Great service, enough tables for everyone and definitely not stingy with their vegetables. I always order phở here and their broken rice. You’ll always leave with a full stomach and satisfied. The only phở place I go to now :) They give alot of soup for a bowl of phở so let them know not to put too much if you’re going to add other shit into your bowl like vegetables.

This place is near and dear to my heart. I grew up in Alhambra and ate here regularly in my teenage years, moved away for college and grad school and never found another phở restaurant quite like it. Now that I’ve moved back home, I eat here at least once or twice a week. My boyfriend and I default to this place whenever we’re not sure what to eat. I alternate between the phở dac biet and the bun bo hue, with a side of iced coffee or lemon soda. I hardly venture off to other items on the menu, because well, when I come here I want something familiar and something I know is good. And damn, it’s always good. Food comes out fast, service is great.

The Phở here is so fresh, so good, it’s addictive. Exceptional, and among the best in LA region. In fact, I’ve not had better, anywhere. They have a full menu of different dishes, but who cares when they’re serving Phở like this.

It’s been 8 years since my last review for New Noodle City, since then, I’ve been to pretty much all the popular phở places in the 626. Consistently, New Noodle City has ranked #1 for me. I almost always order #18 Phở Tai, phở with rare beef, or #18A Phở Tai Bo Bien, phở with rare beef and beef balls. The phở broth is clean tasting and does not have too much MSG. Anyone who knows me knows I’m sensitive to MSG. At other phở places, I have had severe reactions due to the excessive amount of MSG that they put in the broth. Also, love their spring rolls, shrimp or pork skin, both are fabulous. My favorite drink is Soda Chanh. Parking can sometimes be a pain but there are some spots in the back parking lot and in the front, there is street parking. TL;DR: Best phở in the 626IMO. Clean broth, easy on the MSG, great on a cold day or if you are hungover.

I’ve been here so many times and have yet to review this place for some reason. I love this place cuz I’m always up early craving Phở. I always put for Phở tai bo vien(Phở with rare steak and beef balls). Total comes out to about $ 8 excluding tip. Service is always one point. They always know what I’m going to order and Phở comes out within 5 minutes. So it’s great if you’re on the go. Make sure you come before the lunch rush though because it gets CROWDED. Parking can be found on the street. I park in the back also even though it says momo bakery and cha cha chili cuz I’m a rebel. Hehe

It’s average Phở. My gf really liked coming here when they first opened, but the quality of the soup has fallen off pretty dramatically since then. The broth flavor is good but not great, but the brisket has gotten to the point where im literally just getting slices of fat. Like, 100% fat. No beef. This has happened a couple times in a row now over the past month and its hard to give the place anything better than a passing grade at this point. there are better options in the general area.

My parents wanted to come here because they like the broth… And noodle city was closed. But after our experience, it is unlikely we will return. First, they seated us in the corner. Already I knew the experience would be subpar: if you’re in the corner, you get forgotten! Then, they didn’t bring out our drinks. My dad had to remind them twice before they finally came out(we were almost done eating when they brought it out.) The tea was very watered down: my mother described it as «colored water.» Finally! The last straw was when the two tables that came in after us received their drinks AND food first. Like really? We were done at that point. Parking was bad, service was awful and the prices weren’t favorable. With so many other places that serve phở, there is no reason for us to return. Two stars for the broth. :/

Affordable, quick, and delicious. This is my favorite phở spot, maybe because I’ve been coming here for so long it feels like home. Or maybe because it’s just plain tasty? Try not to park in the back, the parking lot is tight.

I have been here twice and had phở both times. My first time was before work. Note that they actually opened at 7 the day I went, not 7:30 as Unilocal listed. I had the small phở that time, which was just the right amount before work. My second time was on a Sunday morning around 10:30. We did not have to wait for a party of 6. This time I felt ambitious and got the large phở(rare and well done brisket). Delicious since it was a cold day, but way too large for me to finish. Ate about half. Note there is parking in the back. Go up 7th street and there is an one way alley you can drive into for some parking spots. Great place for phở!

Honestly don’t understand why they have 3.5 stars, This has been the best phở place i’ve been to in a long time. The rare steak phở is really tender and not gamey. They also serve legit brewed thai tea here. Prices are normal. About $ 7 – 8 a bowl

This phở place is perfect! Parking is simple, staff is friendly on most days, they take credit cards unlike other Viet joints, it’s clean, and best of all they are kid friendly! They even bring out a small bowl with scissors so I cut down the noodles for my boy! I can’t ask for more than that. Plus, my wife even likes this place and she doesn’t like phở at all! Tip: you can ask for the large, fat phở noodles with no extra charge.

I’ve been coming here on and off over the years mostly for take out since it’s the closest phò restaurant near my house. Food has always been decent but as of lately more on the disappointing side seems like they’ve added way more MSG to their soup base then they used to(and why are the noodles always in this huge ball that takes forever to untangle even while in the soup) however it does somewhat satisfy my phò cravings. As for service not much to say other than they always have my order ready within minutes for pick up whenever I call in. Also although, I’m not a dine in customer I can’t help but notice while looking around that the place seemed a little flithy and the floors were sticky which is not good. I wished there as another phò place with better quality soup nearby that i could order take out from or even eat at but for now this will have to do.

