USPS

USPS is completely worthless and rude. They’ve lost 4 packages I have sent out this year and everytime I call for customer service the women are rude, interrupt me, and start acting crazy with me. Your job is customer service. Quit if you can’t handle it.

The workers behind the counters are fine. But the mail carrier we have is total crap. she complains that the mail box is blocked when it isn’t. She is too lazy to get around a car and deliver mail to the neighbors and left us the nastiest note. If you try to talk to the supervisor the ever more crappy lady up front will not let you, thinking she is some mini version of the almighty. My guess is that the supervisor is pretty useless too.

Don’t even get me started. I’m an Ebay junkie so I spend plenty of time at the post office. This one is the slowest, surliest, poorest managed post office I’ve encountered in four counties. The employees behind the counter are so inept (1 doesn’t speak English, 1 should’ve retired 30 years ago) that they give poor advice and the employee on the floor has to correct their mistakes. I, myself, have corrected their mistakes after they’ve given people poor information.
With the exception of one, all the employees I’ve encountered are beyond rude. I had to step in once when one of the floor employees became verbally abusive to a non-​native-​English-​speaker with passport questions.
Top this off with a letter carrier that outright refuses to leave her vehicle, lies about delivery attempts (ever had to tell the IRS your letter was lost in the mail?), reports packages delivered and then delivers them 3 days later, and you have the perfect storm of bloated, lazy, surly government employees. I’m still waiting on a supervisor to return my call, it has been 2.5 months.
Jeez, I have an intense dislike for this location!!!

Rude rude rude If you want to be treated like crap definitely go here. BTW they ONLY take appointments for passport and passport renewal DONT believe he web site!

I visited this post office after hours and I’m just really surprised at what you can do after closing time. The lobby is open 24 hours so you can purchase stamps, address and mail packages. They have free boxes available so that you are able to pack up your items prior to shipping.
Here is something I noticed– the new automated stamps are really cheap. They are super thin and I actually miss the weight. I understand that this is probably just their latest effort to save money.
They’re ok in my book and still cheaper than UPS when it comes to shipping packages.

One of my packages is labeled as «delivered» for over a week now online, and I have been calling the post office daily to try to talk to my carrier. Each time I am told that my information has been given to some supervisor and that I will be contacted soon, and yet I keep calling back to no avail. No one knows what’s going on with my package or the status of my situation. I’m mad at myself for not asking for names each time I’ve called because I would love nothing more than to call these government employees out by name in this review, but when I call tomorrow… for the 6^th time, I will start taking names. Today was the final straw, however. Whoever was working between 2−3pm answered my phone call and proceeded to chat with someone repeatedly interrupting me. She didn’t take down my information, didn’t provide me with any customer service at all whatsoever, and told me that I need to call in the morning because she can’t do anything for me in the afternoon. She wouldn’t let me get a word in, wouldn’t let me tell her that I’ve talked to someone about this previously and wouldn’t answer any of my questions. She was clearly trying to get me off the phone without having to do anything. Worst customer service I’ve experienced in my entire life. And I still don’t have the package that contains a gift for my friend whose birthday was over a week ago now.

This is a bad post office.
I had 6 packages to mail, each one express mail with return receipt requested. The post office opens at 8 AM on Saturday. I walked in at 8:03 AM, putting me the 4^th person in line.
It took 45 MINUTES to get this done, making me late for an appointment I should have had plenty of time to get to.
Why did it take so long? Well, the first customer in line asked for something, and the LONE service rep started LOOKING AROUND for something the post office had MISPLACED for the customer. Seriously, the guy was WONDERING ALL AROUND THE POST OFFICE, looking in bins, drawers, closets and God knows what else (like you might look for misplaced car keys or something).
And while he was looking (including being out of sight in the back for long stretches), NO ONE ELSE came to the counter to help people in line.
Finally, they FOUND whatever it was they were looking for. I overheard them explain that someone had «accidentally placed it in the outgoing mail slot.»
That whole fiasco took about 25 minutes. Then, they finally started helping other people. And of all times, THIS is when a second clerk opened up! So within a minute or two it was my turn.
Then, it took the clerk TWENTY MINUTES to mail my 6 packages express mail with return receipt! I already had the express mail forms and the return receipt forms filled out. He had to peel them apart, affix them in the right places, weigh it, and go. TWENTY minutes.
This could have been handled SO MUCH more efficiently if Customer Service was even the 9^th item on their priority list that morning! Hopefully there’s a better run post office somewhere nearby, and if so, by all means avoid this one.

