Great staff and they do a great job!!! I refer this place to all of my friends. Kent is amazing and really honest about what you need done to your car to make it safe. They don’t rip you off either. All around a wonderful place.

My family has been taking our cars to Kent for the last 15+ years. He’s always honest and reliable when it comes to auto repair. He always confirms the work he is going to do and the price once the diagnosis is made. If any problems arise he’s always a phone call away for advice and or recommendations. He’s done great work on our vintage cars as well as our new cars. As the saying goes, a good mechanic and plumber are worth their wait in gold. Kent and Scott at Aliso Foreign are our guys.

I was referred to Aliso Foreign Car when I first moved to Orange County almost ten years ago by a friend who had been going there since he started driving. The owner is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet and knows cars better than anyone I’ve known. His other loyal mechanics know their stuff and have been there as long as I have been going which speaks volumes about the stellar ownership. I have recommended all of my friends and family, and they’ve all felt the same way: They are honest, knowledgable mechanics who go above and beyond to make sure you get the most out of your car.
If you are looking for dirt cheap service and parts, then go elsewhere — but if you want to keep your car running, fix things before they become a problem, and feel confident in the health of your engine, give these guys a visit.
Lastly, they are surrounded by competition in their complex… might explain the questionably slanderous review that wants you to go to america’s tires instead!
I can’t recommend them more, and I think the customer loyalty exemplified by the other reviewers speaks for itself.

This is a great place to take your car for excellent and honest work. Kent was recommended to us by a neighbor/​friend. Kent was straight forward and his price beats anything nearby for the same type of quality work!

A good friend who only takes his M5 to Kent at Aliso Foreign Car (AFC), recommended AFC. I have taken my Lexus GS300 and Honda Pilot to AFC many times always with great results. A few examples: (1) my Lexus seat belt clip would not insert into the female part. It was simple — a small piece of plastic and broken off and his mechanic used tweezers to get it out. $ 20 and I was on my way. My guess is the dealer would have replaced the part and charged hundreds of $, (2) our Honda Pilot was making a groaning noise during braking/​acceleration. We spent over $ 1,000 on 3 visits to the Honda dealer and Pep Boys on struts, etc. and no solution. Kent found a bent/​loose brace on the frame and fixed for less than $ 200, (3) Aliso Foreign Car replaced the power steering pump on the Pilot. The replacement pump was not working well. Kent replaced it under warranty at no charge. It is working great now.
I recommend Aliso Foreign Car to everyone.

let me start out by saying i will never understand why Unilocal doesn’t let reviewers give one star. if anyone deserves a singular stellar review, it’s this guy.
my husband brought my 4runner in for a brake job. a $ 700 brake job. yes. seven. hundred. dollar. brake. job. that took three hours. my plastic surgeon doesn’t even make that kind of money. but i digress.
kent needed some special adapter to take my tires off which a previous mechanic must have swiped out of my car, because it was gone, so my husband had to purchase a new one… for $ 18. scroll back up to the previous paragraph. i’ll just let that sit there for a minute. a customer spending $ 700 for 3 hours of work was charged $ 18 for a pipe to remove tires. i’m going to go ahead with an educated guess here: there was some markup on it, as well. EXCELLENT customer service, buddy.
so the work was done, my husband bandaged up his anus, and when next i drove my car on the freeway, it started shaking between 60 and 70mph. hadn’t done that yesterday. homeboy clearly removed my tires. 2 + 2 = 4. so, my husband called him up and asked to bring it in for him to correct the mistake. kent said to bring it in, so we did that day. then he threw up his arms and couldn’t imagine what could have happened to the car because nothing he could have done could cause a car to shake between 60 and 70mph.
now look, i’m not a mechanic and i don’t pretend to be one. i don’t do brakes. but the fact that he removed my tires, then put them back on tells me that he touched my tires. i mean, unless he’s david copperfield, he touched my tires. and if my car *didn’t* shake *before* kent touched my tires… and my car *does* shake *since* kent touched my tires, i’m going to think it’s fairly reasonable to assume something he did something to cause the shaking. maybe he really IS david copperfield, because he swore that nothing he did could have caused this to happen.
he then suggested that whomever put the tires on (over a year ago, mind you) must have done something to make my car shake… AFTER kent touched my tires. maybe he really is a magician. it’s pretty impressive, isn’t it, Unilocalers? i mean, my car doesn’t shake, kent removes and replaces my tires, my car shakes. somehow, the tire company waved their fairy car-​shaking wand over the land and somehow, a year later, the fairy car-​shaking dust made my car start shaking THE DAY AFTER kent worked on my car. someone should call ABC7!
my husband was satisfied with never ever giving his crook our business and spreading the word, but not i. i called him to ask him if he could explain the magic to me, but he told me my husband was lying and that there was nothing he did that could have caused this issue. it’s still the most mystifying coincidence i’ve ever experienced. now, i did see david copperfield in person in lake tahoe when i was in the 5^th grade, and i do remember being blown away, but magic always impresses me. and kent? i’m impressed. let’s give it up for America’s Tires for their amazing ability to make cars start shaking over a year after they’ve worked on them, yet the very day after a mechanic removes and replaces said tires.
so it was clear that kent had cashed the check and didn’t give a wad about his clients, repeat business, or word of mouth. i’m not often short of words, as you can probably see. i live in a tight-​knit community with lots of neighbors who all have cars. all of their cars have brakes. guess who i won’t be referring them to.
now, back to america’s tires! i called them (off avery near the 5) up and explained the situation. jesse answered the phone and didn’t even waste a second before he said, «bring it in. we’ll get your tires rebalanced and there’s no charge.»
KENT…YA READ THAT?! i honestly don’t know how you’re still in business if you treat your customers like that. i mean, you did charge $ 700 for three hours of work, but how do you ever get repeat business?
i’m going to be bringing my frikken wheelbarrows to america’s tires. hell, i might even drive over a spike strip just so i can give these guys more of my business. and guess who i WILL be referring my neighbors to for their future tire work… because all their cars have tires, too.
in other words, avoid, avoid, avoid, tell your friends, and save yourself the money.

