Very please with the work they did with my crv! The mechanic was very knowledgable. The price was very fair! Got a good deal and the work was done in the the time frame that was given to me. Definitely recommend this place to whoever needs a good deal, good service!

My boyfriend introduced me to A & I years ago and I’m glad he did. They have saved me so much $$ over the years. Dealerships are at least 50% higher in costs and less trustworthy.
Steve and his team at A & I have always been professional and deliver superb, reasonable, and efficient repairs to my 2006 A4 Audi Quattro. Plus I’m very particular with my car. They are always able to get you in (within a few days) and give you a fair and trustworthy diagnosis of your vehicle. It’s truly a novelty to find honest and dedicated mechanics in this day and age but if you’ve found them to assist with your cars needs then you have made the right choice.
They stand by their work if something isn’t right they will make it right.
Neighborhood is a little sketchy so always lock your doors but that can be said for anywhere. No fluff or fancy sitting area but who needs that if you get great work.

I brought my car here after it was vandalized/​robbed and the A&I team were amazing. They not only fixed my car, but helped me in dealing with insurance by allowing the appraiser to meet with them instead of me because I wasn’t able to get time off of work, and offered their facilities for the windshield replacement people. Steve and everyone were super great with communicating and being accommodating during a rather stressful ordeal. The best part was, the car was ready when they said it was going to be, and the amount I had to pay was exactly what they estimated (which may be a first in my experience with mechanics). Overall I had a great experience, hopefully I won’t need to be back there any time soon, but if the time comes, I know where I’ll be going.

This place is awesome ! Got my muffler replaced a few days ago at a really awesome price. I called a few places before to see how much most places charged and Steve gave me the best price. They replaced it super fast and helped me replace a few of my lights when I asked last minute as well. The service was fast and amazing. Will definitely come back !!

I was looking for a mechanic I could trust when I lived in the Boston area. Someone recommend trying A & I Auto. That was more than 20 years ago and to this day I haven’t found a better mechanic I can trust.
Last year I had the linkage go in my car. I brought it to a local transmission shop that gave me a estimate of 700. oo +
So I had it towed 100 miles to A & I, and a day later it was good as new for ½ the price. I now live in Southern RI but still drive into Boston and give my buisness to A & I .

I took my 2003 Hyundai Accent in because it was making some really loud squealing and sputtering noises. I thought I needed a new timing belt. They said I actually just had a leaky gasket and needed a few exterior belts changed. The total came to $ 300 and they had the car done the same afternoon.
The next day the car seem to be misfiring and I thought maybe the new belts were slack so they told me to bring it back in. The belts looked fine but they replaced a couple of spark plugs on the spot and totally free of charge.
We will definitely be back!

This place is a hidden gem. Located behind the Advanced Auto Parts store on Cambridge St, I brought my car here this past weekend to have my exhaust repaired. The total cost of the repair was less than half the amount that I was quoted from 2 different garages. This is my go to garage from now on.

I picked up my car today from Steve and his awesome crew, and I could not be more satisfied. I had a clutch replaced, and the other garage I called quoted me about a grand more than A&I with the same exact parts. In addition, It took two days, including time for parts to arrive. How could it be better? This is now my go-​to garage!

Have taken my car here to fix a quite few times for larger jobs to smaller jobs. I’ve tried many different shops but A & I is the only place I go now. They always do a great job and offer an unbeatable price. I used to service my car at Subaru dealer and some other smaller places, but nothing beats it here.
Steve is the guy to talk to. He is very knowledgeable and even tells me step by step what needs to be done and doesn’t. He takes the time to answer all my questions and finishes the job in a timely fashion. I’ve gone to get quoted at other places and the amount of hours needed here is always less than what other places quote me.
He lets me get my own parts if I’m able to find it cheaper. The quality of work they do here is just as good as the dealer if not better. After buying this car, repairs have been a nightmare, but Steve has helped me through it. I’ll be taking all my cars here and recommending everyone I know to come here. As long as I’m driving I’ll be coming to this shop. The work they do is as good as the price. Keeps money in my wallet and a smile on my face!

I would recommend this place to anyone in the Allston/​Brighton Area. I need my car fixed fast and they delivered. It was a lot cheaper than I thought it was going to be as well. They are very honest too.

These guys are the best. I have been going there ever since 1999 when a roommate told me about them. They dont take advantage of you not knowing what is wrong. If its an easy fix, they dont rake you over the coals like every other crooked service station. One example is I needed a part. They suggested used as new would be very expensive on a saab. He (I) called a few places and got part quotes and I could hear the prices quoted over the handset. He didnt mark them up at all and I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time with great price on labor. I’s son (I believe) Steve started working there a few years after my first time there. Steve is a great guy, super polite and professional and gets me in and out. I cant recommend A& I enough!

Fast, honest, and great customer service. I have used these guys multiple times since moving around the corner 6 months ago. From minor repairs on my last vehicle, to diagnosing it’s death, junking it, and then assessing/​fixing up my replacement I bought at an auction. These folks are the first mechanic shop that I have been enamored with, and a large reason I felt comfortable buying my new car at an auction versus a dealership. They’ve saved me a ton of money by being so good at what they do, and the amount of stress that I avoided during my latest car crisis alone certainly won both my loyalty and endorsement.

Amazing staff, great service and outstanding prices… never been anywhere with lower prices than here. they shop around for the cheapest parts and try to give you the best lowest rates. i got a cath converted for $ 480 after being quoted close to 1000 somewhere else! i would recommend this place to everyone! they are usually busy and it is obvious why!

I recommended my daddy to this auto shop because it was close to his job and his car is essential to his work!
We brought the van (Sienna) in and Stephen quickly diagnosed the problem. He shopped around and even called Toyota to make sure that he had the right part. As soon as he received the part, he called us in and had the van fixed in less than a hour!
My dad was thoroughly happy and says that he’ll be going back for any car trouble!
And the shop is also walking distance from MIXX and LOLLICUP, just in case you wanted to treat yourself to something delicious and don’t want to wait at the shop (:

This place is the best. I was driving out the pike from Boston and my truck overheated with plenty of coolant in the resovoir. Went online to see if I could find anyone to help me out but with very low expectations. That was about two hours ago (12.30 saturday afternoon. Found A&I, called and he told me to bring truck by and he would take a look at it. He quickly diagnosed the problem (thermostat), gave me a price ($ 80)and told me he would have it ready in about 60 – 90 minutes. I walked up to Tavernonthesquare for lunch and when I got back truck was just about ready. Only took about 15 more minutes and the bill came to $ 81.90.You just cant beat that.

I took my car to another shop they quoted me $ 900 to change my brakes and timing belt, A&I did it for $ 550 and had my car ready the next morning. Steve and I were awesome so polite I will definitely be taking my car there whenever I need any work done.

Took my 1996 Honda Accord in yesterday for a new radiator. I called them on Friday asking for an appointment, they told me they could fit me in on Monday and I thought that that was fair. Within an hour they called me back and told me to bring my car in the next day and they would fit me in. The shop is small, but they do a booming business and have a staff big enough to keep up with the demand.
I picked up my car within five hours of dropping it off and was pleasantly surprised that the price was actually less than what they had originally quoted. They charged me $ 400 LESS than the quote the Honda dealer gave me.
I would definitely recommend them, they have unbeatable prices and great service. My car is back to normal and I will definitely be going back to A & I for any future car repairs.
