I had a sprinkler head that needed to be replaced and Victor came out that same day! He was very friendly and professional! He also gave me some more info on other things that needed attention. I will definitely use his services again! Thanks Victor!

Great, fast job. I called about 5 minutes before they closed on Monday evening. Told them I had sprinklers that were leaking. She squeezed me in at 10am the next day. Victor was there on time, figured out quickly what the problem was and gave me an estimate. I went back to work. He later texted me a picture of the fix, told me I could send the payment online so I didn’t have to leave work again. And the price was lower than the estimate. Thank you very much for doing a great job and making it so easy!

About six months ago, I hired Victor to come out and redo the sprinklers at my home in Orange, California after we had the lawn changed over to drought resistant plants. He came out quickly, quoted a very reasonable price, and got the work done quickly as well.
I was so happy with how quickly he came out that I asked him to give me a quote to maintain the landscape, and then hired him to do so based upon his $ 40.00 per visit ($ 80.00 per month) quote. At the time, he indicated that his hourly rate was $ 80.00 per hour, and that he estimated that it would take about half-​an-​hour for each visit.
When I hired him, I explained to him that I was away from this house quite a bit, that I was installing a smart sprinkler controller that adjusts the watering based upon temperature, humidity, etc., and that I needed him to let me know ASAP if it appeared that the plants were not getting enough water so that I could adjust the baseline calibration.
Fast forward four to five months. I visited the house after an absence and noticed that many of the plants were not doing well. They appeared as if they have not been getting enough water for quite some time. Yet, I had heard a word from Victor. I asked my wife to contact him to find out what was going on, and he told her that the plants have been suffering from a lack of water for several months and that his guys have been pruning the dead material and MANUALLY running the water to keep everything alive. Also, he’d been billing me $ 265 PER MONTH instead of the $ 80.00 per month that he quoted me, since he had to spend so much time there.
Once I learned that this was going on, I immediately adjusted the baseline watering calibration on the smart system and again told him that he needed to tell me RIGHT AWAY if the plants weren’t getting enough water. I also told him NOT to manually water, as that defeated the whole purpose of having a smart sprinkler controller.
Another month went by and I got another $ 265 monthly bill from Victor. I returned to the house again to find that most of the plants have improved. But, the plants in one area have gotten substantially worse. I checked the drip sprinklers in that zone and found that the flow rate in that one area is about 10% of the flow rate of the other zones. This is something that I brought to Victor’s attention within a month after he did the install. He told me that he corrected it, but he apparently didn’t.
When I emailed Victor, he advised me (for the very first time in six months) that the plants did, indeed, need more water and that they had all improved since I had increased the baseline. That’s not entirely true, however. While most have improved, the area with the very low flow rate is not doing well at all. It needs an even greater increase over baseline because of the very low flow rate, but I didn’t know to do that because he never told me that the area continued to have trouble.
After I explained to Victor that he had let me down, he changed his story and stated that the reason that the plants are dying is not due to lack of water, but due to moles and other pests. Even if that’s true, it’s something he should have told me four months ago. Also, I’m doubtful that it’s true, because things improved substantially after I increased the baseline calibration on the sprinkler system (except the one area with the very low flow rate).
If moles were the problem, I would expect the problems to get worse everywhere as time passed, regardless of the amount of water that the sprinklers were delivering. Also, our area has very little topsoil, and probably not enough for moles to live.
On the plus side, Victor is very quick to respond. He is obviously intelligent and, unlike many people in the landscaping business, he is very articulate. However, despite his very strong communication skills, he simply did not use them when he needed to, and was unable to stick to his commitment on the price for monthly landscaping. He also seems to have a tendency to blame the customer, instead of accepting responsibility for his mistakes.
Update: After I initially posted this review, I asked Victor to let me know if I got anything incorrect. In an email, he told me that every single fact in this review is incorrect, presumably including the fact that I even hired him to do work at my home. He also stated that everything was fine until I installed the smart sprinkler controller, and that it (and not him, and apparently not the moles) were the cause of the problems. He also noted that, by posting this negative review, I was hurting his business, and by extension his family and his crew, and urged me to take it down, so that others would not be aware of what he’d done in my case.

Needed someone to help install the company’s sprinkler system and it was a pleasure working with Victor, he’s worked till the job was done he was very courteous and professional it was great working with him.

Well I had Victor out to give me an estimate and he verbally told me and said he would text me everything so I would have it. I have tried to contact him 4 – 5 times via text & phone and nothing, it’s like he fell of the earth? This isn’t a company that I would feel comfortable working with if they can’t get back to a potential customer.

We contacted Dirty Work Landscaping, they were super responsive, came out right away and got the job done. WELL WORTH THE MONEY! Thank you Victor!

