Amarillo Developmental Gymnastic Center is owned and operated by

George and Lynn Sherman.

George was a gymnast at the University of North Texas where he received his degree in physical education. He had been coaching competitive gymnastics for several years when he began to notice there was a need to take comparison out of the gym and replace it with individual incremental successes. In doing so, ANY child could gain the same self-​esteem exhibited by his trained athletes.

He opened the Amarillo Developmental Gymnastic Center in the summer of 1983. In 1984 his wife, Lynn, joined forces with him at the center. Her degree in visual communications and background in psychology from the University of Wisconsin brought a creative twist to many of the non-​competitive activities. Together they have presented a unique blend of physical education, perceptual activities, and gymnastics to the children of West Texas for over 28 years.
