Dolphin’s Cove Resort

One star. Two words: bed bugs.
The two people staying in the one room both ended up with bed bugs. We went separate ways, to different states; both doctors we sought said they were bed bug bites.
On the first day we arrived, both individuals who stayed in that room saw what they thought were «little beetles» on their beds.
Besides the bed bugs; there were bags of trash and dirty liens in the hallways for almost two days before it was picked up.
The sheets on the beds were dirty or stained with brownish /​red stains. The floors were so dirty that walking around while getting ready for bed produced black foot prints in the shower.
There was broken glass in the dishwasher and it proceeded not to clean the entire time we were there, the disposal was clogged and smelled horribly.
We called Dolphin Cove to let them know about the issue with bed bugs, and they were unapologetic and unconcerned. Beyond the obvious issues of public health, bringing bed bugs home was horrific.
Whatever money we wanted to save by staying here was lost in all the laundry we had to wash, all the bedding we took to the laundry mat, all the mattress covers we bought, the doctors bills and prescriptions. Avoid the extra expenses and don’t stay here.

The worst experience I’ve had at a Winham resort. My kids and I checked in last night to room#310 as «VIP guests» to a member. We go somewhere every year. This year we stayed local. Well, let me say Dolphin Cove is no where near being a cove. Keys do not work to enter the room, a bag of dirty linens as you arrive to your room door as a welcome package, and Not to mention «Resort Policy» to put a $ 20 deposit for breakfast that should be complimentary. No shower curtain and no towels. Its so bad I want to turn around and check out asap. I feel like I’m at the Motel 6 penthouse. HORRIBLE! and it’s loud! You can here the a/​c from the unit next door and laundry service that’s somewhere downstairs all from the second floor. Sounds more like a truckers lodge.

This was a great find!!! For what you pay for a a small hotel room, you can have a kitchenette (stove, fridge, sink, dishwasher, dishes, table for four, etc.) and a living room (couch, chair, coffee table, extra space) We had a two bedroom on the first level. The floor plan is great. Great common living space (living room, kitchen and access to patio). This was very comfortable for four adults. My husband and I would like to come back again. As of this writing, no extra fees for parking your car (many hotels charge a fee for parking). Easy access to pool. We walked to Disney (a bit of walk, however we enjoy walking). Really enjoyed our visit here. The staff was great at check in and check out. We really did not have to contact them for anything during our 4day/​3night stay. Great job Dolphin Cove.

Pampered here! This place was clean, new and exceeded our expectations! We will return! What a deal from groupon! I decided I couldn’t sleep around 9:45 without my fan sleep sounds and they delivered 2 fans to my for 10 minutes later. I know. I’m weird/ .

Good small resort great for those with younger children. My boys liked the putting green out of our back door!
Checking in was quick and easy. The unit was clean, well stocked and quiet! Resort is conveniently located to all things mouse.

I rarely give five stars unless someone goes WAY Above & Beyond, so this is a great review. We stayed here for Halloween 2014 and loved it. Very clean and wonderful staff and facilities.
Our unit backed up to the pool which was convenient. No noise at all. Complex has a security gate which was an added measure to peacefulness. We are going back again after Christmas.

The appeal to this place is that it’s close enough to Disneyland (approx. ¼ mile) and provides more spacious accommodations that other nearby locations.
I will admit that it is a bit older than most of the Wyndham locations I’ve been to. but after staying at several of the other non-​chain hotels in the area, it is definitely a great place. I will say that if you stayed on location at Disneyland or used one of the well known chain hotels in the area you may have a be closer and have a newer building, but you definitely will be paying the price for it. As compared to the local inns and smaller hotels in the area that are still priced high, it’s great to have this an option to timeshare owners and those who rent from timeshare sites.
Loved being able to have a full kitchen and a living room to drop off all our stuff after a long day at the parks. Safe private parking and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this place others as long as they don’t mind a little walk (honestly, after walking all day in the parks… it’s not much further) or they are close to the local shuttle stops to the parks (for a small fee).

Positive: Great location, grills are clean, except you have to call someone to turn it on every time you want to use it, plenty of parking, quiet.
Negatives: No laundry in the unit (I have small kids so it is hard for me to do laundry out of the unit.), air condition unit is soooo loud very annoying, microwave vent did not work so every time I cook, the alarm went off. No screen door to patio so I couldn’t open the door either. I requested for them to come and fix and don’t know if they did or not, cause it never worked. so just gave up. This is a wyndham resort… so I am disappointed since I am a wyndham TS owner for many many years now. Our room was stinking like old carpet or cooking oil. No air ventilation. It needs a face lift inside and out.

