Candida’s Bar

I’ve been a a customer here for almost 15 years. I enjoy coming in here because of the friendly atmosphere. This is the friendly neighborhood bar that your parents talk about. You can have a conversation with anyone who walks in the door. This is a bar that allows smoking and it is posted right on the door so you are informed of that so you can make your decision if you don’t care for the smoke. The bartenders are friendly and fun. With how the world is today this is a close by place where you can go and still get a polite hello from everyone there. The sense of community shows with how everyone takes care of eachother. I’ve seen someone pay for a cab for someone because he thought he had a ride home. This mentality comes right from the owner who when you see her is extremely welcoming when she sees to you.
The bar itself is very clean. Even though it is a corner bar, there is a decent menu is you get hungry during your visit. On a nice evening, there is an outdoor space to enjoy a spring or summer evening. Though you may not have the fanciness that you may get in the new bars in downtown, you do get a sense of community that you just can’t get in those new cookie cutter places

Drinks are cheap, the outside area is cute. But the smell, oh god the smell. I left there with lung cancer. WHY, OH GOD WHY do we still smoke in bars??? Other than that, the staff is friendly, the décor is… eh, it’s attempted to be semi-​clean; bathroom is a closet and the music is a jukebox.

Wish the female bartenders were more respectful.

It’s been 15 years since I last stepped foot in Candida’s.
This bar is cool. Friendly bartender. Both victory pale ale and Guinness on tap. Kind of empty right now but I imagine its crazy later in the night. Only 7:30 pm right now.
I will be back. Yeah Candida’s!
