All Fired Up

Took my wife for Valintines day. Had a great time. The staff is very helpful and fun. We will come back around Christmas to do more.

I recently moved to Alpharetta from Decatur and was ecstatic to find that there is an All Fired Up here!!! They have a wonderfully large selection for pottery, and there are many different stencils and techniques to use to spruce up your piece. The staff is extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is very welcoming and comforting.
A tip though — if it’s your first time just say so! The staff is very helpful and if you get stuck on a piece they can show you how to fix it or give you tips on what your next step would be. :) don’t be shy! Have a great time — I do every time I go. As long as there is All Fired Up I will be painting pottery. :)

[TL;DR] Nice place to unwind and do a little something creative. Feel free to bring in your beer, wine, and snacks to release your inner Picasso.
I’ve been here several times and have always had the same consistent experience — peace and serenity. Of course, it might be wise to peer in to make sure a children’s party isn’t in progress before you waltz in wanting to clear your personal space.
If you don’t know how it works, the prices for pottery will seem expensive since you could probably find the thing *finished* in a store for the same price … and sometimes less. Think about it though. You’re getting use of their supplies (paints, brushes, sponges, etc), they fire your pottery in their kiln, and you get use of their facilities until you finish it. One year, I made the fatal mistake of doing hand-​made Christmas ornaments as gifts. Off and on, I spent three days in there. (My hands also contorted into knobby, twisted limbs… but that’s another story.) No additional charge.
Anyway, lots of good places to eat nearby so make it a date. Go paint a little with wine, get something to eat when your hands cramp up, and then go back and finish it up.

I’m a creative soul and this place is my jam. A frequent visitor to the Emory Village location, we decided to #thinkOTP and try out the Alpharetta store this time. My niece was in town (age 12) and she loves to paint pottery. Also in tow — my mom who is 71. Where else can you find an activity that keeps 3 generations occupied and happy?
The staff was very welcoming — offering to show us around, give us their spiel, etc. I explained I had been to the other location, so they said just to holler if we needed anything. We went about picking our pieces to paint and picking out a table. My niece picked something medium, but easy, I went large and not intricate while my mom went small and super detailed… they have something for everyone.
I was thrilled they had Halloween items already in August — big plus for me. The beauty of AFU is that they have a ton of colors and you can use as many as you like and there is no charge for the time you are on site painting. Other places around town charge an hourly fee and allow you only 4 colors. Not here! Now common courtesy is in play — you leave the colors up front, and just put some on your palate to take to your table. You can always go back for more. I’ve never had a problem with this.
The staff is always willing to help, give advice, direction, etc., especially for the newbies, plus there are plenty of example pieces around to show you how colors interact (light on dark versus dark on light, 1 coat versus 3) to help you on your way. I’ve always been happy with my resulting piece. Usually, once you finish painting your item, the turn around to get your item back is less than a week.
A great idea for kids, grown-​ups, ladies night, bachelorette parties, really any group outing for creative folks! This location also does glass fusing — I’ve yet to give that a go, but it looks like tons of fun.

Amazing place! Love this and have returned many times! The prices are reasonable. You can bring in your own snacks & beers. Makes for a great project date night.

We have been to the location in Emory square and love it. But here we did the glass making the ladies working were awesome and were very helpful and always eager to help when needed and give advice. We loved our glass work and would go back again anytime.

The first time I came here was for a MNO with my MOMS Club chapter. We were able to reserve the location for the night and we had a blast.
We had so much fun that we decided to set up a special pottery painting event for the kids and moms.
This is one of my favorite places to go and I’ve always had a WONDERFUL experience. I’ve never had issues with their customer service and their staff has always been friendly and helpful!

Went back with my husband, aunt and uncle. This time, they get 1 star for letting us exchange one of the pieces that we had to hurriedly buy at our last visit. I’m giving a half star for their printing of a requested template and the other ½ for for managing to hold my husband’s interest for 2 hours. Thank goodness they have football helmets & car pottery.
The 3 stars they lose are still in customer service. Two girls were working last Saturday evening when we went in and there were 3 other small parties in the joint. My uncle has never done this and when he asked for some guidance, the response was «Well, sure, if you need it, but the instructions are there» as she points to a wall covered in plates. Maybe it’s just me, but I would think artist’s would be hired to run a place like this — and would show more enthusiasm for something that should be a passion. They were too busy looking at their computer, snacking and chatting.
Something about employees who treat their customers as an inconvenience irks me to no end!

