Update: I have received two private messages from customers of Apollo who have had similar experiences I posted my review. In both cases, the customer was Asian and experienced overt and clear bigotry via this company’s employees. It seems our experience was not unique in any way. Please beware and understand that bigotry is not the only issue at hand here. The way they treat people pervades in all areas of their business.

Fred Cook is our go-​to guy for moving. Wouldn’t consider even talking to anyone else. He has moved us over 5 times (home & office) & always gives us a very thorough & accurate estimate of expenses, time frame, & the like. Fred just moved us from Irvine, CA to St George, UT & it went smoothly on his part. Us, not so much. LOL We miscalculated how long it would take us to pack up all our junk. But Fred’s part went without a hitch. You can trust his estimate & work.

I wouldn’t trust these people with my family and home!!!
I just want to make sure that other people understand what they are dealing with and do not trust these people with their family and belongings. You don’t want to let these type of people inside your house and give them access to your keys, belongings and have them know your family.
We used Apollo Moving for a short move of our small 1 bedroom apartment within two blocks, and it turn out to be a nightmare! So I suggest if you don’t like to be robbed, or to have your credit card be information be stolen or be charged extra try something else, because these guys did all of that to me at once!
First of all, we asked them to start at 9 because we were getting the keys at 9 but they showed up at 8 and started the clock at 8, although they actually started at 8:30. Well, I it is not very nice but still is bearable.
Second, because of their miscommunication and advertising they did not bring enough boxes, so we had to do our move in two trips!!! Funny but we did move a one bedroom apartment in two trips, still I can be fine with that because that is not directly stealing!
Third, they stole a set of keys from us, we were sure they had the keys but they declined, we called them several times until they finally brought us the keys.
Fourth, move finished at 12, so it would be 4 hours (with all their tricks, having us to move in two trips, starting at 8, etc) and sure, it will be 4 hours x 80/​hour and it is $ 320. I have the paperwork signed by me and the mover (Armando) that is saying $ 320, but he did another cheating and when getting my signature for credit card charge he charged me 360 $ !!! So the stealing starts here, but it does not end!!!
Fifth, Three hours after they left us, I received notification from my credit card company for 4 fraud charges of total $ 1800. They were trying to use my credit card info to buy electronic gift card from Tillys and Bestbuy. I guess if they feel that they are not paid enough they just decide to go and use your card to treat themselves.
And the worst part is the company owners! I have called Fred to discuss this issues with and he had nothing but rude and unprofessional behavior and supporting these fraudulent actions.
So I have these all documented and I am following it from any source that I can, but I just wanted to make sure that other people understand what they are dealing with and do not trust these people with their family and belongings. You don’t want to let these type of people inside your house and give them access to your keys, belongings and have them know your family.

Absolutely worst moving company ever!
Scratched my VERY expensive table and my mattress and now it looks like it is covered in dirt. Yuck!
Annnnnnd they stole my husbands Go-​pro!!! It was in a bag with all his personal items and when he went to the car and came back the bag had been put in the moving truck. Okayyy? (We thought that was a bit sketchy) When we got to our new home, they rushed and right after they left my husband looked through his belongings and noticed it was gone! Seriously?!
To top it off, it was so hot! We felt bad so we fed these guys and kept them cool with water and Gatorade the whole time. Yet, they did us so dirty! Pure scum.
Spoke with Fred and basically he told us to kick rocks. Thanks!
Long story short, start looking elsewhere and never consider this moving company.

If it were possible to give a 0 star on Unilocal I would for a company like this!!! Stay away from this company. The manager Fred needs to learn how to talk with respect to clients, They will rip you off and threaten you with hidden charges they don’t tell you about!!!
Secondly, they don’t HAVE real storages! They have random trucks to shove people’s furniture in and they lie about how many spaces you need. We only needed a room for storage and he said we needed four pods??? What on earth!?!
It costed us over $ 1000 to get our furniture from one place to another, AND WE WERENT MOVING TO ANOTHER CITY FYI (ITS within the area!!!)
Threatening to sell or in other words STEAL people’s furniture for auction isn’t going to get you anywhere.
When we requested to have our furniture back to a real storage that we had to rent for safety issues (since he threatened us). The cops were kind enough to escort us to his place and talk in peace.
I’m saving this review in case they delete it and I’m not afraid to repost until justice is made for this crap.

