Description

Specialties

Children Today Montessori provides a positive learning environment that empowers children to fulfill their greatest potential intellectually, physically, and emotionally. Our high quality Montessori school setting will nurture a love of academic pursuits as well as encourage the development of independence, self-respect, and concern for others. We believe children should learn how to work independently, under the careful supervision of a Montessori educator trained to work with children. Each child is generally in the same class for three years. This creates a strong bond between the child, parents, and teacher. Multi-age grouping allows the child to move on at an individualized pace. Our Montessori teachers keep detailed records and notes about each child’s lessons. Progress in academic, social, and emotional development is also noted and detailed summary reports are prepared for parent-teacher conferences. The extended daycare hours Children Today Montessori offers provides childcare with an emphasis on the Montessori curriculum. Ask us about our, infant, toddler, and primary Montessori programs. Please come and join us today for a tour and learn more about our childcare and Montessori programs for 6 weeks to 6 years old.

History

Established in 2008.

Children Today Montessori was founded based on the teachings and beliefs of Dr. Maria Montessori. She discovered that in order for children to learn, practical and accessible materials should be prepared for them and materials should be child-sized. During her observation, she realized that children should be given the freedom to choose. This freedom brings a great degree of independence. She observed that when children are occupied in their tasks, they are more relaxed and peaceful. The right environment is very important and effective in the development of a child’s education. It is this combination of practical life, mathematical skills, reading, writing, and a respect and understanding of nature that makes a Montessori child a unique person. Children Today Montessori is focused on creating a learning environment that fosters initiative, self-esteem, and the joy of learning.
