Oldhaus Fibers, family fun with bunnies and wool!

We have a variety of Hand Spun and Hand Dyed fiber items. Many come from our Giant Angora and French Angora, Rabbits. We are an ARBA registered rabbitry.

We blend our Angora with fibers from our friends Sheep, Llama, Alpaca, and Bison. We also have used Camel, Opossum, and other exotic fibers.

We use conventional spinning wheels, antique great/​walking wheels, drop spindles to spin our fibers. We also do our own dying of fibers & yarn, along with a variety of felting techniques on our projects.

History

Established in 1996.

We have a studio based operation, with fibers from our barn and other farms and friends in the Midwest.

We specialize in our own Angora wool. We have Giant, French and Satin Angora Rabbits. We have Bison wool from Iowa, Alpaca, Llama, Mohair, from Wisconsin and Missouri and Iowa.

We work together as a family in our studio.

We use Angora Wool and a variety of wool blends from our own Angora Rabbit herd. Lovingly cared for in Amana, Iowa, USA by our family.

My 40 years experience in animal husbandry has been a top priority with my working with 20+ Giant Angora Rabbits.

I am their keeper, vet, midwife, daily care giver, grooming artist, fiber harvest manager, fiber mixer, fiber carder, fiber spinner, knitter.

I have been raising wooly/​angora rabbits for the past ~15 years. Giant Angoras for the past 12 years or so. I have a fiber studio where my bunnies work is available for your viewing!
