My Burger Bar

Unhappy to see that it is closed. I didn’t go to my tomato pie who is trying to accommodate My Burger Bar guests. I must try it soon.

Well the burgers are good, even the chicken burger, but the salad bar is nearly useless. It lacks what every good salad bar needs, fresh and crisp lettuce. I don’t like soggy spring mix and every time we eat here, the lettuce is nearly empty.
What is with the drinks? Bottles of pop? Really? Get a soda fountain already! The décor is stark, cold and uninviting. Seat yourself at one of the dirty tables, I realize it was a Friday, but come on. I watched the guy take 5 minutes to wipe a table and put new place settings out! I wanted to push him out of the way and do it myself!
You can, and should, do better My Burger Bar. Once gourmet burger chains start to infiltrate the area, My Burger Bar will be left in the dust.
I did mention good burgers though, right?
Not surprisingly, they went belly up.

Good burger place with a salad bar with your order :) get their sweet potato fries! This place is your typical burger joint. The only difference is that the toppings they offer give your burger a little boost. Otherwise a nothing fancy about this place.

Very good burgers! Juicy and cooked correctly :-) The menu includes some cool spiked shakes like the creamcicle. They have a variety of burgers to choose from and a decent salad bar trip included with the meal. They even have fish fry on Fridays. The staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a nice comfy atmosphere as well. Nice place. I recommend it to any burger enthusiast especially with these interesting spiked shakes and floats :-)

Burgers are quite good. I don’t really care for the fries being a la carte, seems like they should just be thrown in with the burgers. Bottled pop. Just all a little weird.
I really expected more with this being from the people who own My Tomato Pie which is really good.

Service great. Burger just blah. Lots of food great price. Meat needs something or a seasoning.

Food is great. Obviously they focus on burgers but they have plenty of options and you can customize your own. The burgers are large and the meat is always cooked well. Second favorite thing is the spiked milkshakes. Add a side and you will walk out stuffed!
Downside, the space is a little confused. It has been fairly full when I have gone but never packed, I imagine it would be a tight space if the place was really crowded. Especially trying to get to the miniature salad bar in the back. I enjoy salad when I don’t have to cut up all the ingredients but it seems like something they just threw in, not fabulous. Décor seems to be an afterthought and some changes could certainly give it a better atmosphere.

Eh… a burger place that doesn’t flame grill? That’s just a sin in my book. I like the idea of «build your own burger». I like the salad bar… but that’s about all I liked about this place.

My Burger Bar is really just. okay. They could definitely use better chairs and seating arrangements. Some booths would be great. The salad bar was really lacking and as Jody mentioned, is oddly hidden behind a wall.
Our service was pretty good. It’s a seat yourself kind of place so we ended up waiting a little while before anyone finally started serving us. But once we got our waitress she was friendly and relatively helpful.
I got the chicken burger, which is ground chicken, spinach, and feta. They give you a choice of 6 – 7 toppings that are free and then maybe 5 – 6 that cost extra. The hot peppers were great! The food overall was definitely a little too greasy for me and the other toppings were nothing special. They do have pretty decent sweet potato fries.
Another odd thing about this place is that everything comes in packets. The sweet potato fries came with honey that was in packets. You would think for a sit down restaurant that they would at least give you a little container (and wouldn’t it be cheaper for them to buy bottles of honey in bulk?). I understand it’s a casual burger bar but that was just a little strange. My boyfriends mom also ordered a pop and it was brought out in the bottle with a glass so she had to pour it herself… something you don’t really see in a restaurant type place. Also, the ketchup bottle on our table was covered in some kind of sticky. something.
They have spiked milkshakes, which I didn’t try, but I did get a Saranac, which I was surprised they had. Pretty good bar selection for a little place!
I don’t really see myself coming back here anytime soon, but maybe someday.

