Denny’s

Worst Denny’s I’ve ever experienced. Upon walking in, a customer leaving tells me «don’t order the fish» — he said it was first brought out to him extremely soggy and when he sent it back, they returned it to him burnt to a crisp. I should’ve taken his warning seriously because things went downhill quickly. I waited close to 10 minutes to even be seated and the place wasn’t even busy, it was about 930 pm on a weekday. The lady who showed me to the table said someone would come take my drink order shortly. After another 10 minutes, that finally happened and it ended up being the same lady who seated me in the first place. When the sweet tea was brought out to me, it tasted something like sewage water with sugar in it. When the waitress finally came back to take the food order, I asked for a water instead (this took another 10 minutes to materialize). You do the math… it took this long to even place a food order. There were two waitresses and one host/​manager working the place and it was sinfully slow. After watching people not get their food for about 20 minutes in addition to watching another family receive their food orders incrementally, it seemed the only logical choice was to bounce out of there immediately. If you can spare yourself going to this place, do yourself a favor and eat the Flying J food… it’s faster, it’s probably better, and the employees are tons nicer too.
Oh yeah, and their «Free Wi-​Fi» didn’t work. But that was hardly the worst of it. If I could give no stars, I certainly would.

Typical Denny’s food but prepared properly without the mishaps and without waiting 45 minutes for breakfast foods.
The place that makes THIS location stellar is that the waitstaff, other employees, and atmosphere is on point.
We always have fabulous, friendly waitresses and we don’t sit under leaking ceilings. The food is always hot, cooked to order, and comes out at the same time.
That’s a lot to be said for a Denny’s, especially in comparing with the Belleville location. We actually drive from Belleville and Collinsville to this location because it the best of the 3 – 5 available to us.

I go only so often — But most of my time there isn’t well. Service isn’t well, always understaffed, typically dirty tables/​trash on floor. The food is well being a Dennys, so cheers to the cooks. But being a major chain restaurant located right off a major interstate, I feel the establishment should emphasize in exceeding simple employee tasks in order to keep the restaurant a pleasant place to go.