We just did a local move in north OC of our home with Apollo and were very happy with their service. Honest estimate that they met with no surprises and a hard working and careful crew. I definitely recommend them.

I used Apollo movers again this past May 2015. I hired them again because 4 years ago I had a great experience. This time around it was AWFUL! It starts when you talk to Fred to book the reservation — this time around he was such a jerk! His attitude with me seemed that he could take my business or leave it, he really didn’t care. It got worse when they showed up on moving day with a truck that was already ¾ the way full for a job in Vegas. The lead mover spent all his time trying to make room for my stuff to fit. He would take down a mattress and be gone for 20 minutes, take down 2 end tables and be gone for 20 minutes… and so on, and so on. When I voiced concern he told me if I was that worried about time I should start running stuff down to the truck faster… I had been moving my own stuff all morning! I have a one bedroom apartment and not moving any appliances so it shouldn’t have taken more than a few hours — I was moving only 15 minutes up the freeway. It took nearly 5 hours to move a one bedroom apartment. And because my stuff was literally shoved and squeezed into an already full truck my bed and entertainment center were completely scratched and damaged. when I brought that to their attention he just said…“they were covered so we didn’t do that” BS! Also, I should note, I booked this reservation 4 weeks in advance and had a 7:00am reservation. Why would they show up with a truck that was already full! DO NOT USE APOLLO MOVERS — THEY ARE AWFUL!!!

I used two different company to move items from OC and from Pasadena to Glendale.
Apollo Moving was used to move my storage unit from Lake Forest to Glendale (60 miles).
Tim & Jeremiah did a fantastic job loading and Unloading. They were Careful, efficient and fast. The job went very smoothly with no delay or damage.
This will be the third time I’ve used Apollo moving and I must say that
they have consistently provided me with great service in all three occasions.

We used Apollo for a last minute move, and they were fantastic and very accommodating. They showed up when they said they would, and were pretty efficient. A little bit of a slow start on the packing (we used two packers one day — Carlos and Isaac — and moved the next day). Carlos, Isaac, and Chris moved us the next day. They were troopers (it was a long day!) and were helpful, friendly, respectful, hardworking, and accommodating.
It ended up being pretty pricey, but I think it is probably industry standard (or even cheaper), but there was some sticker shock.
Overall, however, well worth it and I would use them again. Fred Cook helped coordinate and schedule the move, and he was easy to work with as well.

They are absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! My bf and I wrote 2 reviews 2 nights ago and they have BOTH been taken off the Unilocal reviews because we wrote the truth on what happened during our move and they don’t want anyone to see it. Let me sum up what happened. It took 8 hours to move a ONE BEDROOM, 800 sq ft. apartment. EIGHT HOURS!!! And the movers decided to take a dump in our bathroom and NOT FLUSH. Anthony or Jeremiah didn’t expect us to go back to our prior apartment so soon I guess. I was MORTIFIED and PISSED OFF that we spent 8 hours moving, for them to crap in our toilet and not flush… with the toilet seat closed and bathroom door shut. Please keep in mind, there was no hand soap, so they are completely unsanitary as well. Such UNPROFESSIONAL movers… with no tools to take anything, like a freaking fridge apart… who do NOT deserve to be in business. I’m assuming it would take them a week to move a house if it took them that long for us. Fred, who is the President of this company, is just as pathetic. We wrote him an email describing our experience. Does he respond… NO. We write him back a week later after we wrote our reviews on Unilocal and what do you know… our reviews have been taken down. This just goes to show how terrible this business is. NEVER use these movers!!! We moved June 6^th, 2015… so we are the most recent review!!! AWFUL!!!

I thought this was the company a friend recommended to me, so I hired them despite my gut feeling about the owner, Fred, and his poor «people skills» when he came out for the estimate. I should have gone with my gut! They did arrive on time and the workers were very pleasant. However Fred was with them and seemed to be in a HUGE hurry to get this move done as quickly as possible, without regard to customer satisfaction or protection of our items. None of our valuable, frameless paintings were placed in boxes, as Fred promised they would be! (The fixed-​price quote was based on 10.5 hours and they only spent about 7 hours with us, so I really don’t know what all the rushing was about.) Also, while giving the quote, Fred said that if I had some unpacked items, his guys would help me the day of the move. Instead, due to their intense rushing, those items were left behind at my old home! When my husband and I tried to discuss this with Fred, he immediately got very defensive, starting shouting at us and claimed he never said those things to me. Absolutely horrible!

