Freddy’s Tree Service

To be honest, can’t really rate Freddy’s Tree Service on his work. He didn’t do the work that he agreed to! First, he was late for the appointment we made a day in advance for an estimate, (without calling) even though I called him that same morning to confirm our appointment to which he again agreed. We agreed on the estimate and date for the work to be done, he said he was in the local area and would do the work that same day, that he would call. Later in the early afternoon, after no communication from Freddy’s Tree Service, I again call him to set an approximate time, which we agreed upon. After a no show at the agreed set time, I for the third time called him, as again no communication from him. He stated he could not make it and said «MAYBE? Tomorrow? Excuse me? My time is just as valuable as yours buddy! If you can’t make it, have the decesency to call ! If you don’t want the job, then don’t agree to it. So there is my honest review of Freddy’s Tree Service, hope that helps others… sincerely, somewhat perturbed (could have been) customer.

Fantastic service, I will definitely recommend Freddy’s. His son Sam & his crew arrived same day (we were their 4^th job yesterday) and they were as energetic as if we were their first. They trimmed 3 large trees and 1 Grapefruit tree and cleaned & hauled everything away including hundreds of grapefruits in about 2 hours. They left the yard in better shape then when they arrived. Their pricing is remarkable for the amount of work they did. If you need tree service Freddy’s is the one to call.

I made an appointment for an estimate and when the appointment time came and passed I called to ask if the estimator was on his way. I was told he was running late and then the conversation went something like this:
Me: «Do you have my phone number?»
He: «Yes, we have it. «
Me: «Then you should have called me to explain that your estimator was going to be late. When should I expect him to arrive?»
He: «Actually, we cannot do your estimate until next week.»
Me (after laughing out loud): «Thank you very much. Have a nice day. «
Unprofessional and unreliable. Fair warning… go elsewhere for tree trimming.

I had called to get quotes from several of the local tree service companies and Freddy’s was not only able to beat the other quotes that I had received but was also able to get the job completed the very next day, which was awesome as at least one of the other companies wouldn’t be able to start the job for another 3 weeks.
I just had an elm tree that needed pruning but the work was completed quickly and the crew cleaned up everything just before they left.

Don’t judge the old man Freddy by his looks or demeanor… he’s got the expertise and experience in this line of work and he delivers… I was a bit skeptical when I first met him to do the estimate to remove 2 trees in my yard and power grind their stumps. he’s kinda old school but he has a word of honor and makes good on it… he came right on time as agreed upon with a full complement of crew, power equipment (stump grinder), wood chipper/​shredder in 2 large trucks. completed the job in 1 hour, hauled away debris and left the yard clean. I contracted him for $ 550 but I was very impressed by his job that I paid him
$ 600…yes I’d recommend him and I’ll use him again in the future.

Apparently their definition of ground level is different than our layman definition of ground level.
I had a dead palm (no leave, just a trunk and stump) that I wanted to take out. We were good at the price at $ 200 for them to cut it down at GROUND LEVEL. I even asked in advance to make sure they would haul the trunk away. Since the palm has been their for awhile, a small mount of dirt built up around the trunk about a foot high. The guys started cutting with chainsaw. To my surprise, once they clear the exposed trunk, they stopped cutting leaving that whole 1 foot trunk + the small dirt mount sticking out of the ground in my front yard. Not sure about everyone else in the world but to me, if something is protruding a whole foot out of the ground, that’s no GROUND LEVEL. After going back and forth for 5 minutes without any success of getting the guys to honor the world standard of ground level, I just cut my loss and paid them $ 200.
Future customers be ware. If you’re going to ask them to trim your hedges shoulder height, make sure to specify how many feet, else you might get Shaq’s shoulder height.

Freddy came over same day to remove a dead Birch tree. Professional and fairly priced. I will definitely use again and recommend.

They came out to bid on a job of trimming/​shaping 74 eugenia trees and a carrotwood. Their estimate came in quite a bit lower than the others’. They offered to do the job the same day, but I asked for another day, to which they accommodated.
On the day of the job, they arrived early/​on-​time and began work. They made sure to communicate to me what they were going to do to make sure that it was what I wanted. They got the job done quickly and left the site cleaner than when they started.
Good guys, would recommend.

