Altadena Town & Country Club

I have had the opportunity to coordinate 2 weddings that were held at the ATCC. I have worked with both Sandy and Stephanie on the Events staff and have been been impressed with both the venue as well as them.
ATCC is an excellent venue in what they have to offer, the choices of rooms and their outdoor wedding locations.
Maria who handles the catering is amazing. She truly made my job easy and her staff does an exceptional job. The quality of the food, the ability to accommodate to changes that are ever present during weddings and the partnership is very appreciated.
I have handled many weddings throughout California and by far the Altadena Town and Country Club by far exceeds them all.

Note: I am solely writing a review based on Stephanie, the manager at Altadena and not the venue as a whole. My fiancé and I have been shopping for venues to host our ceremony and reception in 2016. While we did not choose Altadena in the end, we were so grateful for the help and generosity of Stephanie. She is very welcoming and attentive. She listened as we described our vision and did a very good job in accommodating what we wanted while at the same time keeping within our budget. If you are looking at wedding venues, please consider Stephanie and Altadena to host your event!

I attended and was part of a wedding entourage at AT&CC late in the Summer of 2015. The venue had that old but not so dated Foothill charm with the San Gabriel mountains as the backdrop. Janet Adriano, the wedding coordinator, did a great job organizing and overseeing the setup of the wedding and the reception that followed. Everyone had an amazing time.
The ceremony itself was held in the garden right below the wraparound balcony. It was surrounded by 10 foot tall hedges on 3 sides for privacy and the main building of the country club on the other. It made for a nice, intimate setting for all the family & friends of the wedding couple. It was a beautiful space which was made even nicer with the white event chairs, archway and arrangement of flowers above where the couple was standing. One of my good friends from high school was getting married and I knew then and there why they picked this venue. It was the place for them, for sure.
The reception was held in the banquet room closest to the wedding ceremony garden. It was a beautiful space. The chandeliers were nice, the ceiling had a vaulted look to it that I liked, the lights that they used to decorate the room was beautiful and the kicker of it all was the huge window that gave a magnificent view of the foothills. It looked amazing on that clear late summer day.
The food wasnt bad either. The bread they served was good, followed by a nice dinner salad. The main course was a plate of roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, baked salmon and filet mignon. Tasty. It was better than your standard wedding reception fare. The nice touch I thought was that the couple opted for a «midnight snack» being that the guests would have certainly been hungry after alll the dancing we did thanks to the amazing deejay that evening, DJ Bstang. He kept the party moving all night and even the employees told us they have never seen a wedding reception have the dance floor full before even the bread was served and until last call. HAHA… That’s how we do! Thanks DJ Bstang! The midnight snack was cheeseburger sliders and tomato soup. Boom! There was also supposed to be ice cream sandwiches but that didnt happen. Booo!
The only negatives I found were that the bartenders were a little off. It was a hosted bar and when it came time for the bar to open, they were unsure they could. Their supervisor, this asian lady, was against starting the hosted bar up even though the ceremony had wrapped up and it was certainly time for it. She was not hiding her displeasure with the bartenders. That wasnt cool. The wedding coordinator had to intervene. And the bartenders were cutting people off that shouldn’t have been. That was not cool either.
The common restrooms which were used by both banquet halls were small and dated. They need to upgrade those. The carpeted floors in that hallway also need upgrading as they were creaking beneath your feet. Other than that, the venue was real nice and I would recommend it to anyone. Valet parking is available. Be careful parking in the neighborhood as it’s limited so definitely read the signs.

Run, don’t walk, to go see Stephanie. She is one of the event coordinators at the club. Stephanie made planning and organizing our event so easy and stress-​free. She thought of everything and made some amazing suggestions that went a long way. She’s a sweetheart too!
I would suggest booking The Victorian, the larger ballroom, even if your guest count will fit in the smaller ballroom. The Victorian has original hardwood throughout and a large bay window that looks out onto the mountains.
The food was surprisingly good as well. No rubber chicken dinners here. The filet was delicious and cooked to a perfect medium rare.
I can honestly say that our event went without any hiccups and the venue was amazingly beautiful. The prices were incredibly reasonable as well! I would highly recommend booking your special event here.