Apollo Moving and Fred Cook are the worst.
1. Showed up late with lame «traffic» EXCUSE
2. Packed so quickly and improperly they broke my marble table
3. Hid behind the «insurance only pays a certain amount clause»
4. Forged my signature on documents to limit their liability
If you EVER use them BUY THE INSURANCE. But, why would you use them base on the other comments posted on Unilocal

I used this company to move my house into their storage and then move to my new place. So many thing are destroyed or damaged. No clue where they stored my things but they were not protected. I also have a list of missing items as well. I was also charged for 3 guys 4 hours to load the truck at storage and it only took 2 guys 2 ½ hours to unload the truck and put hinges into my house. The math doesn’t add up.
I just had a moment to read the fine print which basically says if you do not open every box and check every item at delivery you have zero recourse. Needless to say I didn’t call didn’t want the attitude. Every item except for 2 boxes I packed myself only to have them mysteriously re packed and picked through. Some missing items are extremely valuable not only monetary value but my parents trust documents were in a missing box. So after more than six thousand dollars paid to them by my ex and I WE ARE SCREWED!!!

The insurance company has made an offer of $ 54 to fix a brand new headboard. I was provided an estimate over 4 times that. I was asked to reply in \writing if I dispute that amount. I did so. I heard nothing back for over a month. When contacted, the Insurance company representative did not have an answer for why she never responded other than she wasn’t sure what I was going to do. I contacted Fred to obtain his Registered Agent information for service of process. In true businessman fashion, he declined to provide it and told me to take it up with the insurance company. I looked up Apollo Moving & Storage, Inc., with the Sercretary of State to find the Corporation Status — Suspended. I was unable to find any other Corporation for Apollo Moving or the like that was Active. This would give me great hesitation if I were looking for a moving company in the future.
It truly is shameful we could not come to a resolution to repair what is a bad situation in a timely fashion.

I am a HUGE fan of these guys, I’m even signing up for Unilocal just to give them a positive review! They picked up craigslist furniture for me, stoered it for a bit, and delivered it to my new office in laguna niguel. Here’s why I love them:
1. They pick up the phone (sounds dumb but it matters when you need them)
2. The movers were early, but didn’t charge me until the start time
3. The movers were bright, clean, friendly and energetic (shout out to Miles and to Dean!)
4. They seemed super honest and had better rates than the other companies I talked to!

Terrible. I hired them bc my Irvine Company complex recommended them but they were the slowest movers EVER. I had everything packed up and ready to go but it took 2 guys over 3 hours to SLOWLY move me out of my 700 sq ft apartment. That’s not including moving me into the next place. Total time was like 5 hours and I noticed they charged me a half hour of travel time from their location to my house. Oh super. I was moving 4 blocks away and I’m paying for your drive to my place as part of my time?
They were unprepared and didn’t have the information on the new place and barely spoke English. They were short with me and rude when I asked them questions and I felt like I should’ve hired someone else. I would never recommend this business to anyone given the lack of service and the rude treatment I received here. They kept telling me they’d just cancel if I asked them questions. Terrible.
Next time, I’ll take the rude mover’s advice and hire a better moving company.

I’ve used movers at least 5 times and have never had a bad experience until now! The movers showed up an hour early at the wrong place! They took forever to drive to my new home then charged me overtime. I was quoted $ 80 an hour nothing was said about $ 120/​hour overtime. I would never use this company again.

I reported this company to the Better Business Bureau and the California Public Utilities Commission. They have also been removed from the Irvine Company’s «Preferred Movers» recommendation listing.

