The UPS Store

I’ve been a customer here for several years and have always had excellent customer service and convenience. It seems to be the only local store of it’s type where everyone working there has common sense. I mailed two identical items to the same address a day a part a few months ago. One pkg had to be sent from a FedEx store a couple miles away because I got a flat tire and the other store was close. Both boxes were packed by the employees. The second item arrived broken because they didn’t use any bubble wrap and a very small amount of styro peanuts. When I brought it back into the 2^nd store, they were defensive and tried to say the recipient had removed the bubble wrap and rest of the peanuts. But I was the one who opened it because I had sent it ahead when I traveled there. The insurance did pay for it, but their customer service was lousy. In a second incident, I took a big box with items needed for a birthday party on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon, to this UPS store. We sent it 2-​day so it would arrive on Friday, as we had done several times previously. In the past they had always left the package at the recipient’s door. But because it was a new driver and it is up to the driver’s discretion, at 4:25, he didn’t leave it, but left the note saying it would be re-​delivered on Monday! I called first 20 minutes before their posted closing time and they didn’t answer. Finally at 5 minutes before closing a lady answered and said it was too late to contact the driver and it wouldn’t matter anyway because it’s up to the driver. When I called the UPS office here, they called and got the same response. However, they gave me a break on shipping the next time because they said «The experience at one UPS facility effects the reputation of all UPS». They didn’t have to do this because it wasn’t their fault at all, but they did because they’re good people with the right attitude about customer service and their company. I would give them more stars if I could. Now they hand write the «No signature required» on the package just to be sure. Don’t waste your time going anywhere else. This UPS store is the best.

The UPS Store here in Aliso Viejo is an excellent choice for your personal and business needs. I am an entrepreneur and business owner, and I use this location for my business mailbox, shipping, printing and other office services. The staff and management are smart, friendly, and provide good customer service. I recommend this store highly. Thank you, Ellen.

This UPS store goes above & beyond! Not only are they efficient but they are friendly. I brought my Christmas cards in and needed to buy stamps. The owner, Ellen, took my whole stack of 80 plus cards and said she would put all of the stamps on for me… Now that is service! I highly recommend this UPS Store.

This is by far the best rented postal box store I have ever used, and I’ve used five different places over the last decade or so with business & different addresses. The staff here is above average, friendly & there is very little employee turnover, I never have issues. I have had a rented box here for many years and will never close it as long as I live in this area because this place is frankly offers the best service and location. Long hours during the week and even open weekends fairly late in the day.
Also, keep in mind THIS IS ONE OF THE ONLY IF NOT THE ONLY store you will get a normal street address in South OC, without all the A-​404 or Suite 100 – 214 nonsense from most rented mailbox places. … Yes, you’ll get a standard address of «27 068 La Paz Rd #XX or whatever your box number is, just like a real business. Trust me this equates to many less hassles when you try to give the DMV, your bank, your credit card company and all of the other places you correspond with that can’t understand you get mail at «1224 Cherry Lane PMB 120 – 450 or some crazy address that won’t fit into their computerized system. I found this out the hard way at other places and had lost mail because of incorrect addresses. This has never been an issue at this UPS store thankfully, and its due to the inherent address.
The great street address is reason alone to do business here if you need a rented mailbox.
The owner is the sweetest person you will ever meet and will go out of her way to the best of her abilities. Do not believe the angry reviews from other customers who obviously had something go wrong and are taking it out on the owner.
Some of the people leaving poor reviews here need to learn how the world spins around & stop blaming your local store for a lost package or issues with UPS corporate, or the US Postal Service. Take a little personal responsibility. This is an independent business as another reviewer pointed out, its not fair to blame the store for something UPS or USPS did with a delivery or one of their drivers. Also, when you ship packages, realize there are issues — it isn’t going to get there tomorrow unless you want expensive Express service. If its fragile understand it might get broken so buy insurance, not just the $ 100 free insurance you get. If you are shipping USPS (Postal Service) which can be done here, realize USPS isn’t super reliable to begin with and they do lose stuff & USPS claims aint that hot. If its valuable, and you need insurance, you are way better off choosing UPS because you are less likely to have a claim issue. If you are shipping internationally, don’t blame the UPS store because your package got lost or some international country’s customs office delayed your parcel. These are issues way beyond the control of your local store. Also, if you’re shipping to an apartment you may need to add a signature so the driver doesn’t leave the package on a doorstep unattended… these are all common sense issues YOU need to research and handle when shipping, and not take out on the staff people. And oh yeah, realize this is a business trying to make a fair profit for their materials and time so yes you will pay for boxing, peanuts & tape if you don’t provide your own. In other-​words, it’s common sense! (which apparently is less than common these days).
If there is any downside, close parking can be limited in peak hours especially near 5 pm, but its not that bad, there is plenty of parking around the corner at the edge of Target’s lot in the rare event parking is taken close to the store and its just a short walk. I rarely if ever have a problem. If you can, come before the rush hour.
I have no affiliation with this place nor the owners other than I am one of their customers, my experience has been very positive, and I think some of these other reviewers need to realize reality when they leave negative reviews.

