Mimi’s Cafe

I would have not even put a star but it said I had too.
It took 15 mins for me to be annoyed enough to walk up to the host in the front from being sat in the very back corner to ask who our waiter was because we had not been approached. The hostess offered to get our drinks then our waiter just so happened to have come. I ordered an appetizer and my sister ordered the French dip and my friend could no longer order because of the long wait to be seated then no one attending our table.

I was ready to come on here and make the simple statement that «Mimi’s café doesn’t get enough credit»
Good menu good food nice environment. Food was good.
But Margaret was our server– VERY nice lady and I’m sure does her job very well– nothing personal here but she took our order and it took longer than we felt it should have. Dropped it off and that was about it. Offered the pepper and the condiments, I asked for butter and never saw her again. In fact we saw her leave (sat next to the window) never got my butter or a refill lol that was disappointing. We were offered a refill by someone who wasn’t even our server– and she ended up finishing the table off for Margaret so that was cool I guess. But Margaret never said goodbye or thank you or even brought the refill. That’s not cool. Again both ladies were nice enough but big picture it was too long of a wait and bad service.

From time we walked in, lots of empty tables. Nobody in hurry to clean. Hostess to busy talking to take out customer, manager sat us. 20 minutes after walking in. Ended up, getting up and getting own menus. Service really bad. On a Wednesday night. Will not be back.

Thank you so much to Mimi’s Café for welcoming our Coffee House Writers Group on Tuesday nights. It’s been a blessing to find such an excellent establishment for our very numerous crowd! The waitstaff are wonderful (and very prompt, even for our large group — quite impressive!), the food is delicious (after a cup of that corn chowder I immediately wanted 10 more!), and the space is clean and comfortable. I can’t think of a better place to hold our meetings.

I’m a member of the Coffee House Writers Group and we meet on Tuesdays in the back room. It’s a great place, the best food, clean and friendly, roomy too. Our server was a sweetie. Don’t miss this place. We are very grateful to have it as our «home» to meet in.

Food was good, but the service was too slow. The plates were wet and bread was hard. I don’t think I will be coming here anymore.

I’ve been going to this Mimi’s every week for the past few months as part of the Coffee House Writers Group. I must say that this has been an excellent venue for us. We are in a nice private banquet room, our server Kimmery is excellent, the food is good and well-​priced, and the staff have been more than welcoming. It’s nice to see a chain restaurant such as Mimi’s also being a good member of the local community.

I have been there often, a group of writers, myself included, meet there on Tuesday evenings. Our server, Kimmery (Kimberly?), is pleasant, and efficient. The atmosphere is nice, the backroom lit up for us, and they, at our request, suppress the music. It is a wonderful place to have a party, or a business meeting. (Just not on Tuesday night please?)

I am a member of a group called the Coffee House Writers Group. We meet here every Tuesday for a dinner meeting. We have been thrilled with our regular server, Kimmery. And are so appreciative of the extra mile many of the other staff have gone to in order to make us comfortable and happy. The food is great, and the atmosphere is cozy.

Over the past few months, mimi’s has stepped up their game. I’ve been consistently getting better service. Out with the old, in with the new??? Whatever it is, it’s working!

I’m waiting right here and there are a lot of tables open… Very very slow service on a tuesday 11 am.

Whenever my boyfriend and I visit his family in California we make sure that we hit up Mimi’s after Disneyland. I like that they provide a sweet bread with their regular bread before your meal. I usually get the grilled cheese. It has the most delicious cheesy crust. The last time I went, the waiter offered me a to go lemonade when we were done with our meal, which was a much appreciated gesture as we were heading back to Disneyland after our lunch and would much rather have more Mimi’s lemonade than spend another $ 5 on a Disneyland beverage.

For some reason this particular location seems a lil dirty inside. The waitress gave us a dirty plate for our bread, it was so disgusting there were sauces on top of the plate. She took forever to come back after she dropped off the bread and furthermore we waited over 20 minutes for her to pick up our card so we could pay until we gave up on got up to pay at the register. There were barely anybody dining last night. I’ve been to 3 other Mimi’s in the past and they all had higher standards in appearance and customer service and attention to detail.

Food was predictably good, restaurant was clean, music a bit loud, or server want very attentive to our needs, once food was dropped off we were forgotten… wanted dessert but was just given the check and didn’t get offered any… maybe they were having a bad help day,…

Bad experience, bad waiter, no manager approaches when food was bad, no comp, no thank you! Whats up here? Paid 17.99 for steak, could not eat, WAY too tough, but just did not care I guess

Great food and attentive service. I have never disappointed. No waiting whenever I’ve been here and that has been multiple times.

Nice clean restaurant, excellent customer service. The waiter was very nice. All of the food we ordered was very good. We got the pot roast and the baked brie appetizer which was excellent.
The only complaint I have is that the deviled egg trio was advertised all over the restauraunt but when we ordered it we were told they ran out of eggs.

The manager contacted me and promised to fix things and I’m still waiting. I guess promises mean nothing. Thanks for another let down.

I meant to write this review when we came here last time, but I’m easily distracted by shiny objects, like my wife’s pretty smile! Enough about me and my short comings, let me talk about one of our favorite chain restaurants, Mimi’s Café! I have yet to have a bad meal at Mimi’s!!! The service is always good and friendly, and the restaurant is always clean! The last time I was here I had the French Toast for the first time and it did not disappoint! Not only was it delicious, it was a good size portion, because I’m a big boy and I was full! I’m a coffee drinker, not by choice because I hate coffee, but I had an awesome Café Latte (forgot to take a pic both times, moron!). Our waitress Barbara (I hope I got her name right, it’s been awhile) slathered about 2″ of whipped cream on it, it was ridiculously sweet and loaded with caffeine, just the way I like it! Today our waitress Emily did an excellent job recreating it, God I wish I took a pic before I sucked it down.
The other thing that makes Mimi’s a favorite of mine is the diversity of their menu, I’m having chicken and waffles today. One time at the location in Northridge, they had a Eggs Benedict with steak on a multi grain English muffin, freakin outrageous! I’ll add my pics for historical reference!

I’ve been here a few times and have no complaints about the menu or the wait staff. Everything I’ve had was always great tasting and seasoned well. They greet you promptly if someone is there at the front, the wait staff is always friendly and efficient and come around to check to make sure everything is good and if you need anything during your meal. The last time, Shatoya was our waitress and she did a great job.
The only annoying negative issue is the lack of a privacy guard between the two urinals in the men’s restroom. They are too close together, probably only about six inches apart and very awkward if there is someone else standing there. You would think a privacy guard would be something the restaurant could easily have installed. Minus one star for that until it’s remedied but otherwise it’s always nice to have meals there.
Take their customer survey on the phone or website while you are there and you are given free muffins or chocolate croissants to take home as a token of their appreciation.

Love the Pain Perdu for breakfast.
