Abbey Ridge Brewery

We loved this place. Brought here by our wine tour guide and she didn’t steer us wrong. The food and service was great. The owners even came out to chat with us. They seem to only advertise their business by just word of mouth. You have to get the pretzel… it’s huge and the dips were good. My bf had the beer flight, I think it was 8 – 10 beers. He loved every one except one. Wish we could have stayed longer but had to get moving to the next winery. We’ll be back the next time we’re in town.

My family and I love this place, and we’ve been going since they opened. They have excellently friendly and attentive service, and the food is great. There’s certainly more of a choice now than there was when they first opened! My father loves their pale ale, The Joust, and my mother and I often get a delicious Most Delightful Coffee. The atmosphere is fabulous and the location is beautiful. The only complaint we have is the parking lot — it’s a little difficult to maneuver sometimes.

First off, beautiful location. The first day/​night we were there they had a fire pit going outside and a bluegrass band. The service was outstanding. The beer they brew was substantially better on our second visit. I had the catfish upon the servers recommendation, and it was great! Large piece that was perfectly fried. Definitely a great place for a road trip or stop on the wine trail.

Didn’t try the food, but the menu seemed like your standard pub fare — mostly sandwiches and fried appetizers. I did enjoy the beers. I feel their beer is unique and «a work in progress». I enjoyed a few of the brews, but I know the typical Miller Lite and Sam Adams drinkers wouldn’t like them at all. The oatmeal chocolate stout was very good, as were the raspberry and cherry wheat varieties (but they were both a bit cloudy). The Belgian pale ale didn’t taste like a pale ale in any way, shape or form. Either way, I’ll go back again. The business is new and the owners are dedicated. Good service, and beautiful also here. Good prices, as well.

We came to Abbey Ridge because it’s close to home and we wanted to try anew restaurant The food here is based on pub food and it really doesn’t elevate beyond that. Nothing is terrible and not much exceptional. The chips in both the chip and dip and chips and salsa would have been better warm. The tenderloin and chicken were over cooked and a little dry. The fried catfish was very good and the Bavarian pretzel was huge and good. The beer was better than the prior review stated but not outstanding. Overall a pub with ok food in a pretty place (the view not the building) and fair beer. The pretzel may be worth a return.

This microbrewery /​restaurant opened in Fall 2014 and is off to a tough start. The location is excellent and they have invested in a very comfortable and attractive space, inside and out on the large, comfortable patio.
However, the beer — which is the reason for making the drive — is not yet ready for prime time… They brew principally in the Abbey /​Belgian style, though also offer a pilsner and some others. Nothing I sampled was very good and several of the offerings were downright difficult to get to the bottom of the 3 oz sampler. Thankfully, they offer local wines and some other craft-​brews. They have a modest-​sized pub-​food menu. We did not sample the food, but did have a cheese and meat board that was OK (cheese better than the meat some of the dried meats were very fatty). Service was friendly and attentive. If they can make some progress in beer quality, could be a good option on the wine /​beer trail !
