History
Established in 1886.
On Jan. 1, 1886, Altoona Hospital opened as a 30-bed, two-story wooden structure at a cost of $ 16,645.26. The hospital admitted 113 patients its first year.
Altoona Regional Health System was formed on November 1, 2004, as a result of Altoona and Bön Secours-Holy Family hospitals, along with many health system-affiliated companies, joining together.
