Dent Neurologic Institute

I have been attending their headache clinic for over a month now, and have also had additional testing done at this location. Every experience I have had has been posotive. Staff is friendly and welcoming I have never waited for more than a few minutes past my scheduled appointment time. The medical team I am working with is solution focused and they seem to care about my well-​being. They also provide services other than what I need. I would definetly recommend them.

I had been paying them $ 25 a month on my owing balance. This was agreed upon at the get go because BCBS was terrible and I had a very high co-​pay. Then I talked to their billing department about a week ago and I was told that they turned my account over to a collection company. I said, why would you do that? I’ve been paying steadily on my bill!?! She said, this is the co-​pay for visits of $ 75.00 that you haven’t paid, totaling $ 300. My other bill with them that I’d been paying on was down to $ 533. I verified with her, total bill would be $ 833. So why didn’t you simply add that $ 300 into my total bill, and ask me about paying a bit more a month? Nope, sent it to collections. Fast forward to the bill I get today from this collection company. It’s for $ 693.46. My $ 533 plus a collection set up fee of $ 160.00. No mention at all of the $ 300. I called Dent back and asked them about that $ 300 and they acted like we’d never discussed it before and gave me some kind of lame explanation that I had 6 months to pay for each separate visit and I still owed for my first visit back on 6÷4÷14. The fact that today was the first time I’d ever heard that didn’t seem to faze them.
This whole mess started because when I went for my last appointment in August, I didn’t have the $ 75.00 co-​pay and they refused to see me. In front of a very crowded waiting room, in a very loud voice, the receptionist said what my total bill was, why they would not see me that day and totally violated HIPPA! I said, well, you I am finding a new neurologist. Dr. Myers was so bad that he had me going through steroid IV treatment even though I am a diabetic and he knew that there was a chance that my glucose levels would go sky high. And they did, landing me in the ER! I have CIDP, a very severe form of Neuropathy and I needed help, not instant ER treatments. Do not go to Dent. Money hungry, ignorant people.

I’ve have suffered with Fibromyalgia for 17 years. I have severe nausea, heat sensitivity, fatigue and pain.
I saw Dr. Li at Dent. She wasn’t thorough. She was rude. And she kept asking me «And why exactly are you here?». I’m here because I’m sick.
I brought my medical records and my bloodwork for the past year, and she didn’t care to look at them. She took a quick look over me and told me that there was nothing wrong with me. Nothing wrong with me? Are you kidding?
They gave me the number of a pain management specialist and sent me on my way. For this, they charged me $ 118.

One Giant Money grab Factory! I was referred by my primary to specialist, for a nerve, tendon issue in my left arm. They called prior to the appoint. to make sure I was going to have my $ 200. co pay, as soon as I walked in they asked for the co pay before any paperwork.(which I know I have to pay) it was just the way they dealt with it.
I saw a Asian Doctor who spoke VERY poor english. A 3 minute physical exam was preformed, and not as thoro than my primary did, after which she said (test Good) lol
I asked her what she thought was wrong, she said (I don’t know, I give u test) go in other room. SO I did, and it was the check out! I thought I was going to do the test then and there, It was a simple EMG test for the nerves. Turns out they do, do it there but was a month wait! I am in pain, and not waiting another month, so I called my Primary and was able to get one in 5 days elsewhere. The place is a joke and nothing more than a factory. If you need a neurologist, do your self a favor and go to an independent. Its a big box chain restaurant of doctors.

This place is a money factory & monopoly, besides a complete joke. Not only did they try prescribe my wife medication that could have risked my daughter’s life (the OBGYN frantically responded with a «NO, dont take that!» but they also run you through almost any and every test. Don’t be surprised if they think you have Sleep Apnea or other things that require numerous tests or visits and then find that you don’t or they aren’t sure what’s going on. Never any parking spots and insane waiting times. They tell you to get there early but that’s no help. «It should be about 45 more minutes, we’re sorry,» then another 1.5 hours and still waiting. Do yourself a favor and find another place. You’re just $$ signs here. Tell them you’ll pay your co-​pay after your seen and see what they say. My wife gets stuck there all the time for 3 – 4 hours (before even being seen).

I am extremely pleased with the staff at DENT. Needed to see a neurologist in the area so I did a google search and found several reputable names affiliated with this location. I called and hoped to be seen within the week although I knew I was running the risk of being told they were full for the next several months. The woman I spoke with responded well to the sense of urgency in my voice and got me in the very next day. The waiting room was very large with tons of seating room and televisions. My appointment was delayed a half hour but I didn’t mind because the new patient paperwork was VERY lengthy, thorough and took up most of that half hour. The medical assistant who took my vitals was very friendly and the office was clean and spacious. The neurologist I saw wasn’t very warm but asked the right questions and did not make me feel rushed. He ordered an MRI which I had to schedule for a later date.
The woman doing the scheduling was also very kind and patient. She gave me all the information I needed in addition to contact information if I had any questions. She was able to schedule me the very next day and I was thrilled to get it out of the way. They are open 7 days a week until 11 at night! I couldn’t believe how late they stayed open. When I went for my MRI, the ladies at the front desk were great and responsive to my needs. My MRI tech was just fantastic. He made me feel so comfortable and was so accommodating. My overall experience here couldn’t have been better.