Dear Mr. Cook:
On March 4, I had contacted you via email to request a quote for moving the contents of my 1047 sq. ft. apartment, to my new place which is 5 miles away. You replied on March 5 giving me an estimate for my local move at $ 80/​hr. for 2 movers and 1 truck with a 3 hour minimum with no surcharges or add-​ons. This is the agreement that I had accepted.
On the day of my move, Friday March 29 at 8:15am, I met 2 of your movers who introduced themselves to me and said they were from your company. I showed them what needed to be moved, and they started to prepare. In the meantime, I was packing up the smaller contents with my mom in the apartment. It wasn’t until about an hour later, I noticed that there was a 3^rd person. At that time, I had asked Jesse who the other person was, and his response was «he was just here to help.» I didn’t think anything of it because I had the understanding that our contract was based on 2 movers, and if there was an additional person, he was there on his own accord.
They finished loading all the contents at 11:00 am. The total loading time was 2.75 hours. I asked the driver if he wanted to follow me, and he told me «he would meet me there.» The drive to my new apartment took me 10 minutes (5 miles), and at that time I proceeded to unload my car and help my mom with the smaller items of the move. After about an hour had passed and not seeing the moving truck, I decided to call you at 12:02 pm (per my phone records). You told me that they were on their way. At 12:19 (per my phone records) your driver called me asking for directions because they were lost. They didn’t arrive until 12:35 and then finished unloading at 3:00 pm. The total unloading time was 2.5 hours.
Based on the above events, there was a total of 5.25 hours of work involved (2.75 hours of packing and 2.5 hours of unloading), which at the agreed upon rate, comes out to be $ 420 for which I am agreeing to pay. You had billed me a total of $ 680 for 6.75 hours. This is $ 260 above what the rate that was agreed upon, and I am respectfully requesting a refund of $ 260 for the overcharge.
During the move, your guys had also damaged the interior of the new apartment which I had emailed you photos. The 1.5 hours it took them to get from my old apartment to the new one was unusually long, and when I asked them what happened, their response was that they went to get lunch and they got lost. When the move was done, I asked them why the charge was so much and they said that there was a 3^rd guy. I told them that I disagreed with the charges, and they said that I would have to discuss the discrepancies with you but that I needed to sign the paperwork to show that the work was done. I was hesitant, but I could tell that Jesse was getting aggravated by the tone of his voice and I didn’t feel safe confronting him further on this issue. I’m 5’2″ and 100 lbs. and the only other person besides your movers and myself, was my mom who is 64 years old. Your movers are big guys and with their demeanor towards me, I wasn’t a good idea to assert my position and risk mine or my mom’s safety. To diffuse the situation, I signed the paperwork and decided to call you on Monday to resolve the issues.
When I spoke with you on the phone, you didn’t give me an opportunity to explain the events as they unfolded and why I am asking for a refund. As a businessman, I would think you would at least provide the courtesy of listening to your customer and looking over these events to objectively make a decision. I may have been wrong to assume that of you, but as a consumer who has been taken advantage of, there are other ways to make my point be heard, and hopefully prevent other customers from falling into the same situation as myself with your company.
At this point, I am requesting my overpayment difference of $ 260 to make things right and I will cease pursuing my complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney State General, California Public Utilities Commission and any sort of online reviews of your business. I will also drop my damage charges.
Please let me know within 10 days or by 4÷12÷13.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE MAIN OFFICE
I reserved a date for my move. I was short on money. A day before the move I realized I did not have enough money to pay for the move. I called a guy Fred, which is apparently the owner. Finally when I had the money I scheduled the move. Now I find they charged twice $ 345.00 plus the expenses of the move which I paid. I called my bank and they told me the merchant would have to fix this. I called Apollo, Fred told me the charge was for reserving the date and he wouldn’t now remove the charge.
1) He never told me over the phone I would get hit by those $ 345.00 as a reservation.
2) His website says nothing about it either.
3) The contract and receipt i signed did not have the double charge…
Dishonest. Taking advantage of my funds in the bank to get their money. Now, I am on a minus and the guy Fred doesn’t care.
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! Dishonest.
On top I tipped the workers well. They told me it was good tips. Not fair to them to have a a dishonest boss!!!
BAD DEAL!

We have used Apollo twice in the last 13 months. Both times, they have been professional, on-​time, and very accomodating. The guys come in, make a plan and execute it quickly.
Each move they arrived in a very new truck, with plenty of moving pads and plastic wrap to wrap all my furniture.
You can’t beat their prices.

BTW, they only take credit cards on site.