This place disappointed me. It had the most underwhelming bun rieu I’ve ever tried. It was not as flavorful as I’m used to. The Tofu tasted a bit sour, like it was starting to go bad. The noodles were good. The seafood balls were okay. They had good flavor, but they weren’t very dense, and there were only three. Their water also tastes funny. I question the cleanliness of restaurants with funky tasting water.

«IT’S GOODENOUGH» Verdict: Might not the best phở in town, but for sure, its as good as it gets for the price and portions you get at this phở joint. Food: Phở is consistently good. The noodles are never soggy nor raw. The soup is rich and always flavorful. My only complaint is that on some occasions the soul has too much oil. The meat portions for each bowl is more than enough for an average person. Other dishes on are great too like the eggrolls and rish dishes. But I wouldn’t get the spring rolls, they’re small and aren’t jammed pack with veges like other Vietnamese Restaurants. Drinks: Always ask for water, you’ll need it. The amount of Salt and MSG in the food will make you die of thirst, but don’t let this deter you from the food. Its delicious for sure. If you like sweets try ordering the 3 color drink or their strawberry milk drink thingy(i just call it the«red one» and they know what’s up). These two drinks are probably the best desert drinks in town. Customer Service: Quick and Fast. The workers aren’t really talkative unless you speak their native language, «Cantonese or Vietnamese.» But you wouldn’t want that cause things will start to get seriously loud with unnecessary fake laughs. Value: Nothing exceeds $ 10. The last time i went phở was still $ 6. As cheap as it gets. Tip: Don’t be afraid to try other things on the menu besides phở. I tried the chicken curry vermicelli once and it did not disappoint at all. My theory goes like this«IFPHOISNOTNUMBER1ONTHEMENUTHENTHEPLACEISNOTAUTHENTIC» and then you’ll know something is up. This place passed the test!

I have been eating at this restaurant since I was a little kid and I normally order phở most of the time, sometimes mixing the ingredients, but still staying with phở. Occasionally, I would order a rice dish and some appetizers such as spring rolls or egg rolls. Because I’ve been coming to this restaurant for so long, it is basically like quick comfort food for me. When ordering phở(comes in medium or large), it takes a few minutes for it to come out. Talk about speedy delivery. The phở bowls are always delicious, at least to me they are. But if you can’t finish it and plan on taking it home for leftovers, it does not tastes as good and the noodles looks like it has been disintegrated into the broth. The spring rolls and egg rolls are usually good, but the egg rolls can tend to come out a little bit oily. I just dab the egg rolls in a couple napkins before eating them. It doesn’t bother me too much. Today, I went out of my comfort zone and ordered something different from the menu, only because I was craving pork blood at the time. I ordered #36. When I received my order, my dad took my bowl away. Why? It was full of grease and oil on the top. He spent a couple of minutes just scooping it all out for me. I didn’t realize it until my dad showed me the oil in a separate bowl. My stomach got a little bit upset. I also asked for chili oil paste and that sauce even tasted old. For as long as this restaurant has been here, they shouldn’t let things like this slide.

Asked around for a good authentic Phở place and my daughter & her friend recommended this place. Daughter and I stopped by here for lunch on a Monday. There’s street parking up front, but they have a little lot behind the place(spots are tight, but there is a door in the back to get inside). Plus, there’s parking on side streets. Place was busy, but we got a table right away. We were brought water, but also ordered a couple of sodas. We started with the shrimp summer rolls, filled with cooked shrimp, rice noodles, veggies & served with a peanut sauce. This was good. I ordered the beef phở with thin noodles. The garnishes of Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapenos were fresh. However, I did not think the broth was flavorful enough, but it was a large portion. Fast service, but maybe I wasn’t lucky with my broth.

It’s never a smart thing to eat phở in 91 degree weather. But being the stubborn person I am, I really wanted to try this Vietnamese restaurant after passing by it numerous times in the past few months. I gotten sick of eating phở at Noodle City in Monterey Park, and wanted to try a new noodle joint. The parking situation here at New Noodle City is pretty dicey. There’s street parking in front of the restaurant, but usually it is all packed unless you get lucky with a vacant spot. That then leaves you with the private lot in the back where it’s shared with other neighboring businesses. NNC only has six VERYSMALL parking spots in the back, whereas the other businesses have the majority of the parking spaces(liable for towing). I chose to park in one of MoMo’s spots because there were no available NNC spots; thank god my truck didn’t get towed. They sure don’t mess around with portion sizes here. The large bowls of phở are HUGE. For foodies like me, they sure compact a lot of rice noodles and an abundant amount of meat toppings into a bowl for under $ 8. The round steak, flank steak and brisket taste great! The only gripe I have with the phở is that the broth is a little bit on the heavy side; i think they use a lot of MSG. They could afford to take a little bit off the top and their soup would still taste excellent. I love the fact that their garnish plate of thai basil, pepper and bean sprouts are very fresh, perhaps some of the freshest I have seen among Vietnamese restaurants. Service is so-so here. They seat you quickly and take your order almost immediately. They will give you complimentary cups of water too, just don’t expect them to refill it at free will. For some reason, they don’t give you a bill at the end of your meal. You are expected to go up to the cashier and pay for your meal. With a few tweaks in their service compartment, they are definitely worthy of a four star Unilocal rating!

Come here almost everytime I am in LA, it’s almost as if was a ritual thing. I always get the Phở #1(PHOĐACBIETXELUA). Overall it is OK but the soup base can be inconsistent. To finish of the meal, I will order the Vietnamese style drip coffee.