In an effort to update the design and functionality of my yard, conform to the new water regulations and restrictions and to have a new retaining wall built to protect from an approaching canyon slope at one end of my property, I made arrangements for work to be done and scheduled a start date and had three + pallets of retaining wall blocks delivered to my
front of my garage. On the Saturday the work was scheduled to begin, my landscaper was a no-​show, and when I phoned him, he said he couldn’t do it. My immediate problem was what about all those pallets making it very difficult to get out of my garage, and each block was so heavy, that I could not pick up even one.
On Sunday I reviewed all the landscape companies in the Anaheim Hills area and came across Victor and Dirty Work Landscape Co. and did use the Unilocal reviews as a guide. Desperate as I was, I called them on a Sunday and within 5 minutes I had a return call from Victor. On Monday morning he was at my house with a work crew and details about what they would do, and exact breakdown of costs. I’d had one of the popular garden chains redo one half of my front yard using their designer, their plants, and labor subcontracted out to another firm. The result was a disaster and a lot of refunds.
Victor’s company should be called Excellent Work Landscape and he and his crew have been at my property for more than two weeks, completing a new retaining wall, building a gorgeous planter around an old Magnolia tree, tearing up all the old lawn in my side yard and replacing it with pavers and planting drought tolerant plants. They brought in a huge rototiller machine, removed all the dead lawn, cut back roots and tilled the soil down to where the pavers could be properly laid. And, they hauled everything away.
I now have an entirely new sprinkler system, with drip systems and the new sprinkler heads that conform to the City’s specs. and they replaced 30 years of broken, buried and non– functioning sprinklers which did nothing but waste water. I also contracted with him to redo the other half of my front yard with my own design and I purchased all my own plants at Home Depot. They again removed all the old lawn, took out roots from trees, did several rounds with the rototiller and tonight finished the planting.
My front yard has become a traffic stopper, and I cannot tell you how much I’ve enjoyed working with Victor and his very diligent and courteous and pleasant crew.
I’m also going to have them maintain my yard so that it will continue to look as lovely as it does now, and eventually have him do outdoor lighting for me.

Can’t really tell you about their work — I called to get an appointment/​quote (after we had a sprinkler controller damaged by vandals). No answer, so I left a message and never received a call back.

Excellent work done by Victor and team Friday and Saturday (Mar 13 and 14). Prepping our house for sale and the front and back yards needed work — including laying of a lot of pebbles. Mind you, the team worked endlessly under the sweltering heat, including weeding, getting rid of old plants, planting new ones, and wheelbarrowing pebbles from driveway to backyard. Victor made sure that we we discussed was fulfilled –beyond my family’s expectations. Most importantly, his team — Sal & Timo — took time to speak to our son, who has special needs, when my wife brought him out to observe what they were working on!
I will just say this — If you want your yard to transformed and you want your expectations exceeded — both in price and workmanship — Go to Victor and Dirty Work. They take great pride in their workmanship :)

Victor came over the same day and did a fantastic job of fixing my sprinkler system for an extremely reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Victor and Sal did a great job with getting my three sprinkler valves repaired or replaced. They got my timer working which really helps me to keep my lawn looking good. Don’t let the name fool you. They most certainly do all the dirty work for you but their service is squeaky clean. Victor and Sal replaced a handful of old leaky sprinkler valves in the back and a broken sprinkler head that some gigantic termite fumigator trampled on. Excellent communication and work. Would highly recommend.

Just had Victor and Sal replace 2 sprinkler valves. Super nice to work with. Although there were major hassles involved in the job that were unexpected, Victor handled it very professionally and stuck to his original quote. I would absolutely recommend them and use them again.
Price was reasonable and he accepted my PayPal as payment which is a plus!!!

Victor and his group do amazing work. Very detailed oriented and stays until the job is done, no matter the hour. His referral network for extended needs is also exceptional. Originally was just going to use for sprinkler repairs but now does the landscaping regularly.

First time on Unilocal for a good reason. Great service and great work. Had repairs done to the sprinkler valves. Was advised to replace the whole line since 4 out of 6 were failing. Brought in commercial grade materials for residential prices. Replaced all 6 valves, all pipes, and tossed in a new brass shut off valve to replace my busted plastic one. Also replaced the standard cheap white PVC pipe with some high grade grey pipe to give it a polished look. Took Under Promise and Over Deliver to a whole new level. Also since he had to remove the plant material to dig out the valves, he replaced plants by using cuttings from another plant nearby. Looks sharp and works great. If I ever need any major assistance on my yard work again, would call on them in a heart beat.

Great service and attention to detail. I am defiantly not a work in the yard kind of woman… a friend recommended these guys and I’m glad I called them. I was looking for someone to install sprinklers and lay sod down in my backyard. They came and got the job done in a timely manner and my yard looked phenomenal. I used their services up until the time we sold our home and moved to Northern California. Now I can’t find anyone who gets the job done as well as they did.
