Coffee Brake is consistently outstanding, reasonably priced, and they have an awesome rewards-points program

The only reason I would travel the distance form rock creek to this place was the fresh roasted beans. Now they dumped the beans and became an average coffee shop not with wasting gas to go beyond Pete’s Coffee. The espresso is average and the drip it awful American diner, weak, bland drip. The Original Coffee Brake went from four star to one update It looks like the Roaster Dovetail has spun itself as a separate location.

I’m not much of a coffee person, so I don’t think I am going to be able to tell the difference between great coffee or bad coffee. I need my coffee blinged up with cream, and sugar, and chocolate and sprinkles, caramel and anything else you can think of to help diffuse the bitterness. It becomes dessert at that point, so I usually just pass. But I was visiting Oregon, so I figured I better have some coffee and trust my coffee lovin’ friend’s opinion. She liked it. She asked about it. And she asked if she could buy some beans to take home. It’s Dovetail coffee. It’s local and they roast their beans several times a week, so you are getting some fresh coffee. I loved my Mexican Mocha shake. Three or four shots of expresso, some ground up coffee beans for texture and Ghirardelli chocolate with cinnamon and nutmeg and real milk and whipped cream. Yeah, it was good. But it was dessert. Of course it was good. I finished the WHOLE thing, risking unpleasant caffeine high jitters and nervousness. It was worth it. Located in a supermarket shopping center with a homey living room set up inside with couches, and puffy chairs and some tables. Friendly service. The gentleman patiently answered all of our questions, including the non-coffee questions regarding directions and locations, since we were out-of-towners.

Good local coffee shop. They roast their own on site. Friendly, comfortable, not fancy-schmancy, just the basics; good coffee, competent service, good pastries, comfortable chairs. I like to sit and listen to the regulars solve the world’s problems.

The foundation of every good coffee shop should be great coffee, then Wi-Fi, then ambiance, then a little employee ‘flava’. I have purchased from OCB for a couple years, including supplying my office with fresh-roasted, pre-ground coffee through a corporate account. While I’m a little sad that the great aroma of on-site roasting doesn’t greet me anymore, I’m still pleased with the fact that the roasted beans are still fresh(through Dovetail in Beaverton), the aromas and complexity are still present, and the store is still a nice place to hang out. OCB is Aloha’s answer to Stumptown.

To me there are two kinds of coffee places: the ones that make foofy syrupy crap and the ones that make excellent espresso drinks. Ever get a mocha and swear it’s just hot chocolate? Yeah, those places. This, I am pleased to say, is the other: delicious espresso drinks, made carefully so that the true coffee flavor comes through. I had a nonfat white chocolate mocha, perfectly made so I could taste the white chocolate but also the bite of the espresso came through, gently without overwhelming. Nice.(By the way, it was someone’s first day, didn’t catch her name, but she was nervous about this being her first«solo» espresso drink without anyone to watch and help… don’t worry, you did great.) Totally recommend. Also, they have several food choices. I tried a croissant sandwich — your choice of turkey or ham, and(I think) swiss, provolone, or colby jack. I think he said it was supposed to be hot, but I was in the mood for a cold sandwich and that was no problem. $ 3.00 for a totally worth it, yummy sandwich. I will be back!

They have great house coffee and roast their own beans and you can taste that freshness. Their donuts are from Everyday’s down the street and are fresh and tasty. The people have always been nice, quick and courteous. I really like this place and their free wi-fi has been handy on many occasions.

I too agree, Coffee Brake is a great place to have coffee. They have a great selection to choose from. And the coffee beans are out of this world. This place has a real nice family atmosphere and you are always treated with a friendly attitude.

Easy to get to off SW185th and SW Farmington. This odd little shopping center is near dog park so easy for us. They roast their own coffee beans, sell food items, and have a long hallway into the place. I am not the coffee person in the family… so, I can only tell you what it looks like. Ask Jeff R. for his critique of the coffee.

Delicious! Coffee Brake is consistently outstanding, reasonably priced, and they have an awesome rewards-points program that keeps regulars like me happily loyal and coming back. The wait can be a little long during peak periods because there’s only one machine and a couple of employees ever on hand, but any place that makes a quality decaf drink, to my high maintenance specifications, is worth the wait. Try the soup(served with Dave’s Killer Bread!) and their amazing handmade cookies. Yumm. You have my business for good Coffee Brake; just keep doing what you’re doing. :-)

Great coffe in an unexpected place. Everyone is so nice and actually happy to make sure you get your«crack» Nice change of pace from uppity coffee snobbery located in most of oregon. Good coffee served to you by nice people.

I HAVE to have my grande Americano in the morning else I cannot function. Kinda hidden away in the corner of a shopping center, this is a gem of a neighborhood coffee place. As John T said, they roast their own coffee and I have 2 pounds of Guatemalan in my freezer to prove it. After the first day my husband went in, the staff recognized him and treated him like family every day after. We go here every time we visit family in Beaverton.

This is, by far, the best coffee I have ever had the pleasure of drinking, and I’ve had a few. The staff is amazing, greeting me with my usual everytime, and after I’d ordered for my wife a couple times, they remembered that order too. Amazing Amazing Amazing.

Wow. Just wow. I’m ecstatic that such an incredible coffee shop exists within walking distance of my house yet terrified at the thought that their hidden locale may destroy our relationship. Never have I had a more perfect Americano and their cold brewed toddy’s are to die for. Beans are roasted on site ensuring customer satisfaction to the last drop. This is the begining of a beautiful relationship. Oh slumping economy and poor location, please don’t take my coffee brake away from me. I would be so destroyed.

Tucked away on the corner of 185 and farmington there is a cute little coffee shop. It’s what you’d come to expect of a neighborhood coffee spot. Friendly staff that makes you feel like you’ve just step foot into home again. unfortunately for me i’m no coffee connoissuer, more of a coffee guzzler. yes i am addicted to this stuff and ijust can’t get enough of it. But i can tell you i enjoyed my coffee here. Only thing i wished was for them to be closer to me. A couple key things about this place that i don’t want to leave out, they roast their own coffee on site and i heard that they will be offering classes also.
