There used to be a waitress who would mingle with the customers. Now, there’s a man who does not speak a lick of English. Still, he serves the food as quickly as possible and is attentive when you can get his attention. The plates are the same size as before but the meat sitting on the plates are thinner. Not sure if it has changed ownership as the receipts now say«shabu shabu best». Still an okay place to try if you’re really craving some hot pot. Price-wise, $ 66.30 for 2 beef plates, 1 chicken, and 1 seafood with standard vegetables, 2 passion fruit drinks, and 17-up.

Just try last night. It was ok, the service was great. the place was ok clean. The hotpot is alright. The price is not cheap. The one thing I like it is not many people, so I felt comfortable and relax to have my dinner. Among all the hotpot place in my lists, this one is somewhere ranking 4th or 5th place. It is good for couple to 4 people. The waitress was nice and enjoying talking with guests. Btw, the green honey tea was little bit sweeter for me.

We don’t often go out for hot pot or shabu-shabu but we enjoyed eating here. Each person gets their own pot and a «complimentary» sampler plate that includes vegetables, straw mushrooms, glass noodle, corn, shrimp, clam, quail egg, fish ball, sweet potato, taro, squash, etc. I like it that they give you a plate of all the little things so you don’t have to sit there and try to order 10 different sides just so you can have a little of everything. You just have to order your choice of meat. We ordered a plate of chicken, which was $ 12.99, and premium beef, which was $ 14.99. It turns out they were having a promotion where you get a free dish if your total is over $ 25 so we got a plate of fish fillets as well. The chicken and beef were very thinly sliced. The fish and broth were quite tasty after we cooked everything. They also gave us a complimentary small bowl of mung bean for dessert.

No wait, greeted by friendly staff, they served our veggie plate as soon as we got seated. They offer several flavors, but their«plain» was good enough. Their veggie plate had shrimp, crab meat, a fish ball, which you wouldn’t get anywhere else. Within that minute or two, after telling them what kind of meat you want, they bring it to you. And the food’s good too, of course. I’m definitely gonna be one of their regulars! :)

Once upon a time, my mother and I wanted to have hot pot that wasn’t as crazy as Jazz Cat. We found the Quick Shabushabu on Valley in this plaza(fyi…the parking usually is tight even though it’s a plaza parking lot). We love going there on windy/rainy days now. The food is always good IMO. I am a HUGE lamb meat fan, and I ALWAYS order lamb when we go there. So far, it hasn’t disappointed me. The service isn’t bad if there aren’t a lot of people. Usually the female owner will try to strike up a conversation… and she usually starts with«The food here is really good, huh?!» She seems a little pushy sometimes, especially if you take more than 1 minute to shout out your order. The male boss is super sweet and always runs around trying to cater to his customers as quick as possible. However, as soon as business starts to pick up, everyone seems to get kind of confused and not know who took care of which table. One more thing… the flies. Since they don’t like to close the door unless it’s really necessary, there are lots and lots of flies… I got a kick out of watching the waitress use the fly swatter for a good 5 – 10 minutes slapping everything the fly landed on. I personally didn’t mind it since I boil my food anyway, and wipe my plates, cup, etc., but I know it grosses many people out. On a final note, my mom and I still love the place. The food is just enough to satisfy our hot pot cravings and not make us bloated. We will definitely keep going back! The end!

Quick friendly service. Food always fresh and great combo of meat and veggies. I love that this place is simple and down to earth. if you are looking for classic, authentic shabu, definitely come here. other places that are popular now offer all kinds of broths and flavors, but that is not traditional shabu.

Food was good, however service was awful. But you gotta realize that this is one of those places that a hard-working couple trying to do the best they can to make a living and you will feel bad for them. You cannot expect much when it comes to service. They won’t give you tea or water unless you ask 3 or 4 times. Don’t take it personal tho because it’s just that they are super busy 101% of the time and if you were to ask them their names, they probably would’ve forgotten about it too. If it’s one of those cold nights that you are in absolute no hurry and you want to just sit and eat and not care about service, come here. Sit, order, eat, and don’t ask for too many things and don’t expect too much. And you will have a good time.

