and she is so down to earth and easy to talk to! After that initial consultation, I knew I wanted her for my wedding day. I don’t normally wear make-​up on a daily basis so I was hesitant about wearing too much make-​up that I would look completely different or be uncomfortable with fake eyelashes on my face. The make-​up was very natural and easy to wear all day! It didn’t bother me and lasted the whole day.
I had a bridal party of 6 plus my mom and she and her assistant, Melanie, did an awesome job on everyone! All the girls have different make-​up levels, some wear more often than others, but they were all happy with the way they looked and the service. I would recommend Tina to anyone looking for make-​up services for any event!

Tina did my makeup for my wedding in July and she did a flawless job! I loved my makeup and so did everyone else!
It should’ve been a hot day in July, but instead it decided to rain out of all the days!!! On a good note, my makeup lasted all day!

My makeup session with Tina was a very pleasant experience!
I read all the awesome reviews on Unilocal and decided to give Tina a try for a wedding event I was attending. Not only is Tina professional, she is easy to talk to and very friendly. Her positive attitude brightened up my morning during our 2 hour hair and makeup session. The time passed by quickly and before I knew it, my makeup and hair was done!
On a daily basis, I am not someone who wears much makeup, if at all. But, Tina was able to give me a «natural» look without feeling like so much makeup is on my face.
Her false eyelash application was also one of the most non-​irritating experiences I have had. The lashes lasted all day and night and wasn’t too heavy.
My hair and makeup lasted through the entire evening battling sun and wind without needing any touch-​ups. The makeup removal process was also very easy. I used an oil based makeup remover, some makeup removing towelettes and everything came off. Next day, no skin irritation at all. I loved the entire experience and Tina’s very professional hair and makeup skills.

Tina accommodated my VERY last minute make-​up session request. She responded so quickly and set me up with one of her senior artists — Melanie.
Melanie showed up right on time and asked me what I wanted. I showed her a few pictures, described the event and my dress and she went to work.
After an hour, I was presented with a mirror and I was like WHOA. Dramatic lashes, contouring, mega blingy eyeshadow, neutral lip which is what I wanted because I wanted my eyes to pop. Melanie nailed it.
Make-​up lasted through the LA autumnal heatwave and looked great when photographed. I am so pleased with Tina and Melanie’s services.

I’ve met Tina in high school and found out she was a make up professional. I loved the make up she did on all the beautiful girls with this beautiful natural glow, I just had to try it for myself! I wasn’t getting married or anything, but my two good Friends were. I just wanted to get all glammed up!
It was easy to schedule a time with Tina. She sent an email confirmation and instructions to prepare myself for her to come over. Tina is very professional and seriously knows what she’s doing. I love the air brush look as it makes your skin look so flawless! My makeup looked natural and flirty!
I didn’t know she also did hair but she was able to do a nice updo for my medium length hair with the limited hair pins and tools I had. She knows how to work with what she has and does such a great job!
I totally recommend her for weddings or even just to get glammed up for a special event! Thank you Tina!

I wanted to look my best as a bridesmaid, and I knew I had to wear long-​lasting makeup to withstand the outdoor wedding ceremony on one of the hottest days of 2015 all the way to the evening reception.
Tina helped me look like I actually had 8 hours of sleep, and the makeup was flawless. She is very personable and sweet. I streamed The Walking Dead on Netflix to keep myself awake while Tina and her hair stylist Lily worked their magic. We had quite a fun conversation throughout the session. Tina is not only a talented makeup artist, but she is also very accommodating and understanding. Her prices are reasonable as well.
I highly recommend Tina for your special occasion. You will love the way you look for the entire day and night.

