Charter Pointe At Altamonte

Talk about a bait and switch. This complex is nothing as advertised. I was shown one model and given the low grade, 1990s model. My unit upon moving in had a hole in the closet door, water stains on the ceiling, the luan board in the kitchen was discolored and falling apart, my dishwasher stunk to the high heavens and the central air smelt like mold. I put in numerous work orders with maintenance and it’s no exaggeration that they never showed, in 6 months, I couldn’t get a single person to show up at my complex. I was told my the front office that they’d notate in my file about the problems so it wouldn’t be held against me when I moved. Ummm… ok.
The garbage is always overflowing at the dumpster, the pools are rarely cleaned and parking is a NIGHTMARE, the train the comes through about 6 times a night is the worst. My last straw was my neighbors got into a domestic fight, I called the police because I witnessed the man throw the woman down the stairs. Fast forward 2 weeks, the man is out of jail and he comes to my door and starts kicking. I called the police again, then called the office. I was told by the office it wasn’t their problem and to continue to call the police when it happens. I was 5 months pregnant at the time, the next week I packed up and moved, broke my lease and never looked back.
The location IS great, near the hospital, the mall, Publix, Winn Dixie and parks. They should capitalize on their great location and fix up the complex. Update the units, empty the garbage, clean up the grounds, add more parking, hire reliable maintenance. The complex has potential but it’s poorly run and poorly kept.

I have been living in Charter Pointe Apartments for 2 years and I have been very satisfied with my stay here for several reasons. 1) Safety: Peace and quiet; since I have been living here I have never heard an argument amongst neighbors nor I have never seen the police out here for anything. I have been outside all times of night and never been or felt unsafe. 2) Location: Close to everything in Altamonte; the location is close to the hospital, medical centers, restaurants, Altamonte Mall, Cranes Roost Park and Maitland business district. 3) Management: Friendly; I never feel like I am intruding or unwelcome whenever I approach management about anything and they have always treated me with the utmost respect. 4) Neighborly; I don’t know a lot of neighbors because I am a private person but the people I have met have been helpful and friendly. Unlike many apartment complexes where I have lived they mind their own business and respond kindly whenever you say hello. 5) Maintenance: Although they are older apartments if and when I ever have a problem there is a maintenance worker at my door even before I hang up with phone and if it is a problem that they can’t fix right away they explain what the problem is and the estimated time that they will be able to complete the job. For the price, location and experience that I have had here I would recommend it to someone that wants to live close to this area without having to spend an arm and a leg.

Old apartments and old amenities. I do not live there, but it seems like they have an issue with fixing issues in a timely manner. My boyfriend had a leak in his apartment from the ceiling and it took them a couple weeks to come look at it. When the air conditioning went out it took them a few days to come out and fix it. When the upstairs air conditioner was leaking into his apartment they fixed it in a timely manner, but it was the 3^rd thing that happened within a 6 month period. It seems like they need to upgrade all of the apartments before new tenants move in.

I’ve been living here for about 5 months now and I can not wait until my lease is up and I can get out of here. The apartments are old and the appliances are outdated but that doesn’t exactly bother me. If there is anything wrong with anything in your apartment don’t expect it to get fixed the first time. I had made several maintenance requests because my ac wasn’t working and after a week of no ac in the hot florida weather they decided to fix it rather than just looking at it. Just recently I made another maintenance request and they never even showed up! I’ve made three requests online and my bf even went down to the office but still no one came to help us. For two weeks I’ve had a broken garbage disposal and dishwasher, I eventually decided to fix it myself. At the same time of the garbage disposal and dishwasher i also said my fridge was broken. I’ve lost most of my frozen food because they never came out to fix my refrigerator. Thankfully, it randomly started working again on its own.

I’ve lived here for over 4 months now and it’s been very nice. The apartments are older, but in good shape. They keep the grounds very clean and are always making improvements to the property. There are 2 pools (one newly renovated) that are very nice, and new laundry equipment. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. I live in a downstairs 1 bedroom. There is little noise from my upstairs neighbor, and the apartment is very large for the price.

I’m currently in the market for a new apartment and I decided to check these out since they’re near my office.
When the leasing agent walked me up to the 1 bedroom loft (which was super cute in the photos, btw) we heard some sort of fighting and talk of shooting someone. It was to the point that the agent left me to try to quiet them down because she was «showing off a unit». She later explained that the tenants were celebrating a child’s birthday which would have been okay had they not been super drunk at 5:15 on a Monday night.
Red flag, folks.
The grounds themselves are in need of serious upkeep, but the leasing office is in spectacular shape. Don’t be misguided from the pictures. Most of those are of the office.
The stairways were rusted and the units are made of mostly wood exterior.
Once inside the loft, I noticed that the appliances were extremely outdated and the paint on the drawers was hastily finished. Really not impressed.
I really loved the layout of the place on paper but it’s not worth what they’re asking. For that price, I should get updated counters/​appliances. Also, drunk and disorderly neighbors on a monday right after work doesn’t sit well with me.
This place may appeal to some, but not for me.