Came here over the weekend for a wedding. Left still hungry. The only dish we had was a light salad and roasted chicken w/​mashed red potatoes w/​carrots and green beans. The food wasn’t good. Some of the chicken that came out was very light (like mine) and some were very dark in color. It was not consistent in cooking and the chicken lacked flavor. After being hungry spending the day at this venue for a wedding the meal was less than satisfying.

I’ve been a few times as a guest to the person I am staying with right now. The place is beautiful, huge, has a lot to offer, and has friendly staff members. I got a tour of the place and it is very nice. The gym is small, but looks great. I was here for the Labor Day picnic and the birthday bash party for members’ birthdays for September.
I think the food is not good at all here. During the Labor Day lunch and the birthday dinner bash. It looked great, but I was not impressed with the food at the country club. It was good, but not as good as expected. I think I could cook better tasty food myself compared to what they serve here.
I think if I had the option to get a membership here, I would pass it up because I am not impressed with the factors you get for a membership here. I’ll keep my eyes open next I go back to see if this place improves, but right now I am not impressed. Sorry.

Attended a wedding here on 8÷22÷2015. It was a beautiful wedding! The place is huge. The wedding took place on the grass area (Sorry don’t know the name of that area). It’s right next to the tennis court. But whatever it is it was beautiful. The venue had lots of photo ops. The place is clean and the room we went to was beautiful. It had the old Spanish look, with a 90 degree porch. That day we just did valet. The food was amazing. The salmon and steak, oh so good! I’m glad it was both and not just one. Salad and bread, YUM! I not sure if it’s the alcohol that made me hungry and everything taste so good. But it worked I guess. The after dinner dance snack was grilled cheese and tomato soup and cheese burger. OMG it was so delish. And it’s not because I was faded but it was good. Staff was friendly. They have a parking area but we just did complimentary Valet.

We had our wedding this Summer at the ATCC, and it was incredible. We had our ceremony on the South Lawn, and reception in the Victorian Room. Stephanie, our coordinator was a dream-​come-​true and made planning and the actual event so easy that I feel guilty for how relaxed we were for the whole experience.
Stephanie was on top of all details during the entire planning process. Even as we sent her email after email requesting tweaks and additional items, she took them in stride and always had a list of great options waiting for us. She was warm, helpful and understanding for the whole endeavor.
On top of the amazing experience, we were also upgraded to South Lawn/​Victorian room free of charge. The grounds for the ceremony were absolutely beautiful. The ceremony went perfectly (we even missed the impending thunder storm by about 5 minutes!). The reception was beautifully laid out. The view out of the East window into the Altadena mountains was breathtaking, and the raw beauty of the Victorian room meant that we needed only minimal decorations.
The staff on point and helpful for the entire event. We didn’t have DJ and ran the entire wedding off an iPod, and the staff was there to help us with all technical questions. The food and service were also phenomenal. We had the Pan Roasted Chicken Breast, and Sesame Crusted Salmon. Both were amazing.
Looking back I can say that I can’t imagine a better wedding experience, and if we ever do another large gathering like this again, Stephanie and the Altadena Town and Country Club will be our first choice.

Great setting, not so great service.
I am part of a group that books this location yearly for an event. I have to say that the grounds are absolutely beautiful, classy, and special. It’s a lovely atmosphere. My complaint is about the catering service.
The wait service here has never been totally consistent, but the last event I attended was quite bad. At the beginning of the event, half of the settings at my table were missing bread plates (asked for them and received them 5 – 10 minutes later). When we progressed with the meal (which consisted of salad and a grilled chicken breast) half of the salads on my table had no dressing… had to ask for that too. My plate was unexpectedly cleared before I was finished eating. When dessert came, 7 guests were served and 3 were not. I asked for dessert for the rest of our table but it did not come until nearly every one in the room had moved on to coffee. There was one server serving 90+ people and she was jumping from table to table doing this and that. Not very well managed, and the catering manager seemed irritated that I was being so needy (like… needing plates, and dressing on my salad… and dessert…).
So that’s my review. Hopefully someone over there will see this and make some changes. Such a shame to have problems that could have easily been avoided with a little bit of attention and maybe an extra hand to help.