I went to this place couple of times. Their beef had no favor. Free dessert though but it didn’t taste so good either.

This is a mom and pop joint. I wouldn’t enter it at first glance, but Kyle dragged me in here, and after I tried their sate dipping sauce, I’m sold! We always order beef when we eat here, and it comes with a veggie plate, a handful of clear noodles, fishball, 1 shrimp, quail egg, some weird looking brown thing, and a seafood dumpling. The broth they use here is pretty bland, but their sate dipping sauce makes up for it. Whenever I eat here, I always have to order extra sauce. can’t get enough of the sauce! They also give out free dessert, mung bean soup w/boba. It’s not too sweet and pretty refreshing. Only down part? It’s cash only.

All about the sesame peanut sauce, green onions, and garlic! Put that on some select beef, chicken, pork and eat with rice and it’s hmmm hmmm good. Cozy and casual, individual stations. Maybe it’s not for everyone, esp shabu snobs. quick and does the job Really good in cold weather but then that’s when there’s a lot of people, but on a cold weeknight should be ok. Call to see when they close but they seem to only speak Chinese.

I’ve definitely been to my fair share of shabu-shabu restaurants and this one was not impressive in any way. After we sat down, they immediately put small plates of vegetables/mixed items on the table in front of us. We weren’t sure if they just came with the meal or not but didn’t ask about it until we ordered. Some of us ordered a combination plate to share and then that’s where it got confusing. Something about how if we each didn’t order a plate, we would have to pay for the small dish of vegetables separately? I think she said $ 8 – 9 each, for the small plate. After more confusion, we had her remove one small plate from the table. Fine. Food-wise, found the servings to be small and not at all exciting. Plain offerings. Sauces were really bland, nothing flavorful. I basically ate a lot of rice + lamb + beef + vegetables. Totally non-exciting. Essentially, found the restaurant to be pricey, menu was confusing and food was plain. Confused about the bill as well as nothing was well-marked but just paid what was asked and left. We did try to get clarification from the waitress but it still wasn’t clear. Really won’t be coming back to this restaurant for shabu-shabu. We were looking at the patrons seated across from us and one common thought among us was, «Why on earth are these people eating here!!!»

Thought i reviewed this place already… hmmmm. Well for a quick and cheap shabu shabu alternative this place was pretty ok. Nothing really japanese about it cept the technique, ponzu sauce and sliced meat :) I had the chicken and he had the lamb. Stinkin lamb!(Not a fan of lamb) came with a side of basically uncut veggies… yes u get a huge leaf of nappa… gets messy while the water drips from it on its way to your sauce bowl. Also had seafood stuff underr the veggies. Shrimp and fish balls… and a myterious chunk that i did not touch… should have taken a pic of it and made a poll or something to debate on what exactly that thing was… oh well. Sesame sauce was too thick and no good, ponzu was good, meat ok, veggies not prepared all that well, rice was stuck together, hard and mushy all in one bowl. Would i come back? If i was in need for cheap shabu, yes i would.

A hole in the wall Shabu Shabu, to get your fix! Usually not a long wait, to get in, unless, it’s real COLD outside, then the windows are all fogged up and all the seats at the oblong counter and the little seats and tables that look like they are for the one-on-one video games… The drab décor looks like it might be straight outta a tiny little back street in Taiwan, but, who am I fooling, I haven’t been to Taiwan yet… Just in my mind’s eye… This hits the spot, unpretentious and just plain solid. It doesn’t aspire to what it’s not. Hard, honest shabu without the fuss. It might be YOUR mom’s shabu! ^_^ Good honest folks, decent service, usually plenty of parking, but, it’s last in line on a row of restaurants and closest to the Supermarket in this Mall area… So, Danger! Will Robinson! Danger! You may have to fight for parking! The row by the street, starts with Lee Sandwiches and continues with an entire row of almost nothing but Noodle eateries and the such. Wendy’s is on the corner. U2 café across the street. Decent price for what you get! The Quail egg, the shrimp and the tomato too? It’s my lucky day! Come here to get warm, you really don’t have to dress up for this place… ^_^

I like this place coz they give you more varieties on the plates, including veggies, tempura, a shrimp, quail egg, these are rarely seen in other Shabu place. I also like their sauces, especically their saseme sauce, it is just different from TT shabu, Mr. Shabu and Shabu house around the neighborhood. Overall service is descent. Never bad attitude. in the end of your meal, they also give you a chilled green bean boba sweet soup, it is quite good.

