WBZ Newsradio 1030

Miss the great Steve L. who was an interesting conversationalist, had a broad knowledge of music and brought a wonderfully wry sense of humor to his show. His replacement Bradley J is quite the opposite — boring and petulant — oh those promos for his show are ridiculous! I only tune in when Morgan subs and though he can be a bit grouchy about his trivia games, he’s a far better host and has a great voice.

I now listen again at night. Dan and Morgan seem to be making an effort to return the focus of this show to non-​abrasive, friendly and interesting topics.

Glad for the change, sorry Morgan White isn’t on more often, but Bradley J is coming imto his own with interesting shows…

While Dan Rea is a solid, thoughtful host the end of the Jen Brien Show is a sign the station does not understand its overnight audience. Jen is an intelligent woman with the ability to actually dissect the issues and encourage discussion from all viewpoints.
It’s a crime that the professional racists (probably three of them) have had such a disproportionate influence. Always afraid to discuss real issues with a realistic and balanced perspective. Nothing left at WBZ except Dan. How long can he last with this latest onslaught of stupidity?

Love wbz, couldn’t stand Jen brien. Her voice, the closet bigotry, the other bigots who called her show, the guest she chose. Been around since glick, and still listen for few minutes when I can stand Dan ray, another closet bigot. Overall I seem to be complaining a lot but, the take away is wbz is still one of the best stations around, but they need to get a handle on their nighttime line up.

Well folks, they did it. Jen Brien is gone. Morgan White Jr. read a statement from WBZ announcing the end of the Jen Brien show and the end of Jen Brien on WBZ this morning. 5 stars for that!

A long time WBZ listener I have listened over the airwaves from OH, VA, & even FL as my career has taken me around the country. For the past several years I have listened to Steve L. over my internet radio from San Diego CA. I think staying with WBZ for all these years and locatioins says something about my committment to the overnight show. That all came to an end when Jen Brien was hired. I only listened on nights where Morgan or Bradley sat in. Very happy to listen to Morgan this week and excited that the Jen era has been so short. Please let Morgan and Bradley share the time slot moving forward. I miss Steve Laveille, but do enjoy Morgan and Bradley J.

WBZ is a staple for news, traffic and weather. I have read some mean reports about Jen Brien. I also loved Steve Lavelli but I think Jen is a breath of fresh air. It’s like she is sitting at my kitchen table having a cup of tea and discussing her life events. I think she is trying to let everyone know who she is before she settles into controversail matters. For one, I really like her and hope she stays with BZ.

WBZ is a classic, the news is top notch and the signal carries over half the nation.
Daytime radio is all about news, sports and weather, Grade A
After hours there’s Dan, Jen and Jordan who all bring some good and mostly great stuff to the airwaves. Grade B
Dan can be grating, Jen can be quirky and Jordan can be overly artistic, but given their roles and the need to entertain they are the best in their crafts. I listen to them all, not ²⁴⁄₇ but they all bring entertainment to listeners who want to be enlightened on daily events, humored by the human condition and educated about the arts.
WBZ, job well done I continue to listen to your station via my car radio by day and, at night via my internet radio,

This station in the last two years has become nothing but ads that i don’t care for. With Viacom tightening its fist. there is nothing left — not even one shred of news. The feeds come straight from the government are not fact checked at all.
it gets 1 ½ stars as it only has its traffic and weather report. WBZ sucks.

I like WBZ for getting a bit of local news weather and, of course «Traffic on the 3’s». Some of the evening talk shows are entertaining, but others, particularly on the weekends, are thinly disguised infomercials that sell «snake oil» products.
It really takes the whole station down more than a notch when you have to determine which programs are genuine news or factual information, and which programs are just phony paid marketing hype.

Great signal! I used to work in Portland, ME. Problem getting the Boston stations… but not BZ! Crystal clear the whole way! And back.
Great information! Love the traffic on the 3’s and weather on the 10’s.
Excellent personalities… and even when a great one retires (which seems to be an annual thing now), they have another one come in.
Plus…for me. BZ is «Home». When I’m driving anywhere east of Chicago and north of Nashville… I can pick it up. And I also get it at home now via the internet.
What’s not great? Sometimes I don’t agree with the politics on the station, but that’s not mostly what they do… so it’s ok. And having someone disagree with me is ok too. That’s why the 5 star rating!

Best AM signal in New England by far. You can pick up WBZ at night in over half of the United States. They are all news from 5AM-​8PM, unless there is a Bruins game one. At 8 o’clock Monday-​Friday Dan Rea hosts a talk show, and he’s followed by Steve Leveille who has a broadcast from 12AM-​5AM. Dan is a right of center host, and Steve is a left of center host. For the most part both hosts do a good job at discussing issues rather than yelling over callers and guests. The weekend overnight host is Jordan Rich. Most of the time he keeps the topics light.
The news is done well all day long. You can count on traffic on the 3’s, and weather on the 10’s. Sports is at 15, and 45 past the hour. The news is reported with out any political slant all day.
You can get caught up on all that is going on around New England and the world in 15 minutes on your way to work. It’s a perfect station to get the news with no B. S, and from anchors who are professionals but not boring robots reading the news.

Great Radio station! They provide essential information during rush hours, storms, etc. It’s like internet for your ears.

When I was growing up and had the attention span of a dead rat, I absolutely detested WBZ Newsradio 1030.
Whenever I think of this station during my childhood, all I can picture is an insanely hot car driven by my «refuses to use air conditioning even in summer» father and the most boring up to the minute news updates. Weather on the 10’s? If I don’t get a snow day from school, I don’t care. Gulf War? I don’t even know what that means. Traffic on the 3’s? I have a Power Wheel — that’s all that matters to me.
As an adult, I have to admit that this station is my default setting on the AM dial whenever I’m in my car. I live by their traffic updates, weather reports, world news updates, and more. Even with an iPod and FM tuner in the car, I find myself listening to WBZ my whole ride anywhere. I can’t get enough.
Awesome broadcasters, accurate news updates, and interesting special reports will keep me coming back.
Sorry for my past hatred of you WBZ, I was only a child!
P. S. — Last summer I had an on-​air phone interview with Lana Jones and it was like talking to Jesus. Love her.

They do weather one the ones and traffic on the threes. I always tune into WBZ Newsradio 1030 partially because I’m an old lady and I need to know the traffic situasheeon when driving from my home in Boston to my second home 100 miles away. They are great at letting me know the trouble spots. Now, if they only could alert me of all the potholes and bad drivers along the way.

I have been listening to this AM standard for a long time. It is one of 2 AM presets in my car and I really find the traffic on the 3’s accurate and useful for my daily commute.
As I am a news junkie, I enjoy this station as it has breaking news as soon as it happens.
As I usually listen in the am and pm commutes I do find the same repetitive advertising annoying.

I hadn’t listened to the radio on a regular basis in about nine years, but recently my television broke. So I turned on this charming device of the 1920s, and quickly got hooked on WBZ. I bought a new TV, but I still spend more time listening to ‘BZ than watching that modern monster. In the morning, they’re so much more professional than the Today Show. I get the news, and that’s it. In the evening, I enjoy listening to commentary and listeners’ calls with Jordan Rich or Paul Sullivan. This is *so* much better than NPR!

AM presets are an after thought these days but I do have 1030 as my 2^nd preset after 850 WEEI Sports radio. In theory «traffic on the 3’s» should be useful but it only serves to let one know the current reason the car is sitting still on the Pike or 93.
