We bring the zoo to you and our presentations of some of the world’s friendliest and coolest reptiles are a both educational and fun! Reasonably priced and kid focused. You’ll find we have an excellent rapport with both children and adults and we love what we’re doing!

History

Established in 2004.

After 10 years of presenting animals at events in California’s Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, we now find that the vast majority of our customers are repeat clients, referrals and folks who found us on Yelp or Gig Salad. Positive customer reviews and referrals are a powerful thing!

I have always been a reptile collector and enjoyed sharing my collection with friends. I am a retired police captain (29 years), life long Scouter (45 years), world explorer and father of four kids. In all my years of experiences, I have never had more fun than I am having now, performing these shows! I think you’ll find my ability to relate to young audiences is the product of several decades of working with young people in a variety of roles. I take great pride in my business and I encourage you to read all of my online reviews.

the show was fantastic i had about 30 – 40 kids and another say 50 – 60 adults most were fascinated with this show (ok a few were creeped out) i spoke with christine to arrange the show she was very nice and had it all arranged. she called before hand to make sure i was ready we spoke a little while she was her these are BOTH great people.(her son was cool too) Steve did most of the talking and the demonstration from the moment he started he had control of all the kids it was great seeing the reactions to tank (a GIANT sulcata tortoise) now my son wants one as a pet LOL. the show had snakes lizards bugs all the creepy things and the kids loved it
because of christine steve and thier son (sorry forgot his name) it was great i would love to give them an even higher rating and say if you want an expierence BOOK them.

WOW!!! What a fantastic experience! Steve and Chris were AMAZING! The girls were mesmerized by the information, asked great questions, and were so excited to handle all of the animals. I told my daughter before the party started that I would absolutely not be touching any of the critters. But throughout the presentation, I started to feel more comfortable and actually held a leopard gecko, bearded dragon, and a corn snake! The kids had so much fun and I heard several of them say that this was the best party that they had ever been to! I HIGHLY recommend Cool Critters!!!

We had Steve, his great assistant, and his critters for our son’s sixth birthday. They all arrived at the park near our house in Laguna Beach and kept everyone’s attention from the time they stepped on the grass! Steve was great with the kids and he made them all feel comfortable. All the adults were just as interested in the animals as the kids. Best money ever spent on a birthday and had many parents ask for his information.

We had Steve and Christine come over for the first party that we’ve EVER hosted. They made it fun and easy for us. They’ve been doing this for 10 years or so and you can see their professionalism in the planning and presentation. Steve kept all the kids fully engaged especially the birthday boy. It was fun to see how some of the kids ended up surprising the parents during the «dare» part of the show. That everyone, including the grown ups, learned fascinating details about the exotic animals was a nice bonus. Highly recommended

I just had my son’s 5th birthday party with Cool Critters and it was incredible. Not only did the kids loved it, the adults also loved it. Steve Harding was very professional and very entertaining. He gave us a unique and wonderful experience that we will never forget. There were all kinds of reptiles big and small. Nobody in my family or friends has ever seen a reptile show before and they kept asking me where I found Steve. If you search for reptile shows, he is usually the one of the first results found. Cool Critters did an outstanding performance and I definitely would recommend them for a birthday party.

Steve & Christine were amazing, they held 20 x 4yr olds attention of the whole hour and everyone had a blast (parents included!).
The kids learnt a lot and really enjoyed being up close and even holding the critters. For those kids that did not want to hold or touch, they still enjoyed the show & watching their friends get close. There was no pressure to be involved if they did not feel comfortable.
This was a unique party experience which we are really pleased to have found.

I found Cool Critters on Unilocal.Steve was very professional with answering my e-​mails on a timely manner. The day of the party he arrived early and was very professional. We had about 30 kids ages 2 – 17 and they all loved it. The kids who wanted to touch the animals were able to and the ones that didn’t were able to watch. He played fear factor with them and I was amazed how brave they were! All the parents and kids were very impressed with the show. I would definitely recommend him, he is fantastic!

WOW! We hired Steve for my son’s 5th birthday party this past weekend and it was a big hit. Just like all the other reviewers said it was great fun for the adults as well as the children. Many parents told me this was the best reptile show they’ve seen. Steve was extremely professional and was able to handle our large group of around 30 kids ages 5 and under. Everyone who wanted to participate and touch each creature was able to.

What an amazing show! Cool Critters came to a birthday party that my son was invited to, and I can tell you that the adults were every bit as entertained as the kids. They have a great demeanor with the kids, and I can assure you that you will see and touch animals that you never thought you would… if your kids have even a passing interest in animals I highly recommend Cool Critters for your party.

We hired Steve for my son’s 6th birthday party. The show was fun, educational and very entertaining. The children and adults enjoyed it! My guests could not say enough about him after he left. Steve is great with communicating and working with the kids. I highly recommend Steve and Cool Critters!

My sister got Steve to come out for my nephew’s 5th birthday party and it was amazing! I even had fun, haha. Felt like a kid again! He was great interacting with a group of 2 year old to 10 year old kids, he was able to control them, and even teach them about the animals. All kids and parents gathered around and enjoyed the show. The Fear Factor game he plays at the end was the best part. Kids and adults got to hold the animals, pet them, and feed some of them worms. He’s even great at making sure you get good angles for pictures. And he made the birthday boy feel special by being able to do extra things and be his little helper.
I would definitely recommend him if you want a reptile party. Not only is the show great, but he is wonderful with kids and that makes a big difference. Best kids birthday I have been to so far! Wish I did this for my birthday.
Oh ya, he is also all about sanitizer at the end and keeping germs out of the mouth. Love that!

We hired Steve for my son’s 5th bday party. Steve did not disappoint. He was fantastic. My son was shy at first, especially with the smaller critters, but (as told by other reviewers), Steve had a great way of getting him comfortable and keeping the show going. Eventually my son warmed up and totally got into everything.
The fear factor show was a huge hits for the kids (and adults!) Cant say enough about the show. Worth every penny!

For my daughter’s 6th birthday she requested a reptile party. Recently, we went to a party with another reptile show. They just didn’t impress me. Nothing interactive. No handling of the animals. Pretty boring if you ask me. My kid likes to be involved. I remembered 6 years ago, my older daughter went to a reptile party and my husband had said the guy was awesome. This guy was Steve Harding, the Nature Guy @ Cool Critters. I immediately googled him and reserved a spot. Am I glad I did! Hands down THE best reptile show around! Steve was awesome with the kids, super informative, and let the kids hold a variety of animals. My daughter held about 12 of the 14 animals that were there. He used good judgment when allowing or not allowing the kids to handle his animals both for the safety of the kids and the animals themselves. Steve was very in tuned and connected with the children. He knew all about the animals and answered any questions the kids or parents had. Educational yet fun for ALL age groups. The Fear Factor option that he does was a definite bonus to my daughter’s party. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Steve Harding and his COOL CRITTERS for both boys or girls of any age group!

I can’t believe a review hasn’t been written for these folks yet!
Four years ago, I hired Steve Harding and his reptile pals for my son’s 6th birthday — it was a HIT!!! The adults (who had no children) enjoyed the show as much (if not more!) as the kids. To this day, they STILL talk about «that reptile show». We’ve since seen him at our friends’ kiddie parties, and just recently, in my backyard this past Saturday for my nephew’s 3rd birthday.
I’ve seen other reptile shows, and they just don’t compare. Cool Critters is one presentation we can watch over and over again!
Hire them… you won’t regret it!
