Convenient location. Friendly and courteous staff. Saw Dr. Michael Hung who is very thorough and knowledgeable. Always helpful with insurance issues. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for a new eye doctor I highly recommend stopping by here. The husband and wife who own this location (and have more) have been practicing for over 10 years and are very knowledgeable and experienced which makes ones visit pleasant and reassuring of diagnosis and hospitality being top notch. Prices are very reasonable and their front desk employees are also very nice.

My wife first visited Eye Elements due to a poor experience at another optical office. She could not say enough good things about Dr. Mike, the staff and her experience. I just went to them for new glasses and I could not agree with my wife more. Eye Elements is really amazing. Everything about the experience was just fantastic. I am really looking forward to my new glasses. Thank you Dr. Mike and Staff!

First, the good.
Everyone is friendly and tries to be helpful.
The place seems nice and clean.
That’s about where it ends though.
Here are the problems I’ve had, and it seems like i’m not the only one, looking at some other reviews.
1. They got my prescription wrong on the first go. I had to wait for the second set of lenses for a week.
2. The second time one lens came with a scratch right in the middle. I didn’t focus on it at first because lenses felt very strange for other reasons (read on for why), and I was going to take my glasses back anyway. Then by the time i got sort of used to them it was too late to bring it up.
3. They sold me the super thin (and expensive) lenses without providing any information on the pros or cons or any sort of choice in general. After struggling with my new glasses for 2 weeks i had to do my own research to figure out that there is actually a difference in visibility based on thickness and form, (and not all lenses are created equal!). What they gave me makes me see ok straight ahead but if i look even just 6 inches off to the side without turning my head — everything is distorted. And distortion gets dramatically worse the further off center i look. In 20 years of wearing glasses and many different eye doctors and different pairs of glasses, i have NEVER EVER had this problem. This is unacceptable quality (and lack of information/​advice), for someone like me who wears glasses all the time. I’d maybe understand if my prescription changed dramatically, but it hasn’t, so this makes no sense.
Overall, when i go to a doctor — i expect quality work and knowledge/​information to back it up above all things. After all, we pay crazy amounts of money for medical expenses. The «friendliness» and «speed of service» is secondary, any waitress or stewardess can offer that. Don’t rate this place just for that, because that’s not actually what you’re paying money for. I paid almost 600 $ for glasses that i feel *barely* comfortable with, and will probably have to buy other ones somewhere else soon. I will certainly not be coming back here.

This is an odd review, because the experience was both 1 and 5 star, because any vision place has two components to it. The eye doctor, Teri Hung, is wonderful and skilled, and got the contact lenses right for someone who rarely, ever, gets them right the first time. No issues there. There isn’t much to say about it — which is a great thing, because I mean, you should give a good thumbsup for the doctor and call it a day.
This is where it gets hard to translate the rest of the experience into words. The front of house, the part that sells frames, made me cringe so many times, even more so than Lenscrafters. Most designer frames, and many off-​brand, are made by a company called Luxottica. Eye Elements features a very limited selection of «high end» Luxottica frames, which is fine — limited selection, but I like a lot of the designer styles and have paid the King’s Price for them on multiple occasions. The sales people though, were, I don’t know how to really describe it other than just outright painful, more so than even a used car salesman.
First — they have no clue about their own products, calling Transitions a coating — when it’s a lens. You don’t «coat» transitions on a lens, it’s part of the lens itself — Transitions makes the lenses themselves, in addition, allow companies like Zeiss to make them as well. Secondly, they lied to me multiple times in order to lock in a sale or made me feel pressured to buy from them — which isn’t the case at all.
They refused to measure the PD, saying it created a legal liability for them. They can refuse to measure the PD, it’s absolutely fine, but it’s not a liability or against the law. The PD, or Pupillary Distance, is the literal distance from one eye to the other in millimeters. It can be measured with a ruler, by «dotting» lenses with a sharpie and measuring between, etc. I wanted the number to have a pair of frames re-​lensed cheaply (not at $ 240) for morning pre-​contact wear. The number was included on several previous prescriptions, so no big deal to me just had to go home and look in the filing cabinet. Additionally, it wasn’t as if I wouldn’t have minded buying lenses and frames from them at this point — the attitude completely changed it.
Next, they said that Chanel retailers are limited, and that they’re pulling them out of stores. This is and isn’t true. Luxottica designs and produces the frames and also own many of the big eyeglass stores (Pearle, Crafters, etc.). In 2012 they began putting Bulgari in as a replacement for Chanel in many of the stores, but that doesn’t change much of anything. While it is true you can’t get a discount on the frames themselves (same with some other brands like Oakley), you can often get a discount on the lenses, or even the lenses free, with a purchase.
Finally, they explained their lenses were high quality, and tried to scare me into thinking that if I didn’t get the lenses there they would suck. This is quite the contrary, as only a few companies make lenses (Zeiss, Seiko, HOYA, Kodak, etc.) and if quality is what you’re looking for, you can negotiate any lens brand and model with the retailer.
I realize that there is a need to make money — but it should be made with honesty and I would have been more than willing to engage them on purchasing some frames and lenses, if not for who I had brought, but also for myself, but instead we switched the contact prescription to Night and Day to rule out even the need for frames/​lenses. We ended up purchasing the same pair of Chanel frames at another retailer, with just the demo lenses for style.
I would say, if you want to just spend money to reach a goal, this is a fine store for you — especially if you want to have your kid lectured at, or made to feel uncomfortable (which I had to witness) because they want to sell more products. Otherwise, many other high end boutique stores in the area are much nicer and more relaxed, understanding that if you want it, you’ll buy it, and they don’t need to treat it like you’re on a car lot.
Oh, they also sent a writeup about the visit in the mail. It’s all boilerplate, though, kind of like the printout you get at the end of an ER visit.