If it weren’t for an excessive wait time at Dunn Tire I would have never gone into this establishment, and I believe that next time I’ll be going to Taste of India, Falafel Bar, or My Tomato Pie. I found the experience to be kind of frustrating. It was around 1:30 in the afternoon and I stood in the parking lot trying to decide which restaurant to dine in for lunch. As any good foodie would do I whipped out my phone and went to my Unilocal app. All of the restaurants were similarly ranked so I decided to continue to holiday binge by getting a burger.
Arriving at the restaurant my first impression was, sweet a burger place with a full bar and a fire place. Very cool. Unfortunately the service that follow did not continue to impress me. For some reason my waitress wanted to rush me through my meal and get me out the door, even though there were only two other tables occupied.
After ordering I went to the salad bar, one complementary trip with the purchase of a burger, made a nice salad and returned to my table. They do have an excellent salad bar I must say, very fresh and a lot of variety. Anyway, not five minutes after I sat down the burger came out. Not really a big deal, figured I could let the burger rest while I finished my salad. So, finished the salad and started on the burger.
I ordered the Smokehouse burger. A fantastic creation made up of pepper jack cheese, onion rings, bacon and BBQ sauce. I will admit the burger was pretty tasty, juicy and messy as hell. I ate the last quarter of it with a fork and knife. While scarfin on my burger the waitress came over to check in, told her everything was great and she left, not taking my salad dish which was clearly finished. She then returned a few minutes later with the check. I still had half my burger left. Come on girl, who trained you. Now I can understand this behavior when you are getting crushed with a lunch or dinner rush, but not when there isn’t anyone in the place. It made me feel very unwelcome.
Lastly, the burger should be served with a side of fries instead of a trip to the salad bar in my opinion. Fortunately I was in the mood for a salad but, you are breaking the obvious standard by making this substitution. Take a look at my picture. Doesn’t that burger look lonely? Although I like pickles, fries are a burger’s best buds. I guess my expectations were that this place was going to be like Crave Real Burgers, in Colorado Springs. Now that’s a burger joint. Oh well.

The meat is very tasty, although the burgers in their entirety aren’t overwhelmingly impressive. By suggestion had purchased the texas cheese melt, in my opinion it was small, and the cheese to burger ratio was outweighed by the cheese.
Not a terribly delicious meal when hot. Though saving half of the sandwich as I did not wish to induce a food coma, it was very delicious the day after from the fridge. mmm i do enjoy leftovers.
Wellington pub’s massive burger is by far better than my burger bar’s cheese melt, it’s the same thing but the ratio of cheese to meat is on par to not feel as those your mouth is only basking in cheese without their delicious meat blend. Additionally the texas toast was rather tiny.
the milkshakes, there’s booze, that’s good, they taste good, although their consistency is more along the lines of a milk based drink than a truly thick milkshake. I was hoping for something like a frosty with alcohol much like the ending scene of kids in the hall’s girl drink drunk.

My Burger Bar is a place that I don’t think was worth the trip. I will start off by saying that my group was a little unsure of what to do when we got in, as it said «please be seated.» We thought «please be seated» meant to seat ourselves, but we watched more people come in and they were seated. In our defense, there wasn’t any host/​hostess at the front of the place. We waited a brief moment before figuring to seat ourselves, so maybe we moved too fast, or maybe whoever was supposed to seat us just didn’t see us, but either way, the sign was pretty ambiguous.
Anyways, back to the experience. We got a waitress after a small wait, which is fair enough for us taking our own seats. We ordered the spiked milkshakes, and everyone got a burger. Whenever I see that I cannot order my burger rare, I die a little inside. I don’t know if it’s due to lack of skill from the kitchen, or if it is to hide the quality of meat or what. I know chain restaurants don’t offer rare meat either, so I felt a little like I was at a less popular chain restaurant here.
Our meals came with a trip to the salad bar, which was decent. It had most of what I like on salads, and I tried 3 different salad dressings, though I don’t remember their names. Each dressing was good, as was the salad’s quality. No browning or wilting or anything gross to mention, so it was definitely the best part of the meal.
Shortly after we got our milkshakes. They were alright. I could taste the flavors they put in for the alcohol, but even as a lightweight, I knew it would be nearly impossible to get drunk off these things. That’s not necessarily a problem, as drinking shouldn’t always end with getting drunk, but when you are paying more for a milkshake than a mixed drink at some places, I would at least expect to taste a stronger drink.
The burgers came after the salads were done, which was nice timing, but here was where the meal train really got derailed. Looking at my burger wasn’t too bad, but touching my burger was an experience better left for a Halloween scare for kids. It was the slimiest burger I’d ever had. It was the jack-​radish, at some point in time, but by the time I was trying to eat it, it was just a nasty burger. It was so unappetizing, and I didn’t even want to eat the house-​made bun because the bottom part was SOAKED in grease! Ew! So I resorted to the knife and fork (a first for me for any burger place) and tried to eat was I could. However, I kept running into grease traps and it was so nasty that I just didn’t want to finish my burger. I asked a couple others after the meal if they had the same greasy trouble as I did, and it turned out I wasn’t the only one. Maybe it was payback for us seating ourselves, but this should have been saved for payback to someone that didn’t leave a tip last time they came. We also had a basket of fries, but they were so unremarkable they could have just gotten them from McDonalds, reheated them, and served them. There was nothing at all special about them, which is always a little disappointing.
In short, I don’t think I will ever come back. If I did, I would just buy a trip to the decent salad bar and laugh when my friends experience their burgers. I wouldn’t buy a milkshake either, I’d probably just have tap water and that salad. But this is supposed to be a burger bar! Save yourselves from these «burgers!»