You have to understand going into one of these stores that this is not UPS this is a small franchise business owned by a small business owner.
I come in here from time to time to have Amazon returns sent out and sometimes to get prints. The two guys are always super nice and helpful.
Going into the post office is cheaper but I prefer the convenience of this store. Plus I understand that I am helping to support a local business!

They called me regarding renewing my mailbox. I told them that I planned on cancelling and came by the store a few hours later to turn in my keys and collect my mail. When I arrived my mailbox was empty. I asked for my mail and they said they returned it all to sender and that the mail was already picked up. Essentially because I told them in advance of driving in that I was cancelling they punished me by returning all of my mail. When I complained the penny pinching owner told me that it’s a legal thing. Yet the cancellation form gives me an option to forward my mail (for a fee of course). My rule is simple — you treat everyone with respect current or former customer. Stay FAR away from this unethical place.

I am very surprised how A business establishment can still be in business with such a poor customer service and unprofessionalism. You want to be pay for a service you just won’t get??? This is the place to be, they charged my 65 year old mother 45 dollars to send a priority package, the package never got to its destination (we had to use USPS) and to top it off NO ONE took responsibility on that everyone was throwing the ball to each other, the manager or owner and the two guys at the front counter are just very incompetent and UNPROFESSIONAL even we provide everything they ask us to prove we give them the right address
Over almost 7 months of taking no just our money but our time they just denied to give my mother her refund
It is not about 40 dollars it is about the principal of providing at least the service you’re paying for specially with elderly people
If you re using UPS use a different store, people in this place will screw you with time and money

Wish there was a «neutral» amount of stars as this review is neither meant to prejudice the staff or give them the best of prompts. Perhaps, as an attempt to reach someone from above since 99% of the time, they are the ones that should be held responsible. They get payed enough to be so and they absolutely sign up to take responsibility for the troubles the company causes.
I’ve dealt with the bad UPS service for the past few years but since I have the need to use their services I thought there was no other option but to keep having my packages be undelivered or my stuff arrive way later than the set up date. Praying every time things would go as planned… Which there should be no need for when you’re paying for a specified service that they call themselves «pros» at.
Today in search for an answer I called and pretty much interviewed Daniel, a member of the staff in this particular store with already horrible reviews. Asking all kinds of questions from «What are my chances of my package getting lost/​undelivered?» And «How will UPS compensate the loss?» To all sorts of «What happens if.?»
Bottom line is… Stop using UPS services, use DHL instead and stop making business personal. There is always a better second choice.
Business are what they are: b u s i n e s s. In case anyone forgot to spell. Things go wrong on a daily basis, from spilling your coffee first thing in the morning to having a $ 900 dollar charge in your account for an undelivered electronic device by UPS like it happened to me a week ago. (I sent it through the lake forest location, and I’m still fighting the case) and I shouldn’t have the urge to physically beat someone up for such thing, although we’ve all felt that way, some feel that way everyday! What you gonna do…
Make better choices, the best form to complain is to stop using their service and go elsewhere.
As for Daniel, service was good, professional and accurate I highly encourage you to look for a job elsewhere too. Maybe somewhere you can be valued more as an employee.