My mom is acquainted with the owner of this place and we come here every once in a while to eat. I like the how the Chinese BBQ sauce has a sweet touch to it compared to the one I use when I have hot pot. It obviously isn’t the best stuff but it’s fairly cheap for what you get. The restaurant is fairly small and sometimes it gets filled up with people. One of these days. I’ve got to try a better place but this place does a quick shabu fix. 3 Stars.

One of our usual places to hit up whenever we feel like shabu. It’s tucked away in a plaza with Wendy’s and Lee’s Sandwhich, so you do have to do some searching. The meat here is decent, good portion. They give you a whole plate. They also give you a plate of mixed veggies with a few pieces of seafood. What we love about this place is the sauce, there are 3 kinds: peanut butter, ponzu, and Chinese BBQ. We always get all 3. The soup base is the same, chicken broth. Overall, its a quick(clever name), easy place to go for shabu. Oh, it does get pack here for dinner on Sunday’s, so come early. But normally you can sit right away. The only thing is that its a mom and pop place, and the daughter is forced to work here. Occasionally, you’ll get glares from her, simply cause you can tell she doesn’t want to be there.

Call me crazy… fine. This is my favoritist shabu place. Why? Oh, they don’t have the best cuts of beef(which, I guess, is pretty important), or the freshest cuts of vegies… and lately, the rice has been pretty hard(think chewy little rocks, I’ve complained, only to be told it was yesterdays… yes… haha gotta love it!) but all’s fair, IMO, because I love their Japanese dipping sauce. It’s sorta a sour ponzu and I add extra chillis a TON extra, cuz I like it spicey! Besides the dipping sauce I also like the fact that they give some extras in their vegies dish such as: one shrimp, one clam, one piece of tempura, one piece of imita crab, clear noodles, quail egg, tofu, tomatoe, and corn… yay for extras. When you’re finished eating your very healthy meal, the soup is really good. This soup base isn’t just your average two pieces of thick ass seaweed, but actual soup broth! So, finish up what you can, but remember to have a hot bowl of soup upon fini.

Believe it or not, «Quick» was a good description of the dinner last night. We sat down up entering(we came before seven). Ordered within 2 minutes and the lady owner brought out the sauces and the veggie plate. The plate consisted of Chinese cabbage, silk noodles, quail egg, shrimp, tofu, tomato, corn, fish ball… a bit more that I can’t remember. (Keep in mind, it’s one of each… so if you drop one on the floor, you’re SOL… and boiling it in the shabu shabu will just make your soup that much tastier… haha) Since the veggie plate was free, you pick the meat group. I chose the beef $ 12.99. Most of the other plates were $ 11.99, and those consisted of chicken, kimchi, pork… etc. You get to choose between one of the two sauces, either satay or Japanese sweet and sour sauce. Overall, the quality of the food is good, the value was ok, everything was a little on the bland side, even the broth. We were done in about 40 minutes, quick meal if you can seated right away.

Ok, this place has a variety as far as what you can order such as pork, beef, chicken I think but definitely has seafood. If you want to compare this to the Japanese shabu shabu, don’t. This is totally a Chinese thing because this is what my parents did at home when I was a kid. When I did come here to try it, it was a long ass wait just like the Japanese shabu shabu so I was like, oh man this must be good. Sat down and started eating, this was just boiled food. I’d rather go back up the street to Mr. Shabu Shabu. I was more satisfied eating there. Won’t be back here at all. So dine at your discretion and not from my recommendation.