I had a great first experience with Teri Hung O.D. I have a fairly complex vision situation and rather than just «treating the symptoms» she gave me the recommendations that I really needed. The specialist she referred me to was also fantastic. I will be going back to her for all my follow up.

It has been well over a year since I obtained my prescription eyeglasses. I waited to post my review because I wanted it to be fair and unemotional and I also wanted to see if the problem that I was having was related to just adjusting to a new prescription. The problem that I had with Eye Elements was related to their service policy. Their policy clearly states that if there is a problem with the prescription they will perform only ONE correction free of charge. This is where I made my mistake. Although I was told of this policy AFTER my exam, I proceeded with the order instead of just walking away. I never patronize businesses with this type of policy because it is not in my best interest. Anyway, in twenty-​five years, I had never had an inaccurate prescription so I expected that there would not be a problem.
The initial prescription was grossly inadequate; the correction was better but did not meet my personal expectations for quality and functionality. Fortunately, I have a previous prescription that I can use daily and I will just have my current service provider make the corrections for the new prescription so that it is not a total loss. I learned a valuable lesson. Always pay attention to the less than favorable reviews, (not the bitter, angry ones that are out to destroy the business but the ones that detail an honest and sincere experience). At the time that I read the reviews for this business, there were several positive reviews and only one that described the exact situation that I encountered.
So, in retrospect, the unfavorable review is the only one that was really relevant. In the end, I ended up paying way more for significantly less and the real treat: I can’t wear these new glasses in church because the light bounces off of them in a way that blinds me. I don’t have this problem with my other prescription.
Bottom line is this: Always be aware of the business policies and practices. If you can handle «worst case scenario» and don’t mind paying extra, then go for it. If not, think twice.

My visit included eye exam and the purchase of glasses. I only had to wait 5 mins before being seen. Dr Michael Hung was courteous and explained everything so that I would understand. The team is very courteous as well.
The only thing I would say is that I wish the Holcomb office had a larger selection of frames, but if need be, I could have gone to their Dunwoody office.

This is an excellent optical store. The doctor was very professional, clear in his explanations, did not pressure me for up-​sales and the office was stylish and clean. I was uncertain about whether my medicare would cover the costs and was expecting to pay the charges myself. But, they submitted the costs and assured me that Medicare would probably cover it. Good advice!

After some struggle of finding the right place to get my eyes checked and get new glasses, I came across Eye Elements through Unilocal.They truly deserve five stars for their exceptional services. They have great variety of eyeglasses that I was able to choose from. They spend their time helping you pick out a frame and go over your insurance plan. Everyone is friendly and the place is very clean. I will recommend this place to my family and friends.

In town on business and had an issue with my contacts. They were so nice, so accommodating, and took care of me as if I was a life long patient and customer. Thank Dr Teri Hung.

Erin at the front desk and Dr. Mike were both great. Nice place, nice folks. My glasses were spot on and arrived ahead of schedule. Exam was pretty routine and painless.

We found eye elements on Unilocal after making a move to Alpharetta, GA from out of state. First, the office is very nice and the staff greeted me with a smile. We filled out our paperwork and got started with minimal wait time.
I chose to have a picture taken versus having my pupils dilated. Dr. Hung pulled up the images and went over the different eye structures with me and proceeded to tell me that everything looked healthy.
For the past year or more, I have had spots in my vision. Every time I would mention it to other doctors, they would just blow it off and not really give me an answer as to why I might be seeing spots. Dr Hung was kind enough to sit down and explain the possible causes of the reason why I might be seeing spots and why he was not concerned. He even pulled out an eye model to educate me. Taking the time (an extra 5 minutes) really relieved my anxiety about the situation. He also said with my family history, he would take precautions as to screen me each time for glaucoma since I am at a higher risk.
I must say that I have never had a more thorough eye exam.
Finally, we checked out and the font desk was very helpful as to try to get us the best deal with out insurance (glasses versus contacts). Apparently our insurance was running a special for a rebate on a years supply of contacts so they provided us with the paperwork to take care of that. They also mentioned that they price match on contacts, which will be nice to know in the future.
I highly recommend eye elements for your eye care needs!

Found this places on Unilocal.I really enjoyed my visit with the doctor. Did not feel pressured by staff when picking out frames or lens options. Some places try to up sale you on items you don’t need. Highly recommend them.

Have gone two years in a row. Professional, relaxed environment. Dr. Mike explains everything clearly and the staff is very nice. No waiting. And you can slide into Starbucks when you’re finished!

I have been a patient for quite a while now and really appreciate their friendliness, professionalism and courtesy in all of my dealings with them. I have not had a bad experience with them ever so I would recommend them highly.

I have entrusted my eyes to Eye Elements since 2006 I think. At first I went because it was convenient to where I was living. Now that I live no where near this office, I still go because I trust Dr. Teri and respect her honest opinions and have never had eye CARE like this before. Go to Eye Elements!

I saw Dr. Teri today and she gave me one of the most thorough, comprehensive eye exams I have ever had. She took her time in checking my prescription changes, testing in several ways to make sure it was right. I also had no wait time! And she was very nice and friendly. Oh and their office is beautiful with a lovely selection of frames :)
