Basically it’s cafeteria food. I’ve only done take out, so not sure about service. Chicken fingers are decent but the veggies are from a can and the mashed potatoes are instant. I prefer fresh food, so not a fan of this place.

I have heard about this place from my family — I was in town and finally got a chance to try them out. There were 12 of us — 9 adults. They got us set up and ready in little time. I had the country fried steak with the cucumber salad and sweet potato soufflé sides. The amount of food you get here is massive… come with an appetite! The food is also very good and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and professional. There was never a time that we needed something that they weren’t right there taking care of us. Overall I really enjoyed myself — I can see why my family raves about this place!

We have been to several Roasters around Atlanta. Just as all restaurants go, some have better service and food than others. This has always been good. No complaints. Like to selection of food.

Our go-​to is the chicken finger appetizer and any one of the sides. Here is the kicker: if you like gazpacho theirs is amazing! We fell for it last summer and could not get enough. You have to call them to make sure they have it since it is a specialty item.

Writing this review from Lins Chinese Cuisine next door because after 20 minutes of sitting and waiting for a member of the wait staff and watching to other tables that came after us get served we left! Thought it was because they were busy but when the other tables were attended to even though they came after us, it was clear that my party was to dark to be a priority. Never been but the Unilocal reviews coaxed me into going! Well, I guess I’ll never know cause I’ll never be back.

Wow! This place was on point during a busy dinner time last night. Had great menu selection, food was served fast and hot. Ambiance was not what I expected, in a good way of course. I had the chicken fried steak. The portion could have fed 2 people– they were huge! And the service was Outstanding! (Thanks Carly)!!

Great service and a very well managed restaurant. We have tried a lot of different items on the menu. The blackened fish special is quite good as well as the chicken. The BBQ is very underwhelming and I think they should really consider removing it from the menu. So many more places to get good BBQ and this is not what they do here. As others have mentioned the rolls are fantastic as well as the sides in general. If you want a solid meal with great service at a reasonable price this is your place.

We LOVE this place and eat here 1 or 2 times per week. The Chicken Fingers, Meatloaf, Lima Beans, Okra and rolls are to die for. Really everything I’ve had there is good. We like the take out service.

Not sure how this place has the # of stars it does. Vegetables were atrocious. So mushy. I’ve had better veggies at a retirement home. The reason I am giving this restaurant two stars instead of one is the chicken wings. The wings were real good. I’ve eaten here only once. I may have been a bad experience.

I was surprised to find a place on Unilocal with four stars that served typical tavern food so I decided to give it a go. Mike, my waiter was very attentive and made sure my order came out accurate and fast. Their rolls are very good as well as the corn bread muffins that they give you prior to your entrée and hit the table within the first 60 seconds of being seated. It was also nice to be able to get real ginger ale that was not some mix of Sprite and Coke that the bar keep mixes up.
As far as the food, I was underwhelmed. I had a combo of rotisserie chicken and wings. In both cases the meat was on the dry side and was served warm, not hot. I can understand the rotisserie not being really hot, but the wings had been fried earlier and not upon ordering them. I assume that this may have been due to the time of my visit, around 5:00pm. I would like to think that had I come during a busier period two hours later that it would have been fresher. The ‘famous’ rotisserie chicken was on par, if not a bit below, a similar chicken from the Kroger deli in the same shopping strip and was one of the smaller chicken quarters I have had at a restaurant. The corn was basic steamed corn and the Mac and cheese was basic too. I did not get the impression that any of the items were prepared fresh. The sauces for the chicken were good.
I am not complaining as they met my expectations for a restaurant of this type. The disappointment stems more from the glowing reviews from other guests. I mentioned to Mike I was from out of town and it was my first visit. Later the manager stopped by the table to thank me for visiting and gave me a card for a free dessert. I very much enjoyed the house-​made key lime pie.
In summary, GREAT service and attention by Mike and the manager out front but they need to revisit the kitchen in back and the balance of speediness vs. quality of the food. This would have been the difference between the two star rating and a four star rating that I would have preferred to give

The Server was overall nice, but a little rude when one of my coworkers ordered a kids meal, because he doesn’t eat large portions. The server told him «were gonna stop this soon, or have an upcharge», so my coworker asked if they had a lighter plate option and he simply replied «NO»… tone was a little rude. Other than that the Rotisserie Chicken and Sweet Potato Casserole was AMAZING!!! Great prices, and we will be back.

A great meal at a more than reasonable price. The menu feels like home cooked and reminds you of grandmas cooking. We didn’t know what to expect and weren’t in the mood for BBQ, but it was close by and convenient.
Not only was the service unparalleled, but the food was fantastic! To boot, you can’t beat the prices! More than enough delicious food on your plate and a very attentive staff. We took some home and enjoyed it the next day. We can’t wait to come back!

Roasters is your typical american food chain restaurant. However, they are known for their chicken tenders. They always come highly recommended by a lot of people. i highly recommend it. They are fried and cooked perfectly. They come with your choice of dipping sauce — the most popular choices are bbq or honey mustard. This place gets VERY busy during a typical lunch hour. The area it’s in is always busy during the lunch hour as well. The sides are fantastic. I’ve had several different sides such as the mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, fries, broccoli casserole, steamed broccoli and many others. I have not had a bad one yet! I’ll keep coming back for more! OH and don’t forget about the complimentary sweet cornbread! It’s amazing!

The dinner rolls you get before your order are light fluffy and delicious. For the entrée I got to try ribs, brisket and roasted chicken all of which was cooked and seasoned to perfection.
Had a chicken and rice soup for my daughter that was salty but they swapped it out free of charge for another soup. Server was on point and very nice.
This will be a frequent visit for me and my family, can’t wait to go back and try more!

Love coming here to get veggies and roast chicken.
Not sure why we don’t go more often but I have always enjoyed coming here.
Food is good and service is good.

Great place for takeout. The baked potatoes are good the chicken is good and the greens are good as well. Quick easy and a great option for a family who is hungry.

EXCELLENT service, amazing food AND the management was wonderful. We went there for the first time a few weeks ago, and we complimented the quality of food to our server. I guess our server passed along the message, then the manager gave us a coupon for a free dessert since she had heard it was our first time there. So nice. We are definitely going back soon!

I’ve eaten here 20+ times and I’ve probably got it figured out.
The food is good. Don’t worry about that. The servers are good.

I think the corn bread would be better if it wasn’t consistently under-​cooked. I like a tiny bit of crunch, but they’re always borderline soggy.
Overall, a great lunch spot!

I have mixed feelings about Roasters. It’s a great idea and one of the few places you can go to get home style vegetables but it’s not foolproof.
Tonight I ordered the turkey plate that was supposed to come with a turkey breast, dressing, cranberry sauce and two sides, for which I picked okra and turnips. The turnips were sensational, the fried okra was a little overcooked but not inedible.
The problem I had was with the turkey and the dressing. The turkey was not really turkey breast, it was sliced sandwich meat that they warmed up and put on top of a spoonful of boxed cornbread stuffing. And there was no cranberry sauce with my meal.
Little things like that make a big difference to me. I didn’t want turkey sandwich meat, I wanted turkey breast and I know what turkey breast is supposed to look and taste like.
Service was great, temperature inside was fine, sweet tea was really good.

Great food great service. Best corn bread in Atlanta by far.
The veggies are always tasty and prepared in a southern style. Not going to be the healthiest you ever had on the more elaborate dishes but ohhh so hummy.

Want to go healthy and just get a quarter or half roasted chicken? Super good!
Staff is friendly service always good and again if you go with me and try to take my cornbread I will punch you in the jaw. It is just too awesome to pass up.
