We went on a wild goose chase trying to find this place, not because it was hard to find but apparently Siri is a real B and thought it would be funny to send us to a different Mexican restaurant and then to an industrial building. F U Siri! Anyways once we got there I had a feeling it was going to be good because the parking lot was full. When we walked in the atmosphere was cozy and old school, just the way I like it. We ordered margaritas on the rocks because blended margies are for suckers. They were good but the balance was a little off. There was a little more sour than sweet on the sweet & sour mix so I just ordered us an extra shot to split between the two cocktails and that seemed to do the trick. I couldn’t decide what to get, so I did the 3 item combo with a crunchy ck taco, tamale and chili reaño. Everything was delicious, and the tamale had lots of meat. I did however instantly a regret not getting the fajitas as soon as one order passed by. They smelled sooooo good! Next time. We got the Kahlua mud pie which was HUGE! Three of us split it. All and all very good. I liked this place a lot.

Really poor service I asked for glass of water and server didn’t show up with the glass of water 30 min later. Food was not authentic Mexican as they advertise.

Wow. All you haters out there are full of $h!%! I came in today during happy hour and the bar area was pumping. They even had a party of 20 and the service was still top notch. Margaritas were strong and food was flavorful and hot. This place deserves better ratings for their hard work. Peace out.

Love Don Jose’s! We are regulars and have been for many years. Never disappointed. The staff is great, the food is amazing, and your experience there is never complete unless you have one of their pomegranate margaritas YUM!

Excellent service the servers make sure you are taken care of in a proper time. They keep coming back and giving me a new glass of Pepsi every time my previous glass was running low. I wasn’t really into the beef tamale they had but it’s only my first time here and I have plenty of other options to choose from next time. For sure coming back.

Came in at 10pm and I was a little nervous that the staff would be irritated that we came in late and pretty close to closing time. However, staff was very nice, very friendly, and gave great service! Food was also very good!

I wouldn’t call Don Jose authentic Mexican food. Its is more like the Americanized version of Mexican food. Honestly, I didn’t see authentic Mexican dishes like lengua(beef tongue), pastor, menundo, and pesole. To start off, my friends and I ordered each a lime margarita during their happy hour. For $ 3, it was definitely refreshing and delicious yet not too weak neither too strong. Their servings of margaritas come in a huge margarita glass which isn’t too shabby for $ 3. We were served a side of chips and salsa. The chips were crispy and thin just the way I like it without being oily and greasy. However, their salsa selection was a disappointment. We were served regular salsa and pico de gallo. Both salsas were bland to my taste. It could have been more sour and spicy. At other restaurants like Cha Cha’s, they serve a tomatillo verde and a roasted tomatillo salsa which provides more depth and flavor to the salsa. I ordered the steak fajitas. It came on a big cast iron skillet with generous amount of steak topped with grilled onions and bell peppers. The entrée also came with a side of refried beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, and your choice of corn or flour tortillas. Honestly for $ 15, it was good deal comparing the amount of steak fajitas that they give you to other places like El Torrito or Acapulco. The staff here was friendly and quite attentive. They brought us our margaritas in less than 5 minutes after our drink order was placed. Also, our server kept checking in on us and asking us how our food was. She also kept replacing our chips and salsa with fresh ones. Overall, I am pleased with the service here at this location. However, they could improve the flavors of their salsas and offer more salsa selections to their customers.

This is a great alternative than eating at Knotts Berry Farm. We go here either after visiting the park or just for taking a break. We usually sit in the bar and receive excellent service. Beware, the portions are huge and flavorful. The chips and salsa are also top notch. Give them a try!

Great Chips and Salsa, which for me defines a Mexican Food restaurant and starts off your meal. Margaritas were good also. I went with the Tostada Grande with chicken, the chicken was tender and tasty. Wife had the Wet Burrito and she really enjoyed it. We sat in the bar on a Sunday afternoon and received great service. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area.

This place never fails when t comes to food or the margaritas. Price is good for the amount of food you get. The servers are really friendly. Complimentary salsa and chips. Bomb I recommend getting the rafaels flautas.

This is just like how they do Mexican food in the Midwest… no flavor, no spices, basically take Caucasian ingredients and throw inside a tortilla and call it a day. Went with 5 peeps from school and tries all their food and wasn’t a single thing I thought was good. Margaritas were okay… but that was a quantity vs quality thing…

Don Jose’s is a frequent go-to for our family. The service is quick and efficient, the chips and salsa are fresh, and the food is good. It is not quite authentic, but for the price and quality, it is worth it. The chicken Mexican Pizza is usually my go-to, but I also like the flautas, taquitos, chicken quesadilla, and Rafael’s special. The location is conveniently located on my way from the freeway(91⁄5 interchange) so some nights I’ll even stop on my way home from work or meet with a group. They do offer a rewards club that sends out coupons often. Usually a BOGO with 2 drink purchase or $ 10 off $ 25. They also offer a $ 2 Taco Tuesday, although I find their meats and toppings to be a little flavorless and opt for something else off their menu.