Stayed here for 4 days. Rooms were clean & staff was EXCELLENT & very friendly. Enjoyed the game room & pool area. Rooms had everything I needed. The only complaint I have is no central a/​c. Just a wall unit in the living room. Other than that I would give 5 stars. Would definitely stay here again.

Ugh, I really wanted to give it a good review… but I will not stay there again. It’s a Wyndham resort to boot, although our stay was not booked through our timeshare; it was through
. We checked in after hours and the staff was GREAT! 1 star for them. Our 1 bedroom unit was on the 2^nd floor but no elevator access. That sucked… lugging all of our stuff up the stairs is a major inconvenience. The carpets were horrid! I did not walk without slippers or socks on! The wall unit air conditioner seemed to only have 2 settings: MAX ON or OFF. The master bedroom only had an overhead fan and it was like a hot summer day in there all the time. The bathroom was small, as was the kitchen. Sigh… there is 1 pool. But with the whole complex congregating there, I’d rather not… Sigh, I was actually really looking forward to staying there, but was so disappointed with accommodations that I will not. Oh, the 2^nd star in my rating is because Dolphin Cove is an 5 minutes away from the Disneyland parks.

Great location at an inexpensive cost… near Disneyland and tons of restaurants. Staff are very friendly. The room we stayed in has just been renovated. Great pool, jacuzzi, children’s pool, nice large gas grills to BBQ out by the pool. Daily activities n crafts for children. Facility and common areas are well kept. A small putt putt golf on grounds, ping pong table in pool area, movies and games to borrow from the front desk, gated parking area. Nice big room with big screen TV, fitness room, laundry facilities, etc.
My only negative was that the a/​c is only in the living room. There was a tall fan for the bedroom which was actually quite efficient, but in the heat of August that may present a problem.
We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

This is kind of absurd, but we only stayed here for a couple of hours before standing in line for Disneyland’s 60^th anniversary. Used the place to take a short nap and shower.
Let’s start off with the pros. The staff who work here are so kind. Wasn’t expecting that. I like how large the rooms are. I seriously think this used to be an apartment complex? It is nice that the rooms are fully function living spaces. You can cook on the stove, store food in the fridge. So convenient.
When you arrive you check in, use your key card to open the parking gate. What I didn’t like was that there isn’t an elevator going up to the 2^nd floor. You have to lug your luggage up the stairs. Kind of hard after being in a car all day. Yesh! Next complaint is the air conditioner is only in the living room. There is a fan in the bedroom, but what good will that do in the super hot summers? Lastly is how uncomfortable the couch bed is. I was expecting something less stiff.
All in all, great price for a roof over your head.

The real shining star at this resort was the staff. They were beyond accommodating and helpful.
I came here with my autistic sister in order to have a getaway to Disneyland for the weekend. The staff were so kind to her and I as we navigated the resort. The were open and welcoming taking time to answer all of my sister’s questions and interact with her.
Rooms were lovely and we were able to take a bus daily to Disneyland. The first night back we were greeting with a wine and cheese reception in the lobby. The perfect way to recover after a day at Disney!
Overall this hotel made our trip and the staff were probably some of the best I have encountered.

First impression is this place needs to be updated. It also had a bad smell when we walked in :(as far as timeshares go this probably is one of the lower end ones we stayed at. Considering it is so close to Disneyland I was hoping they had more amenities for children but they didn’t. Overall it wasn’t terrible but also not sure if we would stay there again. Bring your own pillows!

second time staying here. layout is beautiful with all the landscape and trees, pool, and décor. in the morning i see the staff cleaning or making sure its all in order. i had a one bedroom unit which also included a sofa bed in livingroom.
PROS:

CONS:
–location— though it is close to disneyland, i wouldnt recommending walking there.
–appearance — yes unit needs updating, but i think the furniture was fairly good.
–only two guest parking i seen
–air conditioning only in livingroom (fan in bedroom though).
–wifi couldve been faster
this is not a motel said in other reviews. motels dont come with full kitchen, full fridge, a patio deck or balcony! lets be real here! it isnt superior top notch hotel either but thats why is isnt super expensive. thus, my rating of three stars.

