Not great but in a pinch the food was okay. Service was good and our waiter tried to accommodate my child’s special diet. I ordered a combo plate with steak and an enchilada and it wasn’t bad but it was so spicy that my mouth burned for an hour. Yikes! I would say skip it if you could.

Service was great, patio was chill, drinks were on point… I had the Mahi and it was Trash! Dry and gross. Ultimately you go to a restaurant for food.

Bad food, poor service, and extremely dirty restrooms. Don’t waste your time stopping here.

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon. Only a handful of people were in the restaurant. The waitress spilled a tray of drinks on one of the members of our party. Then she repeatedly disappeared, leaving us with no drinks. Very poor service. The food was okay. I thought part of the meal would be comped, but no offer was made. No apologies or anything when the bill was presented. Customer service needs improvement!

Three stars seems like a high review for this place. I have never really cared for it but it is conveniently close. I thought I would try it again today but yet again was horribly disappointed. I arrived on a Sunday when the place was only half-full me and my family, the four of us, sat down and quickly ordered. An hour later we still have not received our food the people around us have received their food and we have hardly been waited on at all. After inquiring about the status of our food we were told the manager would come out and speak to us and bring our food, we saw the manager come out and deliver someone’s food to the table right next to us but failed to stop and speak with us. Finally the other table right next to us who had arrived at least 30 minutes later received their food. Frustrated and angry I left $ 20 on the table for the chips and queso and drinks and walk out! That will be the last Time I ever visit this on the border or probably any on the border. I would highly recommend you find someplace else to eat.

The tacos are so dry, like they were made in a desert with no moisture in the air at all. The waitress is nice, forgot a few things and it is not busy. The booth seat was dirty and covered in salt. The waitress’ personality is the only reason I am giving two stars.

I am BLOWNAWAY!!! We always talk about how good customer service is scarce this day and time and On The Border proved me wrong today!!! I couldn’t be more happy to write this review. We were greeted by a very friendly young woman and seated instantly. There were smiles on every face from the moment we entered the restaurant. Even though our server was training, they didn’t miss a beat! Our drinks, chips and salsa were constantly full. It wasn’t even 15 minutes when were greeting by a well-dressed, friendly manager. I know Amarillo has tons of choices, but locals are really missing out on service if they aren’t coming here! We’ll be back for sure.

It would be 5 stars because the food was delicious! Unfortunately we ordered to go and we were told it would be 10 minutes– it was more like 40(in their defense it’s super bowl Sunday). They forgot to give us part of our order but we still paid for it. We’d probably give it another try if we were in Amarillo more often.

Among all the confusion about when the happy hour starts, which beers are considered domestic and taking 3 times to get an order of enchiladas right, the restaurant employees seemed all too frazzled on a slow Monday afternoon. They redeemed themselves by bringing us dessert and taking care of the meal.

Good customer service. Bartender was great, she make a drink for me that wasn’t on the menu, but was yummy! The food was blah… just the same as all the other chain restaurants. We try and look for mom and pop shops but we were told all the new chains put them out of business; which makes me so sad. What’s happening to the US. Have we given up?

Ordered the chicken salad and it had ZERO flavor. $ 10 and it looked like a half of a salad. I also ordered a margarita and it came out in a water glass so not very big but it was $ 11! There was no price in the menu. It was good but not that good. Also our table was dirty and service was very slow and he didn’t take away any dirty plates til after he brought us more food. No plans of returning.

Pretty mediocre, although basically decent. Composition of dishes was creative and appealing but flavors fell flat and somewhat unbalanced. Both our dishes sounded, looked and smelled appealing but flavors did not come through strong enough and my husband’s BBQ tacos were overwhelmed too much by the BBQ sauce. Ambiance was pretty standard, comfy chair restaurant fare with friendly, attentive service.

Maybe off day for staff when my wife and i ate there… But that day made the difference of me coming back… Will not be back ever… How you treat others is extremely important… So no thanks… No more…

We stayed at a hotel at this intersection for several days and thus ate at about every restaurant in that area. This is a good On The Border(love the chips and salsa) and the service and food was very good. We love the fajitas. Close to Interstate and easy to get to. Plenty of free parking. The décor inside is about like any On The Border.

We were driving through town and decided to get quick(ish) mexican food before going onto Palo Duro. There were seven of us and we only had to wait a minute or two before the table was ready. For a Thursday night this place was somewhat empty, so I was disappointed that our waitress wasn’t more attentive. The food was good but not served up as quickly as i thought it could have been. The biggest draw back was when the waitress started telling us stories about what happened when she took different shots and parties. Besides the fact that she looked 13, it was not the dinner conversation I was hoping to have with a complete stranger.

Let me preface this by saying, we went to this restaurant at approximately 4pm on a Wednesday afternoon. It was clean. The service was attentive. The food(for chain Tex-Mex) was great. The prices were affordable. One drawback, no sweet tea. I had to make sure I was in Texas. I thought every place had sweet tea. I made do with Coke :)

Horrible service… as in almost none at all. updated: there was a group of 9(2 kids 7 adults) it took 20 mins to get our drinks, and when they finally came out, they were wrong. Then when the waitor took our order, he even repeted it back wrong. We knew we were in trouble. It took 30 minutes for the food to come out, and during this time we never saw the waiter. so never got drink refilled. 2 dinners came out wrong and mine didn’t come out until 10 minutes later.

We only came here for drinks @ the bar before going to the movies. Good ambience and fast service. Clean restaurant. Would definitely want to come to visit the full menu.
