History
Established in 1957.
We have been Western Altadena’s neighborhood library since 1957 when we were called the Arroyo Seco Library. We are one of 2 branches located in Altadena, CA. Due to Prop 13, we closed our branch in 1978, but happily reopened in 1991 and was renamed the Bob Lucas Memorial Library and Literacy Center after library and literacy advocate, Bob Lucas. This Branch currently houses, Let’s Read Altadena, the adult literacy program.
