I didn’t eat here, only got Dessert to go. The Chocolate Mousse… gawd dayummm delicious. I licked the bowl, fam! No lie.
I’ll prolly be back to try more of the menu. I’ll need to bring a shawty though… a little too fancy to be eating here alone or wit the crew. You know what, fuk it, that chocolate mousse so good I’ll eat here with anybody. 5 stars on the dessert alone.

We ate in there last night for our anniversary, so sad we wasted our special time there. My husband had pasta and Shrimp they forgot to give him any pasta, I had the hamburger steak and it was so tiny, I ask for steak sauce and got their house made and all I could taste is mustard, you would at least think when you pay 100.00 for a meal you would at least get fresh cut fries. For sure a waste of time and money!

One word. «Overrated». Had great time because my company was my wife, who happens to be my best friend. We were seated next to two other tables, one of which was loud, while there were other tables open. The waiter said they were taken… I made my reservation 3 days prior. Anyway, we got another table, waiter was kind of a prick about it. He warmed up through out the evening and was decent. Food was above average. But NOWHERE near other Bistros. I had the Duck, Scallops, and Crème Brûlée; all good. Personally, I believe at this point they are overpriced and living of their name.

I’ve been a few times with friends and it’s always a crowd pleaser for when you’re looking for something a little more special in Amarillo. The portobello sandwich wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but the fries were perfect!

We decided to drive out to Amarillo while staying in Canyon and visiting Palo Duro to check out BL Bistro after reading all of the good reviews. Unfortunately, we were highly disappointed with the food.
Upon arrival we had an appetizer– spinach dip, which was OK.
For my main course I ordered the special– sweet and sour pork (or beef, can’t remember now) — $ 18.
The dish came– it included pieces of meat on the bone, with rice, and zucchini. I bit into my first piece of meat to find that it has absolutely no flavor (neither sweet or sour), and that the inside was pretty much frozen and not really cooked through. I alerted our waiter who took the dish back to be fixed. I’m not sure what they did to it, possibly just threw it in the microwave, but when the dish came back the meat was still flavorless, hot, but also extremely dry. It was probably one of the worst dishes I have ever eaten, and couldn’t get myself to finish it.
I will say that the service here was excellent. Our waiter apologized multiple times, took the dish off of our bill, offered to get me a different entrée instead, and offered dessert on the house. However, the food here needs quite a bit of work. Other than the great service, I’m not sure why this place has so many raving reviews…

After a long road trip my buddy and I decided to stop in Amarillo before heading home. I’d used Unilocal to bookmark this place before, so it was on my radar already. When it popped up as «nearby» we went.
The food and drinks were great. My buddy had the double pork chop with Brussel sprouts. I had the Strip steak with green beans and potatoes. Both meals were great. Our server Derek was excellent too. My French 95 (a gin drink) was really good. If there was a sour note it was the Smokey Manhattan that my buddy got. The smoke flavor made the drink taste bitter and it numbed his tongue a little.
Bottom line. Eat everything drink everything… Except the Smokey Manhattan. :)

BL Bistro has been on the top of my list for a long time. The food is wonderful. The atmospere is relaxing and the wait staff deserves high praise! I do not think this happens enough. The staff has gone above and beyond for me on serveral occassions. My daughter loves a Ceasar salad and a while back it was not on the menu. The waiter asked for a moment to check with the kitchen. They did indeed have the ingredients and made a Ceasar for Kathleen. She was so happy.
Today I broke my foot. Before going to the Urgent Care I needed lunch. Dani was kind enough to get a bag of ice for me! Again, above and beyond.

Nice place and seems to be popular with the locals. We were there on a Wednesday night and needed a reservation early. A little later on it appeared to clear out. Wait staff was good, friendly and well trained. Two of us cleaned our plates, it was good and fresh. Sides were pared well with the dish. Pricing was good as two of us had a couple drinks an app and dinner for $ 60.

We went there a while back. It was a decent experience. The food was a little fancier than the regular Amarillo restaurant. It was pretty flavourful and well cooked. The atmosphere seems a little off. It feels like the place is run down a little bit. But I will for sure come back for the delicious food.

These guys know what they’re doing. Great pairing of meat and vegetables. Great wine selections. If you are not a local that already loves this place (traveling thru) make sure you give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

This place is pretty amazing. We got 2 Caesar wraps with fries go go. They make the amazing crispy fries that you cannot get enough of. The wrap tasted fresh and had the perfect amount of dressing. All in all this place is recommended if you are in Amarillo area. Only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because it took awhile for our to go order to be ready.