Made tree trimming appointment 2 weeks in advance. Called 3 days before and confirmed. They never showed up on the scheduled day. Both my husband and I took the day off to be at home… rescheduled and experienced shoddy, incomplete and slow work. Sal was very rude and unaccomodating when asked to trim more from trees. Refused unless I paid him more. Called Freddy who said he would call Sal and ask him to do the job at no extra charge. Sal again refused stating he has his own accounts and does what he wants. Went to inspect after they left. Found piles of tree branches left behind and minimal cleanup. I made sure they would not get a $ 3,100 job i had them quote for my office park. Cheryl.

Believe the 5 stars. Their bid was quick, professional and very competitive. A crew of 5 showed up on time and TOILED over 10 hours cutting down 4 tress (three were Eucalyptus over 70 feet high) and removing a retaining wall with a substantial concrete footer. They came with a truck mounted cherry picker, wood shredder, monster stump grinder and two haul away trucks. They dropped limbs/​trunks from 80′ with amazing precision (I have an iron fence that runs by the tree trunks within 1′-4′). They were meticulous in grinding all stumps well below surface level. And NO property damage. They hauled all debris away. A lot of things could go wrong with the job I hired them to do. They met and exceeded my expectations. Look around then hire these guys!

I called Freddy to come out and quote having 13 trees and 2 huge stumps removed from my backyard. He came the next day to give me the quote, gave it quick and let me know he wanted the business. He outbid every other competitor by ~$ 400 and by far had the lowest price. He also let me know he owns his own equipment which is why he can keep the cost down. He also let me know he could finish in 1 day, when other companies were quoting 2+ days. The quote was at 3:00 pm and by 3:00 pm the next day, every stump and tree was removed. How is that for quick and painless? He had me inspect his work before paying to ensure I was 100% satisfied. He even said if I wasn’t home I could inspect his work and then mail the check… how is that for trust?! I was more than satisfied with his work, he went wayyyyy down to remove the stumps and took all the overgrown, above the ground roots out. Thank you so much Freddy! :)

I can’t say enough good things about Freddy and his crew. I called Freddy and he was able to come out and give me a free estimate the same day I called. I needed to have 2 Palms removed and trim a Plum tree. I was concerned because one of the Palms was growing between the wires that ran from the house to the utility pole. He said it would not be a problem. His estimate was extremely reasonable but we asked to think it over for a day or so, he said no problem, wasn’t pushy at all. I called back a couple days later and set-​up the appointment.
His crew arrived on the day of the appointment and went straight to work. While removeing the Palm cthat ran between the wires, the wires fell down, but they made sure to put them back into place when they were done (I was sooo greatful for that!)Some branches fell into our neighbors yards, but they made sure to clean it up. They finished the job so quickly I was amazed. They cleaned up everything and I was impresed that they did not even damage the new flowers I had just planted around the Plum Tree that was getting trimmed. They removed the stumps and all so I am able to replant in the areas the trees were at. This was a great group of guys that worked quickly, efficiently and I would defintley use them again. Great work!

When I purchased my home, removal of a few trees that were causing me problems (messy pines with root problems, sap, etc.) was at the top of my list. However, I delayed having the work completed because I have always heard that it was an expensive project to undertake and, considering I had 4 trees to remove, I didn’t think I was in the position to commence the job.
I had a few local landscapers give me quotes that were way too high and I was skeptical of their ability and experience to remove the large trees on my property. So I called a few tree experts, including Freddy, because I wanted assurance that the job was going to be done correctly. Freddy quoted me the best price and I had confidence that he knew what he was doing.
Freddy was able to schedule me in within a few days. He arrived with a crew of 8 men and ran an extremely efficient operation. These were very large trees and there was stump grinding involved. They did an excellent job on the cleanup, replaced broken irrigation pipes and hauled everything away. Freddy even came back the following day because I thought there was an issue with the sprinklers. He went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with his work.
I was extremely impressed with Freddy and his crew and would recommend him to anyone who is looking for tree services.

Amazed! I got a card for Freddy‘s through the post box, and the timing was perfect as we were battling with the bamboo forest we inherited when we bought our house a month ago. Finally threw in the towel and called Freddy. He came round within half an hour, chuckled goodnaturedly at my attempts to remove the forest with a handsaw, gave me an estimate on the spot that blew me away it was so reasonable, and is coming tomorrow morning to free my life of bamboo.
It just dawned on me that I don‘t know this guy from Adam and maybe I should come to Unilocal and just check and see what others are saying about him — seems like I‘ve struck gold! Can‘t wait to get the job done tomorrow and will hand over the money with pleasure :) !

