Highly recommend this business. The check engine on my car was on and i have been in several places, they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I found Fred business in Unilocal and decided to bring my car here. Fred took a look at my car, explained me what was the problem, fix it, showed me the parts he replace. I found an excellent customer service, reliable, fast and very professional. His prices are very reasonable. I will definitely bring my cars in here. I rather have peace of mind every time i drive my family around.

I came here after seeing all these glowing reviews, and guess what? Fred deserves every one of these 5 stars! He is the friendliest mechanic I think i’ve ever met, and he was super professional, efficient, and honest! I brought my car in to get smogged, and I was out of there in less than 30 min, even with a car ahead of me. I will definitely be coming back here, and highly recommending this shop to everyone I know! Thanks Fred!

Found this place via Unilocal when I felt my brakes give (awful grinding when stopping) and knew I had to get them repaired immediately. Even though I couldn’t call ahead of time, he was able to take care of my car in a reasonable amount of time (given the short notice) and at a fair price. I will totally be coming back to have my Smog repairs done in the near future.

No wonder why this place gets a 5 stars with over a hundred reviews. I got there about 5 mins before the place closed and Fred was able to get my car smog in and out within 10 minutes. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to smog their cars.

I called Fred about STAR smogs for 2 vehicles. He was professional & courteous. I didn’t make it in until 1 week later & he honored the same pricing as before. His work was fast & efficient.
While I was waiting, another man came in for a smog & Fred was honest w/​him in informing the man’s car would not pass because the check engine light was on. Fred explained the process in detail & gave the man clear options. Both the man & I appreciated the honesty of Fred; it speaks to his character & work ethic. I will definitely recommend him to others.

Wow, it had been 3 years plus that we’ve been coming to this place. Still 5 stars service everytime for us. He would stay after hours for us to drop off our car, always give us reasonable quotes, and quick work! We brought in a used car recently for him to fix up. Next day, he called to let us know the work is done. He also told us that he found something else that needed to be fixed but he didn’t catch it when he first quoted us. So he fixed it for us for free. He said he doesn’t like calling and charging more money after customer and he already agreed on pricing. I thought that was very honest and great. Love Fred!

After googling multiple smog check places I came across High Tech Auto, and so glad I did. Not only was the price cheaper than any of the other places I came across, the service was fast and Fred was super kind and friendly, which you don’t seem to get a lot of from automotive places or in general and totally made my day. Awesome customer service! Definitely will be recommending this place to anyone I know and to anyone reading this!

Fred’s one cool cat: no nonesense honest, friendly and very experienced as a mechanic. Though I didn’t pass the smog with engine light on, the great customer service makes the price worthwhile as I was looking for a long term reliable auto service pad and not just a smog center which are everywhere. Will return in the future for my auto needs for sure!

Called in to see if he was busy around 10am and of course he has three cars to do smog checks on so I took my time to get ready and then I went over. It’s first come first serve so it’s better to be there and just wait. When I got there I had to wait for like 20 minutes because he was doing an oil change for this girl and he even checked her struts out for her since she mentioned it. Let me tell you something, other places would charge you 90 $+ to «diagnose» your car and he did it for free. He even diagnosed my car without charging me and it took him less than a minute to figure it out. He quoted me maybe he will be done by 430PM but I didn’t have a ride so I stuck around. He started at 12 and finished at 2 so thank goodness! He explained the whole thing to me and kept me up to speed with what happened and what he wAs doing and right when he finished and I turned on my engine I knew he fixed it. He gives a year warranty on it also so you can trust his work. Definitely will be recommending him to everyone and will be coming back for future needs! Fred is your man!

Fred was absolutely a pleasure to work with. He’s extremely knowledgable, friendly, and efficient. We brought two different cars to him to inspect before buying and not a single thing got past him. He identified unreported damage and was able to steer us away from a car that was misrepresented by the dealer. We can’t thank Fred enough for his great service and wonderful smile.

Simply amazing!
I found fred and his shop on Unilocal.I was like hmmm its near, might as well check it out.
I called ahead of time to inquire about the price. Fred was very professional and gave my a solid price out the the door. None of that around this around that you get from other people.
I pulled up and he was helping out another young man and right away he greeted me and let me know that he would get to me as soon as he could.
Im unsure if the young man ahead of me passed or not but fred was talking to him about the the vehicle and was dropping knowledge about the truck on what he can do to maintain it and keep it running longer.
Once it was my turn i pulled up into the port and fred began talking to me right away about my car asking me if i seen the new ones and how the car is an older car but is still a common car. While talking to me he was working on the car at the same time. I told him i had a check engine lights a week prior but it went away on its own and he explained how cars can correct itself and as long as it went away on its own i should be fine.
After what i felt was not even 10 min since we were talking so much he said i was good. I WAS SO HAPPY!
fred is a stand up guy. He mentioned he doesnt advertise much aside from whats on the building. He builds his business on honesty and integrity and apparently look how far it has gotten his business.
Will i come back if i have to? Yes i will.
Will i recommend this place to others? I already have.

I HIGHLY recommend this place for your car. Fred is extremely knowledgable and experienced with automobiles. He will go above and beyond to figure out the problem! Fred is honest, friendly, and down to earth unlike other mechanics out there. He explained the issue with my car in a way that I can understand. Another plus, he was also a model back then LOL but ladies (or gents) he’s happily married!

Honestly. Sweetest brake shop I could’ve come across considering I was freaking out about my brakes. My brakes had been groaning for about over a week (yes, my fault) so when I just couldn’t take it anymore, I called at 8AM on a Saturday (even though they don’t open till 9AM) and sure enough, Fred picked up and heard the panic in my voice when I just said «my brakes are awful, I don’t know what to do, can you take me in before 9?» he said if I could get there before 9AM he’d take me in before anyone else.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get there till about 9:30, but he took care of me as soon as I pulled up. Reassured me that he’d take me in as soon as another customer left. I didn’t know a thing about cars but he took a look at mine — asked for permission to drive it around to listen and feel what I’m talking about — opened the tires to my brakes and wanted me to look at what I was dealing with. He was so sweet in teaching me and showing me all the wear-​and-​tear of what I put my car through and gave me tips in knowing what not to do ever again.
Turns out I had to get both of my front rotors and brake pads replaced. Along with his service (plus the awesome mention of finding Fred on Unilocal and an extra discount of paying in cash) he got all in for me for just around $ 280 and got it all done for me within an hour!
Sweet and fast service. I’ll come back for all of my brake needs!

Amazing. I showed up here because of Unilocal reviews, this place looks like a junk yard. I sat in my car for 5 mins unsure where to park because it was congested. I finally got out, went to the office and talked to frank. I had talked to him prior to that, on the phone and he said he would be able to take my car in immediately.
My brake lights went out, they worked but the circuit was off which has happened before. He explained everything he was doing, showing me everything he was doing, so entirely thorough! He went the extra mile and made sure everything was intact and none other circuits were affected.
I would recommend this place to anyone. The service alone was amazing.