This review is way overdue, but Tina deserves a 5-​star review :) She was very reliable, skillful, and understanding. She understood your face and style and work through it perfectly! I went looking for a makeup artist literally two weeks before the wedding I was a bridesmaid in. I had never gotten my makeup professionally done before, and I waited rather last minute because I thought I’d just wing it myself. I’m so glad I didn’t! The day was eventful enough without me having to also worry about my makeup!
Tina was super nice and sweet throughout the entire experience, from the initial inquiry about her availability all the way through the actual makeup session. Again, I’ve never had anyone else do my makeup before, so I was taking quite a gamble for such an important day, but Tina worked her magic! We chatted through the entire session, and I felt so comfortable in her hands. I do have to admit, though I was super pleased with the makeup outcome, I did add a bit more eyeliner myself afterwards, and took away some of the gloss on my lips, because I’m used to my makeup being a certain way and I didn’t want to look THAT different for the wedding. I’m sure those details could’ve been worked out with Tina if I had mentioned them to her, but she had already spent more than the one hour with me and I didn’t want to keep her longer!
Overall, if you’re looking for someone to do your makeup, who not only has amazing skills but also a super friendly personality, Tina is your person. If I ever need makeup done professionally for an occasion in the future, I’m definitely booking her again :).

I returned to Tina for a makeup lesson and it was definitely worth it! I have uneven eyelids with hoods and creases and a triple eyelid (!) so I knew I needed help. Tina was super helpful and answered all my questions clearly and concisely. She was very patient and easy to talk to. I learned how to do a new look that I can’t wait to try, and Tina gave a lot of useful tips on applying makeup.
Makeup tutorials on YouTube don’t substitute for having a private, one-​on-​one lesson with a makeup expert who has years of experience like Tina :). She gave me great advice that was customized to my eye shape and face shape, and helped me learn how to properly do my brows and eyeshadow.

I recently got the chance to be made up by the lovely Tina Tom for my November 22^nd wedding and I was super happy with the results. She was very professional and accommodating. I initially setup an appointment for a trial about two weeks before my wedding because I wasn’t able to book my original person and Tina was kind enough to still take me on.
When she arrived for the trial, she was very knowledgeable about her trade and made me feel comfortable to ask questions and even make suggestions as to what I liked and what I wanted to change. Truly, she cares about how her clients feel about the work and makes them feel beautiful! Needless to say, I immediately booked her for my bridal makeup as well as my sister’s and my mother’s for the wedding.
On the day of the wedding, she arrived punctual as usual and my made mom, who normally is a nervous wreck & does not think she’s pretty, look absolutely beautiful. It’s been years since I’ve seen my mom dolled up. My sister also looked gorgeous and was very happy with the natural look Tina applied. My aunt, who was visiting from Canada for the wedding, was so impressed, that she asked if Tina could do her makeup as well. Again, she did not have to extend her services at such a late notice since she still had another wedding to do, yet she was very gracious and did my aunt’s makeup as well.
I highly recommend Tina! She truly embodies what it means to be a professional makeup artist. She does an amazing job and I look forward to working with her again soon.

Wow! Wow! Just got my face beautified by the very lovely and talented Tina Tom. When it comes to makeup I am at a total lost — the most I can do is put on lip gloss and mascara and sometimes in hope that doesn’t smeared all over.
Tina was very good at not only applying and bringing out my features but also she gave me some very good tips. She made sure I was comfortable and during the whole process asked me if I had any questions.
Since I don’t know how to apply makeup, I usually pay others to do it and I have had some very good experience and some bad ones and this one definitely was a great experience. She’s friendly, energetic and has a great personality so it makes the time that she’s putting on makeup doesn’t seem so dull and boring but quite fun. I have had makeup artist not say very much during the 30 – 45 minutes they are applying makeup which made it pretty awkward — that or they just didn’t do a good job for like $ 100+. Tina’s prices are fair — actually pretty good deal since the ones I have had before charged well over 100+ for just party makeup and not even super great at times. She really takes her time so the quality is very good.
A few of the things I really liked was how she filled in my brows and she made my skin pretty flawless (since I have a lot of marks and acne). She was also able to make my eyes really pop and the contouring of my nose and face was great.
I would definitely hire her again in the future and recommend her for any makeup sessions and lessons.

Don’t get me wrong I can put myself together but it’s always better and more fun when someone else does it for you! She took the time to come over to my house and had all the essentials needed for a makeup session. I thought it was awesome that she had the professional chair and all the things to beautify me!
She didn’t rush and I appreciate that she asked me how I wanted to look for this evening. I did leave it up to her and I was very blown away by her skills! Along the way, I learned a few tips on foundation, brows and hair! Overall, I’m super happy with how I looked tonight! I will definitely be calling again and recommend her to my friends as well!!!
