I am here to give the Lubbock location a little bit of love since I can’t seem to find a unique page for the I-27 location. For my Lubbock friends, getting out to Benjamin’s is well worth the excursion. I recently had the best jalapeño cheese kolache I have ever tasted. I have spent a few years in Central Texas where the Czech population drives a profusion of kolache shops, so I think I am qualified to make this bold claim. Back then, kolaches were not to be found in West Texas, so I am thrilled that they can be found and that Benjamin Donuts pulls one off so well. What makes their kolaches so good? Simple — the flaky sweet bread, a spicy sausage infused with cheese, and an ample portion for little cost. What is also rare is the ability to get a spudnut from Benjamin’s. I was delighted to try something that I have not had access to since I was a little kid working at a construction site up in Muleshoe, which back then had its own Spudnut shop. On this occasion, I went with a strawberry iced spudnut. For a comparison to the typical donut, the spudnut, as its name indicates, is made from potato flour, which gives it a but more of a bread density as well as a certain sweetness. I enjoyed it immensely as well. Fortunately for me, this spot is on my morning commute, but I would highly recommend this as a cool spot to have a morning date with the kids as well.

Definitely the best donuts anywhere around Amarillo and Canyon. Blows every other one around Amarillo out of the water! I suggest the blueberry buttermilk and blueberry cake donuts.

Jalapeño pig in a blanket is the best thing on the menu. Skip the burrito. Super salty and below average. My daughter had the donut holes. They seemed ok, but nothing special. I was surprised so many raved about them. I will only return for the pig in a blanket.

The kolaches are great. Donuts are even better. I know they reheat what they made that morning(burritos, kolaches, and sandwiches), but it all tastes great anyway. The setup of the place is simple, and the people behind the counter are very nice and friendly. Try the kolaches, seriously.

Went at almost 11am on Saturday, so it was not crazy busy(which was ideal). They«puff» any donut for you, and everything was amazing(especially the pig in a blanket!!!). This is our new Saturday late morning routine.

What a bright happy spot in what feels like a sea of sameness(visiting from California). The donuts were SOTASTY as were the cross isn’t sandwich and the pig in a blanket with jalapeños. The people running the place were super sweet and aimed to please. My only hesitation on the 5th star was for the powdered creamer. But that could be used because Amarillians prefer it– I’m not sure. I just can’t stand the stuff. The donuts and breakfast foods were just SO good they deserved a cup of Coffee with real cream. Thanks people of Benjamins for a great experience.

Tried this place for the first time today and loved it! I got a jalapeño pig-in-a-blanket and a regular glazed doughnut. They were both warm and fresh. I recommend going to this place if you crave doughnuts but need a little bit more than just bread to fill up your tummy in the morning. They offer various breakfast options and a lot of other doughnut flavors/toppings. They do have a drive-thru. Make sure you ask for napkins if you go through the drive-thru. I didn’t get any.

Thanks for my «frozen on the inside still» chorizo burrito. Best part about my experience? Driving over to sonic to get breakfast after. Won’t be back.

I moved to Amarillo roughly a year ago and all I ever heard about for breakfast was«the donut stop!» I tried it out and the donuts are definitely good but that’s it. No kolaches, burritos, breakfast sandwiches or anything else! What a disappointment. I found Bens recently and it’s the absolute go-to place for my friends and I for breakfast. They have a drive thru, the interior has a nice feel to it, and they have a wonderful selection. They even have cream filled donuts and interesting ones like fruity pebbles donuts. Definitively of equal or higher quality to donut stop. The sausage kolaches come in two sizes and they’re about as good as they get. They have multiple types of breakfast burritos(including chorizo which I love!) with potatoes, egg, and cheese included. They also have Korean beef burritos which was interesting. The salsa it comes with is more of a fresh jalapeño pico that’s unique and tasty. They also have a variety of breakfast sandwiches on croissants and biscuits etc. it’s all good! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for breakfast!!! You won’t regret it.

A great donut place. The best in Amarillo which isn’t saying much. If you come from a big city and you are used to donuts melting in your mouth don’t get donuts. You will want to get the kolache because they are great here. If you are from Amarillo try anything because they are far better than donut stop. Looking for a specific one — get the blueberry buttermilk.

Pros 1: BEST Salsa in West Texas. My taste buds did the happy dance on my heart when they got that salsa dashed into my very good chorizo Burrito. 2: the donut selection is outta this world! Maple bacon to Stuff to Order puff pastry. 3. Coffee was excellent– nice selections at the coffee bar. 4. clean restroom Cons: they dont sell that great Salsa by the quart! Well, not yet anyway.

The donuts are not good. You can get better from a grocery store bakery. However, the cold, foil wrapped breakfast burrito that they warm up for you was pretty authentic TexMex. There are many breakfast options in Amarillo and this one shouldn’t be your first choice.

I get the sense this is a one woman shop. I had a buttermilk blueberry donut and a blueberry cake. They also have coffee and convenience store style(instant) cappuccino. The locals are lucky to have such a nice little store. I hope they enjoy it and explore the menu to find the gems.