Plain awful. I don’t mind good ideas, well executed and way left of center. In this instance it was none of that. It was a mash up of ideas that would appeal to those that have never made friends with their palate. Don’t call your food Mediterranean, when you’re clueless as to what the term means. It might have been okay if they updated their menu on their website, because we would have avoided it all together. Cheese on calamari, cream sauce on ground lamb and sausage pasta. Are you freaking kidding me. Regardless, different strokes… not my restaurant. But then make the freaky crap well. Don’t fall down on preparation. Greasy, Luke warm, over cooked. Service was fine and the really inedible items they offered to remake, but that wasn’t going to help anything. Should have had a drink and left. Never again. Nice space though. Sorry the food didn’t match. Two words… menu overhaul.

Got a recommendation for here as Marty’s is no longer and the place did not disappoint us at all. Service was excellent and the by-​the-​glass wine list was impressive however short. I selected a $ 12+ Cab for my wife and she loved it.
I had the Lobster and Crab ‘gratin’ which they do not call it that, but that is what it is and it was wonderful. She had the lettuce wraps and they used Romaine lettuce instead of butter lettuce which is odd, but it was OK.
Nice service by a flirtatious strawberry Blonde.
If I lived in AMA I would go here once a month or so.

Took the wife out for date night. Other people have said how great the food was. The night we went my wife had the duck. Very rubbery and tuff. She couldn’t even eat it. The waiter was nice enough and apologized and ask if we wanted another plate. We declined. I ate about half my lobster dish. It seemed more like a casserole I wasn’t impressed. Really nice décor though. Probably won’t go back.

We were not expecting the high quality of service or food when we went to BL Bistro. We had a group of six and table was immediately available.
The service was fast and new all the nightly specialties. She directed us to the right wine and fantastic appetizers. She gave us enough time to choose our main course. Very laid back. I couldn’t think of a better experience in such a relaxing place.
The food from start to finish was premium. I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends. No complaints at all.

BURGER PLEASE !
I’ve been reading a bunch of the reviews for this restaurant and it kind of seems like a hit or miss.
But my personal experience was SUPERB. I ordered the $ 11 Pattymelt Burger and yes it was worth every penny. My burger was not cooked to the medium I had ordered, but it was still amazingly delicious — packed with flavor, nice char, and the fries were seasoned amazingly. Everyone at my table who ordered a burger was more than satisfied and we are all ready to go back for another one.
I did sample some lamb pasta and veggie tacos and they were just okay so I can see why some other Unilocalers gave their review.
Service was extremely friendly, but slow.

Well this place came highly recommended from a few locals as being one of the better places to get a steak around here. So I went with a few co-​workers on a Friday night, we made reservations and were still left waiting to be seated for about a half an hour. Sat at the bar and had a few cocktails beforehand, the bartender was not very friendly and did not provide any drink recommendations when we asked him to that was worthwhile. The waitress that finished serving us in the bar area was also not very friendly. Completely unimpressed with the bar area after that.
Moving onto the actual dining experience, we had an awesome waitress who was very friendly and attentive. We got the quail and fries to start, they were both pretty good. I got the rib eye and my bf got the pork chop so we shared… I was very underwhelmed with the rib eye, I could have gotten a better seasoned steak at Texas Roadhouse for 1⁄3 of the price. The pork chop was giant, but the leftovers went to a stray cat the next day. The cocktails were good, we had quite a few but very pricey for Amarillo.
So for the price of it all compared to what we got on top of the pretentious attitude that we received from the hostess and barstaff, I will have to give this one a 3 star review and will probably never return.

We had a reservation at 7 on a Wed. and were truly surprised when we actually needed it. It was definitely busy but the staff was very friendly and attentive.
We had the calamari and parmesan fries to start and both were good but the calamari was really different then the fried stuff you usually see (in a good way). I had the pork chop and it was a huge portion and very tender. My friend had the lobster which was damn near impossible to get out of the shell without getting your hands dirty (literally) and kind of took away from the fancy ambiance this place seemed to strive for.
Overall it was a very nice dinner, I can see that it would be a good choice for a special occasion but it could tone down the snooty attitude and it would be that much more impressive.