Where do I start?! My WHOLE experience with this venue was nothing short of EXCELLENT!
My husband and I got married here and we were soooo lucky to have Stephanie Duran be our coordinator through out it all! Before we met with her we went to several venues and we met people that you can tell do it because it’s their job but with Stephanie you can tell she loves doing this and you can see her passion at all times. She was excellent to communicate with, great service at all times and made it so easy to plan even with the little details.
Everyone at the wedding loved the venue — I loved the outdoor ceremony that we had, the cocktail area where we had the hor d’oeuvres after the ceremony and before the reception at the Victorian room.
On the day of the wedding everything went smoothly and everything that we had planned for was delivered perfectly. Please check this venue out, you truly won’t regret it.

Talk about excellence in service, a luxe yet chill venue and amazing food & wine, Altadena Town and Country Club sure has provided us with all these and more!
We came today to attend their open house event (Re: Weddings) which I have to say was no less than perfect in every which way, Presented on the second level in the Victorian & Mendocino ballrooms was an amazing wedding display, cakes and table settings from vintage to modern simplistic. The cakes vary from vanilla to chocolate cakes, buttercream and fondant, and a selection of fine yet rich and divine chiffon cakes — it was an absolute dreamscape especially if a wedding plan is in the works! Special mention to Polkatots Cupcakes for such a lovely-​lovely presentation! Cupcakes so beautiful and delicious it breaks my heart to eat it! (but I did), Champagnes and mimosa’s were ready for the taking, a very nice touch adding to the luxurious allure of ATCC!
The hors d’oeuvres were amazing, amuse bouche that truly excites the palate, beer selections from the light summer ales to bitter sweet IPA’s are served in flights, mostly local selections which is actually a really nice gesture and show of support to the local breweries by ATCC! The wine selection is actually my fave! A flight of fine wines from the crisp chardonnay (hello Cakebread!) to the amazing selection of reds; a lovely Pinot Noir — so smooth and mellow, a glass of Merlot and my favorite the Cabernet Sauvignon — so rich, full bodied without the oaky-tannin’ish bite.
We had such a great time at Altadena Town and Country Club, many thanks to their amazing attentive staff and to Tracy — The Food and Beverage Op. manager, today’s event can only be summed up as «perfection»
Great weather, fantastic displays and vendors, lovely folks, awesome food and beverage and a great staff.
An absolute asset to the community of Altadena.

We just had our wedding at Altadena Town and country club and I do not have enough wonderful things to say. First of all I loved the venue in and of itself. We ended up using the room downstairs that has the balcony connected and our guests loved having the opportunity to be in or outside.
Most importantly the staff was wonderful. The captain, the servers, and the bartenders were all a step above any other wedding I have ever been too. My guests also told me how great the service was and how they felt very well taken care of. Also, as I mentioned in my previous review, Stephanie is great. On the day of she helped with everything we needed even when we had a little mishap with some flowers. She made the day rub so smoothly for us.
Overall, I would recommend this venue to anyone. The food is excellent, the staff is wonderful, and the way they treat you is like family. If you want a perfect wedding day book here!

I went to a friend’s wedding here and it was absolutely gorgeous!
We were running late unfortunately and weren’t sure where we had to park but luckily a valet immediately came to us, we told him we were here for the wedding, and he took our car so we could go right in. It was so quick I almost didn’t have time to grab everything out of my car!
Their ceremony was right outside in a cute little courtyard with a beautiful archway. Plenty of room for chairs and cameras, though I sunk in the grass a few times in my heels (ladies beware!). The reception was just up a flight of stairs, no driving necessary! It began with a cocktail hour with two very nice bartenders and many friendly waiters walking outside on the patio with appetizers. A photo montage of the happy couple playing in the background as they took pics downstairs. My one complaint was that it was outdoors only for that first hour and it was a chilly day.
The doors to the reception finally opened to reveal a gorgeous ballroom, complete with chandeliers, a big dance floor, tons of tables, and a spectacular panoramic view. Dinner was delicious, they served a half chicken half beef as their main plate so everyone was satisfied. The rolls and salad were delicious as well and the bar was still just outside the door.
They also had a photo booth out on the patio where cocktail hour had been, which was a fun wedding touch. Though it was not part of the venue, it shows just how spacious the place is for whatever type of even you’ve got in mind.
I’d love to attend another event here.