Atmosphere: I would have to agree with everyone else’s reviews on the ambiance of this place, it is kinda confusing as to what they were going for, honestly it reminds me more of a modern Italian eatery or something; though this place is spotless so I have absolutely no complaints in that department.
Food: One thing I didn’t really notice in the other reviews is how amazing their veggie burger is! I have been craving one ever since I got it here last month and now that I have had it all others are just kinda hard and blah. This place will definitely fill you up though, I haven’t tried any of their side dishes other than the free salad bar that comes with your burger, I haven’t needed to since the burgers are so huge! And once I get this pregnancy weight off I’m definitely going to be trying one of their spiked milk shakes.
Service: I’ve only been here twice so far but each time the waitress was very nice and informative.
Dislike: Something I hope they change about this place is that they do not have fountain beverages! (I’m a sucker for free refills so when I order a soda and get a can/​bottle and glass I get a little turned off)
Tips: I noticed at the tables they had specials listed such at 10 cheese burgers 10 drinks 10 fries and 10 cookies for $ 100 or something along those lines so if you have a group of friends that is definitely the way to go, awesome deal!

Meh. I kind of had high expectations for this place. I have heard nothing but great things about this place, but with places like Grovers, Vizzis and Rock Bottom around its hard to compete.
Walking into this place was the first impression I got — which wasnt a good one. One huge room with barely anything on the walls. They had a fireplace which was awkwardly placed on the wall by the bathrooms. We waited for about 10 minutes before anyone came over to ask us what we would like to drink. The menus… oh the menus. I was confused. Am I supposed to find a pen somehow and check the boxes of the items I want? Or do I wait for the waitress to come over? For this place to be a burger bar I was really hoping for more specialty burgers.
The salad bar they offer with every meal was like a sad puppy who has lost his way home. Wilted lettuce and a weak choice of toppings kind of put me off. If you’re going to offer a salad bar make it exciting with some hearts of palm, artichoke hearts and some other not so common items — not just the typical tomatoes, cucumbers and onion.
The meal was forgettable. My burger was overcooked and the fries were just the normal frozen store bought kind. Even something as simple as using fresh cut fries can really add to the experience. Maybe some day I’ll go back, but this place isnt my first choice for a burger in Buffalo

Burgers were HUGE!!! Very tasty burger. I had the Rodeo Burger. Love onion rings on my burger! The Franks instead of BBQ was an interesting swap and I liked it.
We had the salad bar with it and though it was rather small, it was tasty and the lemon vinaigrette was awesome!!!
The place is rather small though, so I bet during peak meal times it gets kinda crowded.

With so many burger joints in the WNY area I felt this place must be great to be able to survive this long with so many other options in the immediate area (Cheeburger Cheeburger, Red Robin, etc.)…I was wrong.
Upon walking in My Fiancé, My daughter, and Myself we somewhat instantly uncomfortable. It is one of those places that is unclear if you seat yourself or wait for a hostess to seat you, although it didnt seem to matter a friday night and there was only one other couple in this cafeteria like setting. We were finally greeted by an employee and upon telling him table for three we followed him a few steps then was told to pick a table anywhere we would like.
The place is although a bit dull very clean and new. We were unsure about what or how to order our food as we were not provided menus, we didn’t know if we were supposed to order at the counter then come sit down etc. A kind employee came and directed us to the menus which were small and on the table. Here is my NUMBER 1 GRIPE ABOUT THE PLACE NO KIDS MENU!!! Why on earth would I want to even give the opportunity for my 7 year old daughter for have a 10 oz burger plopped in front of her??? at 8.99 that is a complete waist of food and my money. I cut the burger in half length, width and height and my daughter still had a hard time fitting it in her mouth.
My finace elected to get a normal burger with a few toppings on it. Although hers was obnoxiously big as well the problem wasn’t that. The problem with hers was the sight even turned me off to the place. Her burger was swimming in mayo, ketchup, and mustard. After she scrapped off which seemed like an ounce of unneeded condiments it was still swimming.
In my eyes you have to go big or go home so I got the insane burger I don’t even know what it was called. The burger consisted of two grilled cheese sandwiches with a cheeseburger in between. I would say it had too much cheese however I cant complain about that as I knew what I was ordering when I ordered it.
The service was just mediocre, the food was below par for my liking and the manager who came to check on us was completely unsure of himself which made things even more weird. Unfortunately at 8.99 per burger although it did include 1 trip to the salad bar I still don’t feel it was worth it. I would rather eat at a competitor or even mcdonalds before I would go back to this place. I would like to point out they are quite unique in that they have alcoholic milkshakes… which is different.

