Poor customer service! Don’t bother with this place and go to Saks or Nordstrom. Only two people working on a Saturday night. Went to buy two Trish items and girl behind counter didn’t even look up until I asked her to help me. She was counting out a register to close at 8:35 which is fine, but at leafy acknowledge me! When I asked her if she could assist me when done she was so nasty. Who needs that?! I will spend my money elsewhere. Lots of choices! Not at The Cosmetic Market.

I LOVE makeup and skincare. Seriously. If you’ve read any of my recent reviews you’ve seen that I’ve just endured almost unbearable pain just to have a little laser work. So when I spotted a cosmetics store at Avalon I was thrilled. The thrill didn’t last long. I’ve been in the store 4 times and they have this weird system where if you want a product you have to find an employee to retrieve it. Maybe this is just for the higher-end products but it is really obnoxious if you are shopping for several items and you have to keep finding an employee to get things for you. Their brand selection is pitifully small, don’t expect the name brands you’ve come to know and love. They have a store brand, Bobbi Brown and a couple of other brands but this is not Sephora where you can get ALL the high-end brands. Not to mention that customer service is in the toilet! It seems that there are only 2 employees in the store at all times and they have been so busy restocking during all of my visits that I felt like I was just a bother. You know how when you go to Sephora there are people that ask about your skin care needs and if they can show you new products, or give you samples, or help you find a product? This place is a pale imitation. Hell, I hate Ulta but I’d prefer an Ulta at Avalon over this store. At least at Ulta you don’t have to dig through drawers hoping some employee will come help you and they have a large selection. I have trouble seeing how this place will maintain its prime piece of Avalon real estate with the lack of product and service.

I frequent Avalon for dinner and movies, however haven’t done much in the way of shopping. I have passed by The Cosmetic Market several times but Saturday was my first time venturing in. My husband and I were killing time between dinner and the start of our movie. I was in need to pick up some essentials that had just run out. Upon walking in we received no greeting. There we a few other couples/families inside but it wasn’t terribly busy. The 2 employees that were working the floor were conversing with each other, not paying much mind to anyone else in the store. Upon finding the bareMinerals counter and selecting the 2 products I needed, I stood and waited for someone to greet me and ask if I needed assistance. Bear in mind that at this point we were the only customers left in the store. The 2 employees were still in deep conversation and did not acknowledge my need for assistance. At that time I decided to take matters into my own hands and started browsing inventory drawers for my products. After a few moments and several drawers, one of the employees decided to ask me if I needed help. Since I had already found one product in the drawers I handed her the other and she started to look for it. Once she found it and pulled it out of the drawer she proceeded to DROPITONTHEFLOOR then picked it up and handed it to me. Needless to say, this was a terrible customer service experience from start to finish and I won’t be frequenting this store when visiting Avalon in the future.

Just had the most wonderful experience at the cosmetic market. The service was incredible and both my mother and I had the best brow waxes ever. Yolanda was not only delightful but an incredible aesthetician! Sue, as well, was extremely kind and generous and we really appreciated her help!

I love this place! The staff are so well trained and helpful and if they think you might like a different product line than the one they specialize in they’ll get the rigfht person for you to work with-no competitive attitude or only pushing which ever product line they get the best spiffs from. Unlike Sephora or Ulta where they don’t bother to make sure the products will work well together and that you aren’t getting duplicate use products these people actually seem to care that you get the right stuff for you and will have a working skin care program when you get home. I worked with Yolande with the Omorovicza skin care line(which is the most fantastic skin care line I’ve ever used. It has taken years off my face by giving me a glowing complexion). She took her time and worked thru the entire product line, listened to what I said I liked and didn’t like, assessed my current skin condition and put together a package for day & night that is easy & gets results! If I have a change in my skin, or I want to try something to see if I can get a better result Yolande is right there with suggestions. She also makes sure that I get to take advantage of all the specials and promotions. I live in Los Angeles and this store is in Georgia but it hasn’t been a problem working with the store. A phone call or a text and my product is shipped right out. I always get a return call promptly. As long as I keep getting this kind of service I’ll be keeping my shopping long distance!

I love this place! Albeit, I don’t think I’ve actually bought makeup from there. I wandered in the first time I was checking out the Avalon, and I love makeup, but when I walked in I walked directly back to the giant wall of candles they have. They have some of my favorite high-end candles including NEST, Archipelago, and have some local made ones that smell amazing as well. They’re expensive candles, but I already knew that. They make my entire house smell great. Every time I run out of NEST candles I high tail it up to the Cosmetic Market.

Went in to browse and find some new makeup, left with nothing. Why? Well, the ladies who I presume are hired to «help» customers were too preoccupied discussing things among themselves and putting make up on each other to help any customers. We, at the very least, expected a hello or some form of acknowledgment while in the store. They did glance our way a number of times, so I guess that counts for something? Don’t waste your time. With such poor customer service here, you’re better off going to a department store, Sephora, or Ulta where they truly WANT to assist their clientele.

Came in here cus I was with some female friends and discovered that they sell Molton Brown products! They had a beautiful gift box set that came with a body wash and a bar soap that was instantly purchased! No more going through the pesky mall to get to Neiman Marcus or Saks. This place is pretty big and it may seem like a female-only store like a Sephora, but they actually have some mens products too. What really made this trip worth while was after I made a purchase, they gave me a whole bunch of free samples! Some male-oriented face washes, hair thickeners, scrubs, etc.