Wedding Venue Search #3
I was really excited to tour this place. I researched a lot of different pictures and videos of past weddings that took place at the Altadena Town and Country Club and they all looked amazing. Reviews were all positive. It seemed like it had everything I wanted: outdoor garden area for ceremony, greenery for pictures, large windows in the reception hall. I might’ve had my expectations too high though because it wasn’t what I thought it would be.
The Country Club is a lot smaller than I imagined and the entrance less grand than depicted in pictures. The interior is quite old and the carpets have seen better days. The bathroom, however, is clean and modern (although only 2 stalls for women’s). The two rooms, the Mendocino and the Victorian, also didn’t look as big in person as compared to the pictures (props to you photographers for making everything look so good!). But I’m sure once it’s dressed up and everything is set up, it would look pretty amazing.
The max capacity of the larger room, the Victorian, is 240 seated without a dance floor or 200 with dance floor. But honestly, it looks way too small to fit that many people comfortably. I can only imagine chairs touching each other in order to seat that many. I think 150 people with a dance floor would be more realistic. I do like that there’s an outside patio/​cocktail area though. And this area also overlooks the lawn where larger wedding ceremonies take place.
PROS:

CONS:
–dated building
–small bathrooms (there’s definitely going to be a problem with that during parties…)
Overall, this place isn’t too bad. But it definitely won’t fit my estimated 230 guests comfortably.

Here is a wedding guest’s perspective on Altadena Town & Country Club. I feel a little self-​righteous and wrong for reviewing someone else’s venue but I figure it may be a welcomed alternative perspective for venue-​hunting couples interested in their guests’ overall satisfaction.
I witnessed my co-​worker get married here last night in a beautiful ceremony and reception to follow. Valet was complimentary which was an awesome first impression.
SPACE: The lawn for the ceremony and the room for the reception were both intimate and gorgeous. The side room was a bit on the small size, especially once the photo booth became active. It might have been the size of my living room and there was a Boba tea station and the open bar set up in that room along with the photo space and props table. Add the influx of foot traffic for all the guests passing through the stations and the staff working them, it became a bit of a cluster.
FOOD: Everyone at my table agreed the food was okay. We all had the filet mignon and chicken, each with a different delicious sauce, with mashed potatoes, spinach and carrots. Both the meats were a tad overcooked. I am sure a huge part of the budget is the food and the bride and groom really want their guests to enjoy their meals but, in my opinion (for almost all weddings), the food is the most forgettable part so I personally would choose a cheaper plate option. Coffee was terrible.
SERVICE: Attentive for sure. These guys were at your beck and call. However, I think our server might have a loose screw. Three at our table went out to smoke a cigarette and came back to find their salads gone. Druu said he cleared them because the main course was coming… 20 minutes later. He also removed all 8 of our FULL champagne glasses because «the toast is already over.» We were all puzzled because not one of us remembered there being a toast and every other table still had their glasses. Well, the bridal party later did their speeches and there were three toasts to follow. We toasted with water glasses. Druu did not apologize. But no one was upset. It was more funny than anything. Also, the two bartenders really had their work cut out for them during the beginning of the cocktail hour for 130 people but they were pretty speedy and pleasant.
Overall, I was really impressed with this club and would be excited to come back if any of my other friends chose to get married or have an event here.

My husband and I just had our wedding at the Altadena Town and Country Club and I must say, we had a blast! We were so lucky to find this place and work with the people there! Sandy, the Director of Catering & Special Events, was amazing. She went above and beyond to help us out with anything we needed. She was so understanding of the changes that needed to be made and even took time out of her day to be there for us at our ceremony to help us out. She answered all of my questions quickly and was so very patient with us. She and the rest of the staff at the Altadena Town and Country Club really helped to make our day special. The food was super tasty, the service was awesome, and the venue was beautiful. All of our guests complimented us on our day… we couldn’t have been more pleased to celebrate our day here! :)