5 star classy hotel! We had the time of our lives at this timeshare. A mere 25 minute walk to Disneyland. Food options within walking distance. Liquor store across the street that sells milk, soda, ice cream etc. Ample amount of secured gated parking! Big beautiful clean pool, arcade room with big screen tv and comfy chairs! Our room had two bedrooms. One bedroom had two twins, the other had a queen size bed! Very comfy! Clean room, NO BED BUGS !!! Full size kitchen with stove and fridge. Stocked with dishes and glassware! Fully operational dishwasher! Living room and dining room! Huge private outdoor patio! :-) no gripes about this place once so ever
TIP: WALK 10 MINUTES TO THE DISNEY LAND PARKING LOT ON HARBOR, ACT LIKE YOU PARKED THERE AND GET A FREE A.C. COOLED BUS RIDE TO THE FRONT OF THE PARK AND BACK WHEN YOUR DONE!

BED BUGS! Worst experience ever!!! We got BED BUGS after staying in this hotel! The hotel was dirty and we came back with an infestation of BED BUGS! We have a time share with WorldMark, and informed them of the BEDBUGS and they did nothing! Don’t stay here you will regret it!

I brought the family here for our 2-​day Disney adventure. I’ve stayed at several resorts by this company, and would come back here while I play tourist in the Anaheim area but this is not a place I would have an extended stay. Its a rather smaller ‘resort’ (real estate in this area is prime) and I would like to stay at a larger facility for longer stays and not so close so such busy roads.
Don’t get me wrong, its not a bad experience, just not as good as the typical WorldMark/​Wyndham (I am an owner).

Not a bad place for a family vacation. I’ll break it down by pros and cons.
Pros:
Sock monkey making class for kids (awesome)
Other nifty activities.
Free Laundry
Nice pool
Very secure with gated entry and security guard
Because it is almost a mile away from Disneyland, you can walk about ¼ mile to the Disneyland overflow parking area and take their buses in
Small Kitchen in all the units with full size refrigerator
Free, Nice BBQ’s to use.
Cons:
A/​C Unit is very loud and is only in the main room. There is no a/​c in the bedroom.
We had two rooms side by side. There is no adjoining door. We were kind of planning on the rooms being adjoining because we were going to put the kids on one. Not Dolphin’s fault, but a definite con for us.
The biggest one, they’re freakin far from what I would consider walking distance to Disneyland if you have little kids. 0.9 miles is what my gps said.
Bathrooms are tiny.
Overall it is a decent place if you are planning on spending most of your time at the theme parks. I was a little disappointed with the distance from Disney and the non-​adjoining rooms, but they do some great activities that really made up for it.

Choose Dolphin’s Cove Resort primarily for its location. This is probably why it is as popular as it is. Being a few blocks from Disneyland, you can walk to the front gate in around 20 minutes. In the surrounding blocks there are plenty of restaurants at which to eat, and one or two blocks more will get you to a grocery store (Vons) and Target.
That said, it is an older facility. I wouldn’t think it’s much better than some of the smaller hotels in the area. It could use a lot of upgrading, but again, chances are that you targeted this area of Anaheim to be out and about each day, not at the resort.
Their outdoor pool is nice, and heated, and even though it only goes to 4 and a half feet deep, there is also a hot tub and kid’s pool. The new-​ish gas grills outside are nice, too. They also have two clean, fast, free, and easy to use PCs for guests.
The resort provides a few events daily for entertainment, and you can rent movies and board games at the front desk.
Besides is generally being an older resort, there are a few things that irked me about Dolphin’s Cove. All the employees were very quick, friendly, and efficient when asked for things, but when we got into our unit there wasn’t a full compliment of towels, and whoever placed the refrigerators wasn’t thinking when they arranged them in one of the units, since the doors opened into the kitchen instead of the wall, and there isn’t enough room to crack them open while still standing in front of them.
Most of the lights in our units were not connected to the light switches (which only controlled the ceiling fans), so we had to manually turn on/​off each light. May not be a big deal, but surely an inconvenience in this day and age, again showing how old this place is.
Lastly, the carpets in our units really needed to be steam-​cleaned, or replaced altogether. The carpet in the main room was obviously much darker in the high-​traffic areas, and walking around barefoot or with socks confirmed how dirty the floors were.
Again, the location and staff of Dolphin’s Cove are great, but don’t expect an up-​to-​date, cutting edge facility.
