Mugs On Milton

This is a great local coffee shop. Their maple, bacon and cheddar biscuits are so amazing. They also make great scones (chai, lavender, cherry almond chocolate), unfortunately they often only make a few at a time.

This is a locally owned place which is a refreshing change from SB’s. Friendly service and excellent coffee.

Terrific home made baked goods and good lunches. Terrific coffee, latte, mocha. Nice people with plenty of seating inside and out.

What I love about this cozy café’ is the perfect boxed lunches prepared every day. It’s limited quantity, & everything is fresh made daily. When I need lunch to pick up for later enjoyment, this is ideal. It’s a tiny place, but they get what counts right!

Nice to have a coffee shop in this location. The space feels a bit stark and too big. The staff seems bored and not particularly friendly. Good place to work.

Hello new friend! I love this little spot on Main Street in downtown Alpharetta. I just started popping into this place for coffee on my way to work, and I really wish I could stay all day and curl up with a book. The staff is friendly, but not overly attentive. Their cinnamon muffins are my favorite, but they do not offer them every day (hint hint, Mugs). This spot definitely fits the charm of main street and I am glad they are here!

Went with a friend for lunch. This is not a good place for lunch. It looks like a great place for coffee or tea and a snack. They do have a couple of sandwiches available, but kind of like other coffee places with pastries and limited otherwise for lunch.
This is not to knock the place at all. Looks like they had a great selection of coffee and teas and scones, etc. Just not a place for lunch.

ADORE! This is such a lovely little pearl located in Alpharetta!
1. Delicious coffee. They get their coffee from Thrive: The THRIVE Farmers platform gives farmers direct access to the marketplace for their coffee, allowing them to maintain ownership until the point of sale by THRIVE. At that time, the farmer receives a fixed percentage of the revenue generated for their coffee — thereby avoiding any link to the commodity pricing.
2. The staff and atmosphere. What a lovely, welcoming little house of goodness all around. You walk in and are immediately transported into a warm, smile-​filled room filled with various coffee and tea options + food. How amazing?
3. The area. It’s has various little rooms throughout the shop to sit back and relax, or sit back and get some work done.
4. It’s also connected to other little shops so expect to grab some local art, a good book, or something for someone else that is just the perfect gift you could come across.
5. Food! Yes, they offer sweets and lunch items. I tried some sweets and they were delicious. I was there on a cold day so the warm coffee + sweet treats = bliss.
Post up and soak up this little spot that is just so special to experience.

PAR FOR THE COURSE!
My daughter and I stopped by this little shop for a treat. It is very casual and appears to be a place for social gatherings and free WI-​FI enthusiasts. There is a nice outdoor patio if you prefer to sit outside and take in the sights and fresh air. I ordered a simple oatmeal raisin cookie and my daughter ordered the savory cheese biscuit to go.
I tried my cookie right away and it was very good. It was perfectly sweetened and not oily at all. An experienced cook knows to soak those raisins so that they are nice and juicy and not tough and dry. These raisins were plump and soft and only enhanced the taste of the cookie.
The biscuit was less successful as it just tasted like a plain biscuit because the cheese was barely detectable. The perfect cheese biscuit should have a rich sharp cheese along with herbs and seasonings that compliment the cheese. If you dare to make a cheese biscuit in the south, you need to fully commit!
While the cookie was good, it was definitely not worth $ 1.25 especially to someone, (me), who bakes. I felt that the biscuit, ($ 2.50 ish), was overpriced too but I do understand that this is in keeping with the tone of «Downtown Alpharetta), and is to be expected.

Stopped in for morning coffee and breakfast. Two café au laits and two breakfast casseroles — the coffee is good and the casseroles were awesome. Generously sized and well prepared. Dog friendly outdoor seating is our choice — while the interior is charmingly eclectic, the music level is a bit too high for 9AM.
Having tried the afternoon noshes on a previous visit, today just confirms that this is a good addition to downtown Alpharetta.

Such a cute little place with the food made fresh daily. The atmosphere, service, and food were superb. Seating can be found throughout the small restaurant with various types of seating: tables, couches, single chairs.
I love the mom’s lunch box: sandwich (half or whole), chips (regular potato, BBQ, or rosemary and olive oil), and a cookie (oatmeal raison or chocolate chip). Yesterday’s particular special was either roast beef or chicken pesto. The sandwich was pretty tasty. I think the spicy mustard was unevenly spread since it flared up in my mouth and nose during random bites. I think the bread to meat ratio wasn’t proportioned as I tasted more bread than anything. It was good bread, but I’m just saying. Overall, the food was delish and fresh.
Parking can be found around the square or I think even behind the building since I did see a clear pathway winding towards the back. Don’t quote me about the latter though.