Brought my car in because it was acting funny and needed an oil change. They changed it extremely fast and diagnosed the issue very soon after. A quick and perfect job. Will be coming back.

These guys are the real deal when it comes to great customer service, my family have been getting their cars service here for along time and will continue. I recommend this place to all who need an honest mechanic.

For the past 8 years I have been having ALL of my cars serviced by Kent and Scott at Aliso Foreign Car. I always get expert repairs and advice from them and am never disappointed. I’ve even asked Kent’s advise on any planned new car purchase to see if there would reasons not to make that purchase. Always honest and have never had a repair that was not required! Even when I think I need brakes Kent gives me a time line and anticipated mileage before they need replacing. I’ve referred numerous customers to Aliso Foreign Car and they have never been disappointed!

We’ve been going to Aliso Foreign Car for years. We were recommended by my mother in law who also still goes to them. It is hard to find honest mechanics that will always give you quality! I know when I take my car in, my car is in good hands. So important to be able to trust someone with doing good work!

Qualtiy work yes, reasonable prices maybe, but every time I have had my car serviced here, I have been instructed that an additional $ 500 worth of work was required that really wasn’t. (Tires, brakes, ect.) I’m fairly experienced with auto repairs, but do not have a garage and the tools to do my own repairs. Regardless, a majority of people can tell if they need new tires or not. I would steer clear of this place unless you don’t mind spending some extra $$$ each visit.

HONEST. It seems like a bad joke, «Do you know how to find an HONEST mechanic?» Answer: Aliso Foreign Car. Kent is the owner, and most times will greet you when you walk in. My issue was a smog issue with my 2002 Lexus SC. I took it to Shell to get smogged, and the mechanic there told me it could run into the thousands (after pulling the same codes that Kent pulled from my car’s computer). The OTHER mechanic told me I would need smoke testing blah, blah, blah. It was two bad sensors.
In these economic times, even when we have a «luxury» car, it doesn’t mean our situation now was the same when we bought it. Kent chose the most cost affordable treatment first to see if it worked, and ultimately I needed one more sensor. He tried to save me money. How often does that happen? It was more work on him.
A lot of us have been so mislead (read duped) by Mechanics, it is hard for us to trust. I watched a guy at the counter go over, and over the results of his diagnosis/​treatment and I thought to myself, «is that what I do?»
I would recommend my hero and lifesaver Kent. Even for oil changes. His price is just about the same as the Jiffy Lube in the same complex and they always seem to do something so something else needs to be fixed.

I read these reviews and was very disappointed after I went there. In my opinion, the owner has a high opinion of himself and told me how much I could trust him. He also explained that he charges a little more, but is worth it.
He does charge more and never properly fixed my car. I took my car to another mechanic and he was shocked at how much I was charged for only half the job. Of course, the owner has a different take on the situation and will adamantly dispute my opinion, but it’s your decision if you use him.

When you find a great mechanic that is trustworthy, reliable, and goes out of his way to offer great service, you hold on to them for life! They get repairs right the first time and let you know what is a «must» to repair, and what can wait. Best mechanic/​repair shop I’ve ever found!

They are as good as they come, hopnest, hard working and totally honest, these guys are the best.

Finding a mechanic you can trust is sometimes hard to do. My family has been taking our cars to Aliso Foreign Car since we moved here and the service has been excellent. Plus the honesty and workmanship here is second to none.

They always do things properly the first time and have not suggested doing things that are legitimately not needed. The prices are a bit on the high side compared to other smaller shops but the quality of work and reliability make up for that. Plus they are less expensive than the dealership.

Very stand up guys. Totally professional and friendly. My family has been using their service for years. Highly recommend.