I recently had my wedding at Altadena Town & Country Club and I do have to say that the venue and staff exceeded my expectations for our big day. Sandy, the Director of Catering & Special Events, was a pleasure to deal with from our first meeting. After a tour of the venue and in particular the main ballroom, the Victorian, my (now) wife and I knew this was the venue we wanted. After a couple meetings with Sandy, we signed the contracts. Over the course of the next 10 months we went to an Open House (to sample appetizers), Diner Tasting and several follow up meetings and our initial feeling never wavered. The big day actually posed a few obstacles, notably weather. The forecast was for rain, which led everyone to scramble. There were some showers the day before and morning of along with light sprinklings through the day but Altadena managed to make our outdoor wedding work. They blow dried the grass and everything worked out great. One of my favorite moments was when Sandy saw us arrive in our car early in the afternoon. She was actually in her car on her way out and turned around just so that she could give us an update in person. It was really nice of her and more than unexpected.
In any event, the rest of the day some how went off without a hitch. The weather parted and we had our outdoor wedding. Cocktail hour was smooth with ample delicious appetizers and 3 bartenders making drinks. The Victorian Room was beautifully decorated and the service was impeccable. Maria, I believe Catering Manager is her title, is simply amazing. She was on top of everything and even managed to help the bridal party get drinks before the bar officially opened. We received so many compliments about the venue, the food and the service from our family and friends. We were incredibly happy to have been able to have our wedding here.

Our son’s wedding was here on October 4^th 2014. Though not the organizer, the service I observed was very attentive and excellent. We did not handle the contractual arrangements so I cannot say anything about cost, except to say that those who did seemed very happy with the arrangements. However, the setting was perfect! The ceremony was held on the outdoor courtyard and the reception was inside with the large glass windows with mountain views. I thought everything was very beautiful, & the staff very helpful. We had many compliments on the setting and the food. Overall it was a very smooth and beautiful experience for the family and guests. I was very happy with everything I saw, it was a beautiful day.

This is a wonderful place in Altadena the setting could not be better. So close to the mountains with great views. It feels like your hours away from LA. The staff is very nice and the manager is A+

I’ve attended two weddings here at the Altadena Country Club, one larger wedding as a coordinator (ceremony in the big lawn and reception in the larger ballroom) and one smaller wedding as a guest (ceremony in the courtyard and reception in the smaller ballroom), so I feel like I can give a pretty good review!
CEREMONIES
*For smaller groups, the courtyard is gorgeous. It isn’t grass so you don’t have to worry about heels getting stuck and all that, and it’s naturally really pretty so a few flowers here and there are all you need. It also has a really natural path from the stairs to make entrance/​exit easier. Only downside is that it feels a little less private — there’s a gym next to it where people were working out and a few people dining on the patio you walk by and/​or the bar that you pass on your way there.
*For larger groups, the lawn (with hedges going around) is lovely. It’s in more direct sunlight but feels more private. If you have a really big wedding, the aisle arrangement is a little more awkward (hard to protect it from being walked on because there isn’t space for walkways on both sides) but it’s still pretty.
RECEPTIONS
*The food is pretty good. I clearly remember the mushroom puff-​pastry entrée I had recently, which was fine, but others were very happy with their plates (lots of options, I’m sure)
*The ballrooms themselves are really pretty with HUGE gorgeous windows (that I think were in a movie… or two?)
*The big ballroom has another small room off to the side that you can open up if you need the extra space, but note that those guests can’t see what’s happening quite as much.
LOGISTICS
*The location is very unassuming (it’s in a residential area) but it’s peaceful and feels a little bit secluded, in a good way.
*Shouldn’t have to say this, but keep in mind there’s a LOT of traffic getting to this part of LA and there aren’t many airports nearby, for guests flying in
*The coordinators for the venue are very helpful and the food/​banquet captain knows her staff well, but note that you should probably plan on having your own coordinator/​planner as well, someone who helps set up the little details (escort cards, dessert table, signage, extra pictures, etc) just as reinforcement.
*Wish they had a more substantial parking lot. They have a few spots that you don’t need to valet for, but otherwise it’s valet valet valet… which can get a little hectic when 200 guests are trying to leave at the same time.
Would be happy to answer any other questions you might have… but overall, a really nice venue.