The employees are not as helpful as I would like. I was shipping multiple boxes and I asked a simple question, if the boxes needed individual labels, and I received a snooty response stating how I should already know that each box needs its own label. THAT IS WHY I ASKED YOU AND THAT IS WHY YOU WORK THERE to answer any dumb and simple question any customer might have, instead of making them feel like an idiot. Also, I was standing in front of the counter (the store was empty) for almost 5 minutes before someone came to answer my question.

I wish I had looked at the reviews before I went to this store. Long story short, they broke the item I was shipping because they didn’t properly pack it. Then they told me it would take about 10 days to process a claim. It took about 6 weeks to get reimbursed, and that was because I stayed on top of it and didn’t let them ignore me. Then they didn’t even reimburse me for all of the packing materials they used and charged me for. They basically just stole $ 50 from me since I got nothing out of it. I’d rather go to the post office at Christmas time than ever set foot in this store again. And as others have said, that woman is very unpleasant.

Ellen, Daniel, Brenden, and Jacob are awesome. They make the the experience of mailing actually quite delightful, due to the friendly atmosphere.

Had a box here for 3 years and it works out very well for me. I come in maybe once a week and they all know me and grab my packages before I have a chance to even check my box.

Went to Drop off return of a package to Amazon. I asked for a little tape to secure it. I was told that they would be a one dollar charge for the little tape. When I reacted with surprise the clerk told me «you are not the first person or the last person to ask for a little tape.
Very disappointed. Not a good way to do business.

I had never done a live scan before but I am becoming a teacher and came here to get fingerprinted. I brought in two forms: one for the state and one for my district. I got scanned, I was told that the prints would be sent to the state and that «if the district does not receive your results, they will be mailed to your home address» then I paid and left.
The state confirmed they received my results and credentialed me. Yahoo!
I went to my district interview today and was surprised and embarrassed to find out they did not have my results.
I called UPS when I got home and they said I had only been charged for one live scan service: the one for the state.
«Why was I told both were sent?» I asked, wondering why I had been allowed to leave when only one of my two forms had been run.
Among the excuses offered was «well, you would have had to have been fingerprinted twice: once per report.»
That’s fine! Fingerprinting is what I came in for! I didn’t know you needed to fingerprint me twice because you didn’t tell me that. Instead, I walked into a job interview expecting UPS to have given me correct information and they had not. My mistake was not verifying the information I had been given. I only bothered to write this negative review today because when I called looking for an explanation, I was met with excuses and a lack of ownership.
We all make mistakes, but how you own yours determines if others perceive you as untrustworthy or full of integrity.

The customer service is horrible. Employees are unprofessional. Hands in pockets, oversized clothing, using their phones when customers are around, talking down to the customers. On top of this, after spending $ 50 in the store on livescan services, I had asked to make a single copy. The employees insisted that I paid 25 cents. I did not have any coins on me and the minimal credit card transaction is $ 3. When I had asked to make the copy complimentary due to the $ 50 already spent, the answer was: «this is our business. that’s how we make money», Well, good luck with your business. This was my first visit to this particular store and I am never coming back.

This UPS Store still provides great service. I saw another reviewer knocked them down to 2 stars because of parking. True, it’s a busy area sometimes but I see no reason to give low stars for something out of their control.
I have met the owner more times than I can count over the years. She is working there throughout the week. Very sweet and cares
a lot to make sure everything meets your expectations. I would recommend this UPS Store for shipping, packaging and PMB service!
