FUMC Allen is a United Methodist congregation located in Allen, a vibrant growing community north of Dallas, Texas. We worship every Sunday, offering three worship services with their own unique style and music but the same biblically based message delivered by Rev. Todd Harris. Our Daybreak service at 8:15am is a blend of both styles & a wonderful way to start your Sunday. Traditional worship, alive with the hymns you know & love, meets at 9:30am. Contemporary worship, led by the Resonate praise team, meets at 11:00am. A new service, named «The Way» and led by Rev. Brian McPherson, is a «traditional plus» teaching service where participants can learn more about the Christian faith.

We offer Bible study and fellowship programs for children, youth, & adults as well as special emphasis programs for families, confirmation, & senior adults. Our recreation ministries feature UPWARD leagues for basketball, cheerleading, and soccer as well as running classes, summer rec camps, and more. We give back to the community each year through free events, such as our annual Easter Egg Hunt, a Fall Festival, & Change The World Weekend. We support the mission and ministries of Allen Community Outreach, Habitat for Humanity, Send Hope, Juntos Servimos, & many more.

History

Established in 1881.

Founding members met in homes until they could afford to purchase a church building, which they did in 1884 on Main Street in downtown Allen. The congregation continued to meet in the downtown area until moving to its current location on Greenville Avenue in 1967. The church continued to grow, expanding its campus in 1978, 1992, 1997, and 2001. Currently, the church is working to add a new satellite campus in Northwest Allen in 2012.

The church has an impact far beyond the walls of the building, and we see our mission as serving God with all our hearts, minds, soul, and strength. This dynamic group of Christians works daily to build the kingdom not only for one another but also the community and the world.

Meet the Manager

Manager

Senior Pastor Todd Harris Todd Harris is a native Texan, born in San Antonio and raised in Houston. As a teenager, he began to hear God’s call to ministry, and he believed he would someday be working in some capacity within the church. As a student at Texas A&M, he was involved in the Wesley Foundation. He attended seminary at Perkins School of Theology where he received his degree in 1990. His life with his wife, Stephanie, and their two children are sometimes used to illustrate their dad’s Sunday sermons. Todd has served the Lord in many roles during his faith walk. He’s served at churches in Houston, Canton, Mt. Pleasant, and Plano before coming to lead at FUMC Allen.
