History

Established in 2012.

Industrious Industries, Anacortes’s newest Graphic Design Studio, is doing just that, bringing a breath of fresh air to the island while keeping our time honored traditions of community and family alive.

Best friends and co-owners Adam Farnsworth and Alan Ayers have been freelance designing together since 2006. «We kept referring business to each other, until we finally decided to make the whole thing formal in 2011,» said Alan. The two became friends in college when, both musicians, Alan’s band played a gig opening for Adam’s band. «The band I was in was just awful, but Adam and I started talking after the show and we’ve been friends ever since.»

«We love helping companies define who they are. It’s fun working with people to help brand and develop themselves,» said Alan. Industrious works with businesses to create tools from the ground up including logos, letterhead, business cards, and websites.

Meet the Business Owner

Adam F. and Alan A.

Business Owner

Adam Farnsworth:

Adam has been a ball of energy from the day he was born. His mother attests that it is likely the result of one too many shots of adrenaline while she was pregnant and working as an ER receptionist. Growing up, he spent the majority of his time either building with his Legos, playing his guitar, or making home videos. As an adult, not much has changed: he still makes movies – and, he now plays alot of Minecraft, which is just Legos for «adults.»

Alan Ayers:

At an early age, Alan became intensely curious with the wide world around him. He found limitless joy in creating structures and art with whatever was on hand – from cardboard box forts to sculpture made from the leftover food on his dinner plate. Through these endeavors and others, Alan discovered the limitless possibilities that a creative mind had to offer. To this day, he collects knowledge like some collect stamps – filing skills and hobbies away in their protective plastic sleeves for future use.
