History

Established in 2007.

Since May of 2009, residents have been enjoying the Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center at 29 Santa Barbara. With a 25-​meter pool, recreation pool, splash pad and toddler wading pool, the Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center is the hub of summer activity in town. Offering fee-​based swimming programs, activities, parties and more, the facility is a popular venue for families, kids, adults, groups and organizations alike. The City of Aliso Viejo built this facility for the entire community to enjoy for years to come.

The resort-​style complex in the heart of the City is now open year-​round.

The Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center is flanked by the Aliso Viejo Conference Center and golf course near Glenwood and Golf Drive.

Went here for a swim for the first time and after it opened over the winter break. Friendly staff and clean location. There is a snack bar which was closed but the menu posted up in the wall had a good selection of snacks at great prices.

I read on the Residents of Aliso Viejo Facebook page that they are using a new vendor for food and that the service at the café should be better. It is not. It took 25 minutes to get a grilled cheese and chicken fingers today. The condiments area was out of condiments, napkins, utensil and the station was dirty. I have never had a good experience at the café window… guess its a good thing that its a aquatic center and not a food court or they would be out of business.
The pool areas are generally pretty clean and is the reason the place gets 3 stars. If it were a rating for the café only I would give one star.

Awesome neighborhood pool with friendly staff, clean facilities, and golf course view!
They just renovated the splash pad which is just big enough for the kids to rum about and still small enough to keep an eye on them. It has a beach entry wading pool that even the parents love to splash around in.
I must say, the investment on my daughter’s private swim lessons have paid off. Every summer, we enroll her in semi private lessons, but there is nothing like the personalized, one on one lessons she received with Premier. Her form has vastly improved, and her confidence around the pool soared. She is ecstatic to perfect her diving form.
Our son attends the parent and me classes, which is a half hour long. His first lesson was a disaster, and he wailed the entire time. He thought it was weird to share the pool with other babies. But Dan was our instructor that day, it didn’t faze him and he made sure the other babies were comfortable despite our boy screaming his head off. Dan was very understanding and assured us a lot of babies go through the initial nervousness around the pool. He is now a «pro» around the pool, he can dunk his head underwater, blow bubbles, and do some kicks.
Our family lives this place and we look forward to spending our Saturday mornings here.

This is a great place to take the kids. There is a kids area with tiny shallow «pool» and splash pad for young ones to run and splash around, and there are a couple bigger pools as well. I took my one– and two-​year-​old and we had a blast. They also have food so you can make a day of it.

We rsvpd to a movie at the aquatic center and were required to provide our contact information. I have a one year old so preparing and packing for the evening is always a project (snacks, blankets, chairs, toys… etc). When we arrived the pool was closed and families were wandering around trying to keep the kids entertained while searching for the event. I thought it was very unprofessional that they didn’t advertise the event was cancelled or at least send an email to the families provided contact information. I will stick to my annual ymca pass and no longer will consider this pool as an option. Bummer

Great pool actually multiple pools. Great location with a Clean open atmosphere. Clean being really important when choosing a pool. Hard to give it anything but a 5.

Our 3 yr old just completed his first swimming class 2 week session. On the first day he was nervous, his teacher Jordan didn’t hesitate to have him go under water and get use to it. By the end of day 4 he was jumping into the pool and able to float on his back for 6 – 8 seconds and knew to then flip over to his belly and attempt under water swimming for a few seconds before floating again on his back. The class size varies because some kids move up mid week who have been there for awhile. We had 4 – 5 kids each class and the size is actually perfect. The kids really learn from watching each other. Now after 2 weeks out son thinks he is a professional swimmer! He can jump in the water and started actually kicking his feet to swim to the instructor. He floss the full 10 seconds on his back without help and is so excited for swim class each day. The water is usually pretty warm and with the hot sunny California days we have been having it’s the perfect activity.

There is something wrong with the water here. The last couple of times we swam here, my kids hair has turned to straw, their suits get bleached out and they were both super itchy after swimming.
My friend mentioned this to the management and they brushed her off saying the system was reset yesterday but everything is fine now. It is not fine.
We waited a couple weeks to return after the first incident and nothing has changed. Paul Mitchell makes a great clarifying shampoo which you will need after swimming in this water.
It is a major bummer because the pools are nice and have a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. The snack bar could benefit from vegetarian options other than raw cut veggies and ranch dip.

a beautiful place. went a couple of times and held my son’s first birthday party here. although i liked the place a lot i give 3 stars for its price and customer service. place is absolutely nice. clean and kid friendly. my kids love it here and people attended party kept telling me how nice the place was.
they knew the party was for kids but didn’t allow me to bring kids’ juice boxes even though they don’t sell them here. the only drink i could buy from them was water or soda. they don’t allow any food from outside except the cake and i felt like at least they had to give me an option to buy from them. another thing that totally pissed me off was that i reserved for party and asked for royal blue table cloth. i bought everything blue to match. every decoration was blue. blue bows, blue balloons, blue center piece. and the person at the office tells me on the day that they don’t have blue anymore and can only offer green table cloth. my effort to make everything match was completely ruined. blue + green = ugly
$ 5 for Aliso Viejo resident doesn’t sound so bad. but it can add up when the whole family goes. i used to live in Rancho Santa Margarita and access to lake and lagoon for swimming was all free. Mission Viejo residents get access to their lake for free. where does our association fee go to?

Really fun aquatics center for families!
They have a full sized 25 yard lap pool, a recreation pool and a toddler wading pool, everything is very well maintained and clean. Kinda expensive, but I guess they have a lot of maintenance. Fee per day is $ 5/​adult (AV resident), $ 7 for non-​residents, though no charge for children under the age of 2.
Definitely a fun place to keep the kids occupied during this burning hot summer!