This was an ABYSMAL experience! I had a passport appointment today to get my first ever passport. Came with the paperwork filled out, the photo already taken, my identifying info, etc. And then I waited… the appointments were running 45 minutes late. FANTASTIC! So much for getting back to work on time! Further, I don’t think they grasp the point of appointments! Why did I call ahead a week ago to reserve this time slot if they had no intention of keeping it? Anyone? Anyone? So I sat around in this tiny waiting area that was already filled with many people who were also waiting, staring at mailboxes, wondering if anybody would ever come out and acknowledge us. Eventually someone did.
Ok, so… I’m a woman, and a recently married one at that. But no problem, because my driver’s license has already been changed, my name is legally changed… no biggie. OR SO I THOUGHT. The extremely frazzled employee who was apparently left alone to handle all these applicants (at one point she rudely blew up at a woman who asked a logical question and had to issue her an apology) challenged the fact that I was BORN WITH ONE NAME AND NOW HAD ANOTHER. Well no sh*t! I got married! But my license is correct, my birth cert is there, I have listed all other names I used in the past, etc. She tells me my ID is not sufficient and I should have brought my marriage license, my SS card, etc.
Let me just say this… those documents are at home and I COULD have brought them had there been ANY mention of needing them. Nowhere does it say this is necessary. It is ONLY listed as a requirement if I already had a passport and needed to change my name on it. But this was my very first one, and my license was current with my legal name. (I’ve checked the government website again and again confirmed the documentation she asked for is not listed as necessary for my situation). She basically told me flatly I was wrong and hassled me for more documentation with my legal name… I provided her an insurance card and a bank card. NOT ENOUGH, she says! She wants that marriage license and SS card. Again, I own these items, but I did not bring them, as there is NO EVIDENCE anywhere online or in print that a woman who got married needs to prove she got married when her government issued picture ID is correct and current!
Miss Sunshine took all the info I could give her and informed me that the government would probably be contacting me for that information in a few weeks… which of course delays my passport. Great! I’m traveling the first week in December, and now we’re losing minimum of 2 weeks due to needing documents that are not listed as necessary. However, she’ll take my PERSONAL CHECK as payment! They’ll take my check but they’re telling me I can’t prove my own identity? Makes sense, right?
Anyhoo…I asked her if I should just come back with all the proper documents and make a new appointment (after being there over an hour past my initial appointment time). She wants to process now. Ok. I ask if I should just go ahead and mail in the additional documents to the government. She says no, they will only get lost. However, if all of this ends up taking too long and I now need to pay for expedited shipping on my passport, I can send them a check. Ok, so let me get this straight… if I send them my personal documents, they’ll lose them. But if I send them a check for rush shipping they’ll receive it just fine? WTF!!!
Anyway, she took my money and «dismissed» me. These people are understaffed, seem to not know what rules are printed on the government website, and can’t explain anything that makes any kind of sense. I’ll be lucky if my passport gets here BEFORE my trip (which is more than 10 weeks away). With this chaos and short-​tempered staff rudely snapping at people, I’m surprised they can even FIND the post office, much less process any paperwork for them! Ridiculous. I hope to NEVER go here again!

I remember back in the day when Alpharetta was the zipcode 30 201. Then (gasp), created a 30 202! At some point, it was growing so rapidly, they changed their zipcode system entirely (to 30 022, 30 005, and 30 004). Well, the post office on Old Milton Parkway couldn’t handle it all, so they opened up this location.
I remember when they did, this place just seemed bigger. And much nicer.
And then time went by…
Getting in and out of here during rush hour is a no no. The place looks like a depressing jungle due to the lack of lawn care/​landscaping. The exterior is a painful reminder that we may no longer get mail in the future. The thing they used to call a postal store with all of your shipping needs and collectible stamps, well that is just whitewall now.
However, they do have automated machines now so you can go in there whenever you need to get stuff to get ready to get delivered. This place is also one of the few locations that you can your passport taken care of (as I did so here in 2003).
At least the actual people who work inside are friendly, but the one who delivers the mail. …. … …

SUPER BUSY location and not very many people working (like two)!!! I have to say, they have TWO self-​service machines that let you mail packages and buy stamps. Not sure why everyone waits in line when you can do it yourself and be in and out if there’s a line!!!

I lost my passport, so I had to appear in person to get a new one for my upcoming trip. When I realized that it meant a trip to the post office I wanted to jump out of a moving vehicle — I hate the post office. I called 3 locations that have passport services to get an appointment — the first said I couldn’t get in until August (this was mid-​June); the second left me on hold for 45 minutes before I hung up (I only waited past 5 minutes to see how long it would take); the third was this location.
My appointment was 3 weeks later and I just knew it was going to take 9 hours. I walked in already pissed off because I just KNEW it was going to suck. And that’s when a very nice lady told me to come with her. She was super friendly, efficient and a smartass. I like smartasses. We had a good time joking around, but didn’t waste time. They have photo services on-​site and I arrived with all my paperwork filled out properly, so it was easy. We were done in less than 20 minutes and I was a happy camper!
I couldn’t believe when I left that I’d actually just had a very positive experience at the post office. Who would have ever dreamed?
