History

Established in 2012.

The story of how BlueHair Technology Group came about is simple. Jane’s brother called her about two weeks before their mother’s 86^th birthday in September of 2011. They had the typical conversation about «what to get Mom that she doesn’t already have,» but this time the conclusion was different. They decided to get her an iPad even though her mother had never even turned on a computer. As an educator and trainer by degree and experience, Jane knew her mother would need to see the benefits of her new device in order to keep her interest and reduce frustration. Thus, the idea for BlueHair Technology Group was born. Jane got her mother three months of iPad tutoring and by the end of it she was sending and receiving emails, interacting with family and friends on Facebook, and playing Words with Friends! Jane realized that this generation of adults needs personal training on current technology.

Business Owner

Jane is an entrepreneur who started the nonprofit organization BlueHair Technology Group in 2012, which is dedicated to senior technology education. She is passionate about ensuring seniors stay connected to family, friends and their interests through the use of technology such as Apple iPhones, iPads, Android Tablets, and social networking sites including Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube.

With jargon-​free student guidebooks and instructor guides, BlueHair Technology Group delivers fun, hands-​on and relevant seminars for seniors at Independent Living Communities, Senior Living Communities, and other private and public locations. Jane successfully recruits volunteers to assist at all seminars as well as behind the scenes development of curriculum, creating social media content and writing grants.
