Shear Ego Salon & Spa

I went to this salon a couple of weeks ago to get my haircut. I usually just go to a random salon instead of actually sticking with one place because I could never find someone who I really liked. But now I will for sure be going back there! My stylist, Macy Chester, knew exactly what to do with my hair. It really was the best haircut I have ever gotten! Ive always had problems explaining to a stylist what I want my hair to look like and how to cut my bangs, but she understood. And she actually knew how to cut bangs! My layers were perfect and not too chopy! Definitely going back to Macy and making it my home salon!

Most women have a very unique relationship with their hairstylist. From the secrets we tell them, the special events we trust them with and the usual monthly touch-​ups… This relationship usually takes time to develop. I am so thankful to have found Stacy at Shear Ego! I can trust her with my words as well as my hair and makeup.

My experience with Shear Ego was expensive and terrible! A toner was left on my hair too long, which caused most of the color that had just been placed in my hair to come out … it looked «stripped». Then, whatever was used to try to reverse that issue burned my scalp terribly. I paid over $ 200 for a color, cut and style and then another $ 200 for a trip to the dermatologist (with meds). I molted for a couple of weeks. Also, because my hair wasn’t well colored (still looked gray after the visit), it wasn’t long before I had to find someone else to color me again, which overprocessed and therefore damaged my hair. Shear Ego was very friendly, but I wouldn’t recommend going there … could be a VERY expensive and time consuming mistake. I did not have William … I had a nice older lady to color, cut and style my hair.

I actually gave them beneift of hoping that William was having a bad day, because I am having so much trouble finding a great colorist and gave him another chance. DONT go here! I ended up looking like Cruella Deville!!! I asked for lowlights to be slightly woven throughout my hair. I ended up with 4 huge 4″ wide patches of BLACK haircolor. As you can see I am blonde. My daughter delighted in sending me pics of Cruella. I ended up coloring myself, and am happier with those results than anyone I have tried since moving to TX 2 yrs. ago!

I have lived in TX for 2 years and was scared to death to have just anyone cut my hair. My hair is really long and I was worried about having someone butcher it! Anyway, I read good reviews about Shear Ego and since it is near my house I decided to check it out.
Let me just say William is fantastic! He listened to me as I «tried» to explain what I wanted. AND he helped me chose a style that I liked and that would work for me. I will definitely go back to see him again. ALL of the staff were also extremely friendly. I highly recommend this place!
