Princeton Montessori Academy

This daycare left us with nothing but sour tastes in our mouths. There is not adequate observation or interaction with the children; often there are 10 – 12 toddlers (2 year olds) and one teacher. Better hope your kid isn’t potty training cause they can’t take time to take them to the bathroom often enough. When we potty trained our kid, the director told us we were doing it wrong and skipped steps and they didn’t really support us. Even though we told them 1 – 2 months prior we were starting. The teacher don’t communicate well. If you drop your kid off before 730 – 8 any information doesn’t get transferred over. Even better after about 2 – 3 months our kid came home spitting and learned a swear word – we do not swear at home or around the kids and haven’t since they were born. Teachers do not communicate with parents; you could go over a month and not speak with anyone. Accident while at school? You’ll only know by the clothes in the cubby and they’ll offer no explanation. Your kid comes home with a cut, the only way you get notified is if you ASK for a report and even then they might say they don’t know. In short, if you are okay with bad habits, no communication, and lack of attention: observation of your child, then by all means pick this place. If not, I suggest looking elsewhere.

So many reasons to love the school. Well educated staff, amazing play yard and a ballance of academics & play!!! All the children at the school learn to love learning! My child talks about the planets, ocean zones and can read and write all at 4 years old. So happy to have found this gem of a school! It is wonderful to know my child will be ready for elementary school years.

We were excited to introduce our 2 year old to the Montessori teaching method. That is the main reason we were attracted to this particular daycare. After our tour and initial introduction to the classroom setting, we were comfortable with their program.
After the first couple months, we began to notice some things at home. Whether it was a bruise, cut, scratch, or skinned knee, etc– the response from the teachers (and director) were ALWAYS the same. «Oh, I didn’t notice anything, I’ll have to look into that» and every single time, their investigation turned up no results. Finally, the last straw is when the Director suggests that the injuries «may be self inflicted» SERIOUSLY. yes. My 2 year old (almost 3) scratched himself on the eye, in 2 different places. And I strongly suspect that he will wind up with a black eye tomorrow. So, the fact that they continuously lose the Tupperware and utensils that we send, clothing and hats with the name on it, no accountability for injuries… knowingly violating the teacher/​child ratio per the state of CA. This facility should be ashamed of the way they operate. I strongly urge any parents that are in need of daycare services to keep looking. Their price is attractive, as is their «teaching methods» but at the end of the day, you will likely have to deal with a Director who has too much on her plate, acting as director, teacher, and parent to one of the children – and she is spread too thin and I feel she has a hard time separating herself from her different roles. Glorified day care, very little structure or attention to individual children’s needs.

My daughter has been going there for almost a year now, since she was 4 month old and we are very happy with it. The teachers are great (Miss Lola and Miss Amanda), and the place is clean. Miss Lisette, the Director, is very involved. This is a tiny school, so every teacher and assistant knows my daughter and call her by her name. I know she is safe and happy there.

My daughter has been in Princeton Montessori for 2 years and I daily see, at home, the reflection of everything she’s learning: academics, continents, songs, poems, hand writing, and many more…
The concerts are very entertaining and well organized.
Ms. Kelly is a great teacher (Ps. Montessori certtified). The other teachers are good and dedicated, too.
Ms. Lizette is a great director.
The school is neat and clean; that’s the reason why we chose it among the other school in the area.
They always bring outside entertainment for the kids, and my daughter loves it.
I highly recommend it.

Our child has been attending for over a month now and so far so good! I’m impressed with the level of care. I get the feeling that all the teachers are genuinely happy and engaged with the kids.
I visited a ton of day cares before deciding on Princeton Montessori. Some of those other day cares were just scary — it was like Lord of the Flies! But Princeton is different, the kids are never left to their own devices or just running around and screaming.
Plus the teachers do art projects with all the kids, even the babies — it’s so cute! I also like that I can call anytime and check in or just drop by whenever. They have an open door policy for parents and that puts my mind at ease.

There seems to be about one teacher for every seven students and most of them are amazing! When my little one is in their care, I haven’t a worry in the world. Thank you

First of all every parent will agree with us that choosing the right day care is one of the most important things that you do as you are entrusting these people with the care and well being of your child.
This day care is one that we have come to lose that trust with a number of incidents that have happened with our 18 month old. The staff is negligent with the children & what these people have done is not acceptable.
In the 3 first incidents we received phone calls by the Director but this last incident we were not notified nor was a report given. However as I was leaving one of the assistants came outside to tell us as we left and said it in a laughing non important manner that my daughter was bitten by another child.
When I called to find out who bit our child the director said «I don’t know, let me transfer you to Amanda (assistant) she was there» So after getting Amanda on the phone she told me that she was instructed by the Director that she could not tell me who bit my child per their policy.
We found this unacceptable so I went back to the school & asked the the owner to find out and when she asked we found out that it was the Director (Lisette’s) daughter who bit my daughter. The owner didn’t even know about this incident until I went back into the school to ask questions & get an incident report.
Is it a coincidence that Lisette told my husband on the phone that she didn’t know?
And when the owner demanded an answer it turns out that it was the directors child.
It’s clear that they were both protecting her child and her job from seeing any discipline. It is also very clear to us that our child nor anyone else’s aside from Lisette’s is protected there.
We understand accidents happen, unfortunately, the staff members at this daycare act in a negligent manner and children suffer injuries which is not right.
We highly recommend that if you want a safe, fair place to leave your precious child, this is not the place… I will never take my daughter back to that daycare.