This is kind of a weird place. Is it an upscale restaurant? Is it a fast food burger joint? Is it a bar? Why is the (small) salad bar hidden behind a half wall? Why is there a fake fireplace with a giant TV mounted above it right in the middle? What does this place want to be? There’s clearly an identity crisis going on.
Four of us met for dinner here tonight. The service was pretty good… and by that I mean friendly although not too helpful and efficient. Specials weren’t discussed. Water glasses never refilled. Heck… even how to order wasn’t clarified. Are we supposed to tell the waitress what we want or check the boxes on the menu? It was never made quite clear… so being an efficient group of women we did both. In all fairness though, the separate checks we requested were given without a moment of hesitation.
The menu has burgers (of course) as well as chicken wings, french fries, sweet potato fries, Buffalo chicken egg rolls (what the heck could those be??), BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Burgers can be beef, chicken, or veggie. I started with a salad from the salad bar (and, only because it was free when checking in here on «Yelp» and showing my phone to the server). Normally it’s an extra $ 2.99 with a burger. Not really worth it. Everything was a bit dry and tasteless.
I opted for the «Classic Burger», well done. It was a very large beef patty with American cheese, (leaf) lettuce, tomato, red onion and «house sauce». That sauce tasted exactly like the tomato basil salad dressing at «My Tomato Pie» in the same plaza. The burger was huge! It was well done while still being juicy. Not an easy thing to do. But, it tasted like it was cooked on a griddle rather than a grill… I missed that grilled flavor. The roll was buttered and browned on the griddle as well… adding a nice crunch, but also a bit too much grease. All-​in-​all the whole thing was a bit too drippy and messy… but kind of tasty (in a repeating on me for a couple of hours afterward kind of way). Not the best burger I’ve ever had… but not a bad one either.
The menu also has «Spiked Milkshakes» which sound terrific with flavors like «Key Lime» and «Mudslide», and «Bananas Foster»… as well as «Spiked Floats». I’m thinking that if I come back I’ll consider this place a bar rather than a burger joint, and try one of those.

Whoa. This place is amazing. Every aspect of it.
First, let me tell you about the whole procedure of eating here. You grab an empty seat, and soon enough, a wait staff will approach you, who will explain the rest. If you want to know how it works before actually going there, then read on.
The wait staff will explain how the ordering procedure works. There are sheets of paper with the menu printed on it at the tables. The staff will give you pens, where you can check off what you want. There are pre-​made burger items, or you can make your own combination, and name it. You indicate what kind of patty you want, how you want it cooked, what toppings you want, and what bun you want. For a burger nerd, this is paradise.
I ordered the Rodeo Burger (being a MBB virgin, I figured I’d start by ordering a burger that they have already designed, and I’ll make my own burger when I visit a second time). I wanted it medium-​rare on an onion bun. And boy, they know how to make burgers. It’s just brown on the outside (not charred), and slightly pink on the inside, just the way I want it.
The wait staff asked us very politely how our meals were, THREE times! They were very attentive. The bathroom was very clean. The overall dining experience was excellent.
Other reviewers here commented on the «identity crisis» this place has. Even we fell for this; it was a little confusing upon entering. We didn’t know if this was a sit-​down full service place, or one where you have to go up to a counter and order what you want. But, once we got initiated to the procedure, I enjoyed the rest of the experience. Looking back, I don’t mind the «identity crisis». I think it adds to the quirk of things, making the whole experience more interesting. I’ll definitely be back.

This place is a cool concept but as Joseph L said, is a little confused about its identity. Are you upscale? Are you a diner? Are you fastfood? So confused.
Went for a Thursday lunch with a friend. I had a chicken burger (which is some sort of ground chicken with feta and spinach — NOT a chicken breast) and he had a hamburger.
I checked in on Unilocal for my free salad bar! I was happy it was free — pretty underwhelming. Very little choice, it was pretty much a «make your own chef salad» bar. 4 dressing choices, one of which was a tomato basil which had bright flavors but was clearly weighed down with lots & lots of mayo.
I wasn’t crazy about the chicken burger (and it left my digesting organs in a bit of a tizzy for the rest of the day), but apparently the burger-​burger was pretty good and was cooked to request (a rarity nowadays). He did say he preferred SOHO though. The fries were «just like McDonald’s» as my dining mate said.
They had a lot of interesting alcoholic milkshakes on the menu which I may pop in for one hot summer day.
Understanding this is called «My Burger Bar» I was a little bummed that they literally only serve burgers & a few kids menu items. I’ll recommend to anyone looking for a hamburger, but beyond that, don’t expect any other viable choices!