They‘ve just finished! Freddy and the gang worked their butts off and they‘ve done an amazing job. They completely cleaned up and you would never know the bamboo, or Freddy‘s team, were even here!
Can‘t thank them enough for a brilliant job well done. Very polite, very professional and very hardworking. We will definitely be calling on them for more garden help in the future and I can‘t recommend them highly enough.

It was time for us to clean up the trees around our home and our wonderful gardener (who does our yard weekly for an amazing price) gave us an estimate for the work. Having no clue what a reasonable price for the job was, we decided to get a couple more estimates. Freddy’s answered my call and scheduled an estimate for a few hours later. I contacted another local company with great Unilocal reviews. They didn’t answer the phone, so I submitted a request via their online form and I did not hear back from them that day.
Freddy came and gave me an estimate that sounded pretty reasonable. As a reference, I wanted to completely remove two trees (a large peach tree and an overgrown China Doll tree). I also needed to trim a very overgrown ficus tree, and two smaller trees. This seemed like quite a bit of work to me, but we liked the number he gave us. I told him I was just waiting on one more estimate and I’d get back to him.
The following morning, he called to inquire if I was ready to make a decision. I hadn’t heard back from the other company and wanted one more estimate. However, Freddy threw me a curve and sweetened the deal by knocking off $ 100 off the price he previously offered me. I was blown away at how reasonable the initial price was, but this was now an offer that couldn’t be refused. I agreed to have his team do the work and they were knocking on my door within an hour.
3.5 hours after arrival, they had finished the job and had cleaned everything up perfectly. Only three men completed the work and you wouldn’t believe how efficiently they worked. They removed both trees (including all roots) and trimmed a ton off of the other trees.
This is honestly as pain-​free as I can imagine a job like this going. Within 36 hours of inquiring about trimming and removal, my yard is completely cleaned up and at a price that more than likely could not be beat.

Hired Freddy and his crew to remove trees at our house. They were very fast, clean and fair priced. They did such a great job, we hired them to remove concrete as well! They came, they saw, and they conquered. Very professional.
If you need trees/​shrubs/​plants removed, they are the guys to call. They even do concrete/​paver removal!

WOW!!!
We had a huge ficus tree removed today– 40′ + the roots. These guys are amazing! They had the tree out, roots dug out, and cleaned not only our yard but got permission from our neighbors and cleaned their side-​all in 2 hours!
Eddie and Sal were both on top of everything, and we now have a clean, wonderful patio space thanks to their efforts.
We will not hesitate to call them when we are ready to have our Liquid amber trimmed. The cost to remove the ficus was extremely reasonable, they are licensed and insured, and they obviously take pride in their work. They used the proper safety equipment, a body harness, and knew how to use it. This prevents accidents,(and impressed my hubs to no end).

Very very happy with Freddy’s tree service. Freddy came out to bid on the job, he came within the time frame, looked at all the work I needed done, and gave me an estimate. I like his honesty and the level of professionalism I felt. His bid was lower than the others but it was the competence and honesty that came thru. I scheduled for the service right away (usually I have to think about it). This felt right.
When the day came, his crew (all wearing company shirts) came in, the «foreman» guy spoke pretty good English, and we went over all the tree removals, tree trimmings, that I wanted them to do. They took time to understand HOW I wanted the tree trimmings to work. That was a first.
They were very professional, and went to work. They also cleaned up really nicely!!! There was a guy with the stump grinding truck so they hauled all the greenery away. And they finished before the 4 hour estimate.
Also they take checks for payment. That’s a real business, unlike many tree service who are cash only. Oh and his state license is active (I checked). Will use him again later on for continued service. Very very very happy !!!

For a tree guy, he is all I could ask for. Ive used him three times and have had his crew remove multiple trees from my property, do roof line clearance, prune trees, prune a overgrown banana, remove 50 feet of hedges, stump grinding, and remove a cactus. A couple of the large tree removals were very technical with my roof and fence in close proximity, and another with walls and power lines, but his crew was careful and had no issues whatsoever.
His crews work fast, and scheduling has never been an problem. His prices very reasonable. I usually get at least 1 other quote before I have work done and he has always been cheaper.