This time, I have no more leftover pottery. I won’t be back.

I came here to be part of a surprise party and had a great time. Admittedly, it seems like a lot of the ceramic pieces are kind of expensive, but considering all the materials and supplies they provide you, it’s worth it. Even so, they don’t push you to finish by a certain time since you leisurely walk in and just paint a piece.
My date and I picked a gigantic coffee mug to paint. When I say gigantic, I mean, this thing probably could hold 3 gallons of liquid. We finished in the span of a few hours, but even the helpers asked us if we wanted to come back another day to touch up our mug. However, we were happy with it and the coffee mug actually came out nicer than we expected. It’s a little difficult to tell with the glazes while you’re painting, but these pieces really do look much nicer once they’ve been fired and have that shiny, polished exterior.
I think this place is great for groups, but it’s also a great place if you want to go some place by yourself and be creative.

This seems to be a staple of friends bachlorette parties. and family outings We go next door and grab a growler or 3… and then come on over and get our paint on. I have a tendency to paint food and water bowls for my Bassett Hound Id love to think that I am artistic and creative, but then i would be delusional. This is an outing that is fun for everyone, You can be artsy fartsy or lucky to draw a stick figure, and between the helpful staff and HUGE selection of things to do, there really is something for everyone, and now they have glass-​ery too!
Cant wait for them to put out the groupons again!

Hosted a birthday party here and the staff was incredibly accommodating! Very fun place to bring family and friends.

I didn’t really do much research ahead of time so I wasn’t really sure of what to expect. It’s a «main st» location, which is great to support. There were lots of choices and price ranges of wat you could do: plates, mugs, glass art, bowls, figurines, etc. I wasn’t given immediate direction on how the flow and process worked… but once I asked someone they were happy to point me in the right direction and explain it to me. I was by myself so I’m sure they thought I was a regular. There wasn’t a time limit for me to paint my bowl, which was nice not to be rushed, but I can see how it could be negative if you had to wait to get in. Overall it was fun and relaxing… but I think if you went with a group it would be much more relaxed. Let’s face it, most of us aren’t going to be creating a masterpice so it would be much more fun if you had a friend there to «make fun of yourself» with. Looks like a great place for kids to learn to do something other than play on the internet or video games.

We took our 6 special needs students to All Fired Up for a community trip. Their staff was beyond helpful and accommodating to our class. Sarah helped our students pick out their pottery and pour their paint. We will definitely be back to All Fired Up! We had a wonderful experience.

I picked up a couple of Groupon’s for this place and decided to try it — although it’s not my ‘typical’ fun thing to do.
I find «All Fired Up» to be a cool place. They have lots of different pottery styles — mostly geared towards women though. They offer reasonable prices on their pottery and all prices you see include the pottery, paints and firing in the kiln.
Unless you specifically ask for it, they don’t provide much instruction for you to begin with. Fired pottery is typically ready in 2 – 3 business days after you finish painting.
It’s a fun way to spend an evening and makes a great «date night» idea. You can even bring in your own wine or drink to enjoy while you paint.

A fun place to bring the family or friends for some art fun! Its off Hwy 9 in Downtown alpharetta, the inside is cozy with the walls lined with shelves of items to paint. Prices vary from a few bucks a hundred or so. There are plenty color choices, stencils, and tips to inspire you on your masterpiece. After you’re done, they’ll fire it for you and have it ready in a few short days.
It’s really a great place, but be warned that you may want to reserve a table ahead of time, as they do not have time limits for patrons to work on their art, so if you don’t reserve, you’ll have to wait.

I absolutely adore this place. Very relaxing environment and easy to work in. Great prices. Also wonderful for kids.

It’s a teensy bit of a hike from my Duluth home, but wow I love this place! Most of the times I’ve been there it’s been pretty empty, which is a bonus for me since I can’t really relax when your screaming brats are running around. :)
All Fired Up has a HUGE selection of pottery to paint, but I wish they had more colors, more brush selections and better pencils. Some of the staff is friendly, some eh. Overall, though — it’s the best I’ve been to so far and I will continue to go back when I need to de-​stress and make myself a lil present. Because duh — I like presents. Even if I have to make them myself.
