Great food, good service and pretty girls. What more could you ask for! The steak and prime rib is always been wonderful. Great size portions too.

Fries taste of old dusty oil, fish has no flavor, pretzel burger had undercooked bacon & beef was flavorless! Concerns fell on to deaf ears! Facebook posts were deleted! We had heard good things of Wheat & Rye in Romulus, thought it’d be the same in Allen Park. BOYWEWEREWRONG!

Low quality under seasoned fatty steak. The burgers are ok(not high quality beef) and they are huge. Pretty sad, years ago they had great food.

There was a time when the rave revues you see were true, but sadly that was at least 10 years ago. This place is a dive that stays in business because people remember delicious burgers stacked impossibly high with condiments. The food quality is marginal at best, the drink prices aren’t bad, but they aren’t anything to brag about either. The owner is a pompous boob who is more concerned with feeling important than with running a restaurant or a bar or a restaurant… which is it? Nobody, especially the owner really seems all that sure. The happy hour crowd chokes the bar every day, mostly old guys who graduated from Allen Park High and want to hang around drinking and reliving their glory days. The night crowd is a rowdy mix of young wanna-be toughs and thugs; a fight is not out of the question. Service is crappy, check your bill or you may be buying a stranger a drink. The servers tend to huddle around the kitchen and you can wait for ever for a drink or to tell them that something is wrong with your food. And if you DO have something wrong with your food, which is not exactly a rarity you will most likely get a «shut up and eat it» response from the manager and even worse from the owner. This is the ideal spot for irresponsible parents to bring young children where they can let them run wild through the bar while they get hammered and drive them home while plastered.

Good food but loaded with salt. Environment is very social and can get load. Defidently for sports fans with lots of TVs and full bar. Corned beef is bomb. Lots of food included for what you get.

This wheat and rye I was very impressed with. Nicely done on the inside for a bar. It was very cozy and the set up was very comfortable. It was a seat yourself kinda night, lots of families sitting together so my brother and I sat in a booth. Right away greeted by a nice funny waitress, Danielle. Brought us our drinks, gave us our specials menu. I was very wowed with the menu for a bar. My brother ordered the steak dinner, well done to perfection for him and I ordered the Alfredo special. O M G was that plate of pasta humongous. I mean who could finish that! Good enough to feed a family of five! So I had a few bites and was full. Garlic bread was great… mmmm bread, my guilty pleasure. Next time I’ll try something more veggie, like a sandwich… not as many carbs to cry over.

This burger rates right up there with the best pub burger in the area. As usual it has to do with how long the grill has been cooking burgers. It gets that deep down inside taste of a great burger. This«dive bar» rates right up there with my favorite Mason’s Burger in Livonia. They have actually up-scaled the interior a little almost taking it from the dive bar category. As other have mentioned the portions are huge. The fries were pretty good. I settled for the domestics beer on tap. When in Allen Park, stop by for a bite. You won’t be disappointed.

Great service, great drink specials, and good prices on somewhat quality food. Love this place. People when you pay what you pay for food here you can’t expect the best quality.

I understand this is a bar and thus I shouldn’t expect much but there are a few things that I require when going out for a meal. First and for most I expect the place to be clean. Second I expect good service and Third I expect the place to have the items on their menu. This placed failed all three of my requirements, it was dirty and the service was very slow and lastly they were out of items on their everyday menu. I ordered the steak which was priced very low(12.95). Needless to say you get what you pay for. It was a large piece of beef and fat with very little flavor. I also got a side order of fries which were some of the worst fries I’ve ever had. I tend to give a lot of bars a chance when it comes to food because like most of you out there I love fried bar food or a good steak at a respectable price but this place gives bar food a bad name. I have heard that they have good corn beef sandwiches which is what I’ll try next time if I ever go back. Chances are if I do return it will be out of pure laziness or because I’m meeting someone there. Anyone who gave this place more than 2 stars needs to get their taste buds checked, just because it’s cheap and big doesn’t mean it’s good food.

This little dive is a nice place to go to if you live near by. They do not skimp on the portion sizes when it comes to the food. My club sandwich was so big(maybe too big) that I did not even know how to eat it so I ended up just picking at it. The crowd was an interesting blend of people and a couple patrons were kind of obnoxious. I cannot hold the crowd they attract against this place though. I would probably come back here again if I somehow ended up in the area.

Checked this place out early on this saturday evening and at 5pm it was already packed. There was a mix of people with some dressed up, some dressed down and some wearing almost rags. No problems anywhere, great blending. Everyone chilling and enjoying themselves. The reputation of huge sandwiches had my attention from go. Yes indeed they are huge, enough for two if not three meals. The corned beef was good and I would probably order again. They have a good selection of bottle and draft beers. The waitress said they had genisys on draft. I asked again to make certain I heard correctly and asked if it was light, red or dark. She announced dark so I ordered. My drafts were served almost room temperature, which is ok with me, as I like it european style. But, in actuality I was drinking a Guiness. The waistaff was also friendly and attentive. Flat screens are on most all walls. Clun Keno, pool and other video games available. Yes, returns trips. A nice spot for some drinks and grub.

You’ll likely find me here every December 23 around Noon. Not sure why, but this has been my lunch crew’s traditional sketchy year-end lunch destination for 7 years Sandwiches are good and large enough to feed you twice. Deep fried mushrooms, and Zucchini are a nice change from Fries. Their hot Pastrami on Rye with Russian Dressing is outstanding, but I always forget yo tell them to skip the Slaw on the bread. It’s not a Reuben… Don’t serve it like a Reuben. Décor is «Dive» trying hopelessly to move upscale. This years addition: about a half dozen large flat panel TVs for your NASCAR viewing pleasure. My favorite was the character, at the end of the bar, with no teeth. He was wearing a MGM Casino Las Vegas cap. Dude, I suggest you invest your future losses in a Dentist. Combine all this ambiance with cold beer at a reasonable price. What more can you ask of a Dive Bar?