Cute place with good coffee. You can sit in the main café at a table or in the middle area (between the coffee shop and boutique) on couches. It’s pretty chilly in the middle area so they have provided blankets and space heaters. I was able to curl up with a book and still be cozy. A great place to stop when you need a break or pick me up!

Mugs On Milton is a perfect spot for coffee and something sweet. If ONLY their hours were more accommodating to my needs. I mean… I get started at 4PM! ;-)
You can get coffee by French press, which is nice, and something you should do if you haven’t yet. It’s closer than Land of a Thousand Hills so it’s my new spot for coffee when I’m not in a hurry.
Tried the blueberry muffin. There was only one left so we got the one that looks like how you would imagine the last Christmas tree on a lot to look… all disfigured and misshapen. Since there weren’t any others left, it seemed that it was a safe choice. It was DELICIOUS. Perfect complement to black coffee.
Stop long enough to enjoy yourself. You’ll love it.

I am not a coffee drinker so I ordered a hot chocolate. The taste wasn’t
good and was so weak all I could taste was the whipped cream.

This coffee house is A-​OK by me and I’m glad we found it as so far, this is the best coffee we’ve found in Alpharetta. It gets three stars vs four because really you’re still close enough to Roswell that you can get Land of a Thousand Hills coffee quite easily and they are far superior.
My husband wanted to go to Colette’s for their pastries this morning but I just couldn’t bring myself to agree to it given how bad their coffee is. I love their pastries, but in the morning, coffee trumps food for me. So, we did what we alway do and looked up a place to grab coffee on Unilocal before we got our pastries. We saw the pictures for Mugs on Milton and Ravi. B’s review and decided to go for it and stop by here on the way to Colette’s. I gotta say I agree with Ravi on their being a solid three stars. Here’s what we got and how we liked it.
Americano: This was my drink. I gotta say it was decent. Nothing spectacular but good. Their beans are pretty mild and don’t have that strong punch of slightly bitter, robust oomph I like in my espresso (blame my time in Italy I guess) but it was still good and had nice flavors. If you like a smooth cup of espresso you are gonna love this place.
Latte: Husband got this and just to make sure I could write a thorough review I had to try it ;). He got the large with an extra shot and it was good as well. Again, not bold, but very smooth with good flavors.
Dark Roast Drip: Mother in law got this and really liked it. Do remember to ask for room for cream if you like that as she forgot and had a hard time fitting it in the cup.
Hot Chocolate: Father in law got this and really wasn’t a fan. It was very weak and didn’t have much chocolate flavor. Wouldn’t order it again.
Ambiance: This is a ridiculously adorable coffee shop with little rooms of seating both at tables and in sofa/​arm chairs. It also has some nice outdoor seating which if people actually walked around Alpharetta would be a good people watching zone. As is, it’s good for car watching I guess lol.
Overall this is a cute little spot for coffee in Alpharetta but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here. Their coffee is unoffensive and is sure to appeal to a broad range of people. I also assume that their hot chocolate would be good for little kids who don’t like strong flavors. We didn’t try the pastries but they looked nice, especially if you like cookies and quick breads. I’m sure we will be back as it’s a great place to sit and sip a decent coffee close to home.

Cute little place! The staff was really nice and accommodating, even providing recommendations for my friend who likes tea. I could tell they really know the different types of coffees well, because they had a poster on the wall differentiating the details of coffee that people don’t think about usually probably. Like I don’t really think about the little differences between a latte and a cappaccino, but now I can begin to appreciate the differences and become a better foodie. I didn’t want too much caffeine, but I want to come back and try a mugger one day! I also want to try their coffee without the sugar-​free almond I got, to taste the coffee better. But it was nice to walk around Alpharetta Square afterwards and it was a nice day out.

Mugs on Milton is the perfect spot to stop and smell the coffee, and smell the cinnamon buns as well! While not a destination in itself, if you are in the area this is a great independent coffee shop. The baked goods are made there and are done well. Service is great!

Currently enjoying a superb cappuccino and am in LOVE with their ham jalapeño roll. I’m debating buying another one to eat later!
Great atmosphere inside, quaint and beautiully decorated. Very modern and relaxing.
Will be back!
