My initial review of Sage 1 and its board may have been viewed as «criticism» by the management company, but it was born from frustration.
The residents were asked at the meetings to report policy violations when we see them. Most of the violations I reported are still there, sometimes over a year later. As for the renovation project stated, since the beginning two years ago, the board has held the community in a grey area. By this I mean they have talked about updating policies, but nothing has happened. At this point, I would be satisfied if either the policies were updated or they give up and allow people to go back to how rules were loosely enforced for the previous 30 years. Holding everyone somewhere in the middle of these causes frustration. If this is your goal, I will stop reporting the policy violations you asked us to.
Yes, I was invited to join a committee or the board and I did decline. However, I have shown a vested interest in this community by offering at numerous meetings to help by posting meeting minutes on bulletin boards in the courts, emailed suggested updates to the bylaws as per the management company and the board’s request, and took it upon myself to post a section of the summer newsletter to help remind homeowners of an upcoming due date for changing their storm doors. I also am one of the first at a meeting to compliment when I see something positive happen in our community.
At the last meeting I attended I was very frustrated when my concerns were met with the response of «well join the board.» If this is the unprofessional approach the board or management company takes when I voice a concern or complaint then it will make me and other residents feel unwelcome at meetings.
