Lisa Marie and Richard are such wonderful souls and I feel honored to have found them. We contacted Lisa Marie the second we found out we were pregnant and they guided us throughout our home birthing journey. They are so knowledgeable and make you feel like family instantly. I cannot imagine my birthing experience any different. It was so beautiful and felt so right. Lisa Marie and Richard worked like a synchronized duo making everything very pleasant for me. Her energy alone changes the room to such a peaceful environment. I cannot thank them enough for guiding us through this magical journey! They really are angels.

Sacred Journey Midwifery truly does God’s work. The dedication and sincere care they provide is nurturing and very healing. Lisa Marie is intuitive and has a beautiful and wholesome approach to birthing and babies. Giving birth becomes once more, as it was once understood, a magnificent gift, it is our legacy as women. I felt privileged to be a woman and empowered in that honor. The beauty of my body surpassed all of the voices in the culture that encourage us to be at war with our bodies. Instead, it became a lovely vessel, feminine, and awe inspiring.
The care Lisa Marie gave was so tender. I can sum up our birth experience with them as one of healing. Healing from a previous birth experience at a hospital for me and my husband, as well as for my 2 year old daughter. And healing from generations worth of unhealthy family life and tendencies. This is because it nurtured and allowed for us to deepen our new understanding of life, family, and the human person. Richards presence was also surprisingly healing in the Father wound area of my soul. There was strength in his hard work; sincerity in his sacrifice for my good; and honor and respect for me as a woman and the sacred process of birth. His patience and kindness left a mark in me.
But very importantly, Lisa Marie is also very skilled. We prudently were able to avoid a transfer, which would have been very emotionally and physically damaging. Lisa Marie knew this, so she worked tirelessly to ensure my wellbeing. In addition, she was very well prepared and had all of the necessary equipment.
But my greatest joy from the whole journey is I can say that the ones who benefited the most were my children. It greatly helped my 2 year old who used to struggle with terrible separation anxiety, among other things, from her birth at a hospital. She still talks about the experience and asks for Ms. Lisa Marie to come and «check her baby» (Lisa Marie always included her in the prenatal appointments and asked her to participate). And our 5 month old is such a peaceful, secure, and happy baby.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have lived this event in our lives with Lisa Marie and Richard. They helped us see that pregnancy and birthing truly are a Sacred Journey.

I had 2 unique experiences with Lisa Marie:
First, my sister and I were pregnant together (she was 4 months ahead of me) and both used Lisa Marie as our midwife, so I got to attend her homebirth, with Lisa as her midwife. It was amazing to witness Lisa’s calm demeanor and empathetic and compassionate approach to her client during this birth. I was present at all of my sister’s other children’s birth’s as well (except for 1 c-​section). My sister is known to not handle pain well, and during one of her labors I witnessed her looking like a wild animal, screaming, howling in pain, begging for drugs, and completely out of control. During her pregnancy with Lisa Marie they had built a safe and trusting relationship that was evident during the birth. My sister drew strength from Lisa’s presence and encouragement. My sister was calm, in control, and felt totally safe during her whole labor and birth. She had a successful VBAC at home. It was a beautiful experience. Lisa Marie’s gift of midwifery and overall approach to childbirth helped my sister achieve something she had longed for for since she had her first horrible hospital birth experience 15 years prior. A positive, natural birth experience.
Second, my experience with Lisa Marie as my midwife was my second homebirth and second experience with a midwife. The first time I did not know what I was looking for in a midwife. I didn’t know what I would need throughout the process. I thought experience was the only thing that mattered, so I chose a midwife with 30+ years of experience. I couldn’t quite place what was missing during all the months of my prenatal care. I’m not a super emotionally needy person, nor am I a touchy feely person so I thought if my midwife can assist me in having a successful homebirth safely, that’s all I need, and she’ll have done her job. I was so wrong. I had my daughter safely at home, but my experience with my midwife during the labor and birth was terrible. She was disconnected from what was happening with me, she seemed annoyed that I wasn’t progressing faster and ended up encouraging me to push (something that Lisa Marie will NEVER do!!) for 5 hours! My midwife insisted that I move out of the birthing pool, where I was comfortable and wanted to deliver the baby because she was at an in inconvenient angle.
Everything about Lisa Marie was night and day different from my first pregnancy and birth. She truly cares about building relationships with her clients so that she’ll know how to best anticipate and tend to their needs during labor and birth. Her presence at my birth made me feel 100% safe and cared for. She had all the right words to calm and encourage me. It was amazing that she was able to care for both my sister and I so completely, and yet uniquely different, as each of our personality and needs are different. Choosing the right midwife makes all the difference during your labor and birth. With Lisa Marie as my midwife she empowered me to be able to deliver my second baby into my own arms in water. It was one of the most special moments of my life, and I will always be grateful to Lisa for giving me this treasured gift.
Lastly, a word about Richard and Lisa Marie as a birthing team. They work perfectly together! Their rhythm with one another is like a brilliant dance. They run the after birth clean up like a well oiled machine (my husband and mom did all the clean up after my first birth). Like Lisa Marie, Richard has a presence that inspires confidence. He makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. These are 2 wonderful people to know and work with. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the experience of having worked with them.

My pregnancy and delivery, although difficulty at times, was and is the most precious experience of my life. Our joinery would not be complete without Lisa Marie’s wisdom, insight, love, and care.
Under her guidance she empowered my husband and I with endless knowledge. With every visit we grew more confident and more excited in our ability to have a «hands off» home birth.
Lisa also kept track of my nutrition and adjusted it as needed. Whether I needed to cut back on sweets, eat more protein, drink more/​less water and so on.
It is truly amazing to meet someone who is doing exactly what they were put on this earth to do. I’m so thankful Lisa Marie and Richard are obedient to the calling God has put on their hearts.
The labor and delivery of our sweet baby girl is a memory I will always remember as the best day of my life. There’s no thank you big enough to thank Lisa and Richard for giving me this beautiful gift.

I am not one to write long and detailed reviews so i will be breif and to the point. This was my first pregnancy. Lisa is the best midwife ever she has a gift for caring for mamas and birthing babies. I never doubted for one minute being under her care. I seen her throughout my entire pregnancy. If looking for a midwife stop looking and call her.

Lisa Marie is such a special person to myself along with my entire family. I was 38 weeks when my husband and myself decided that having a home birth was for us. We had met with a few different midwives and were questioning if we would find the right one in time. After meeting with Lisa Marie we felt so confident with our decision in choosing her. On my due date July 6^th, 2014, my Husband along with my Father and Brother in law passed away in a horrific plane accident. It being the absolute worst day of my life, Lisa Marie and her Husband/​Partner were there for me. She was not only there for me but she was also there for my Sister who was also pregnant and in her 20^th week. She was a calming sense that we needed so desperately. She is the definition of calm, loving, caring. The following week on July 13^th, 2014 I went into labor. Lisa Marie was there within the hour. This was my second birth and first home birth. Myself and Lisa Marie, along with 4 other women were in my room. Lisa Marie was very connected with me in those moments. She knew when I was in discomfort, when I didn’t want to be touched, and when I wanted it quiet just by looking at me, it was pretty amazing. She was my inner voice that i didn’t have with me. After birthing my 8 Pound 8 ounce little baby girl she took such great care of me. She was so beyond gentle with my little baby girl along with myself. I needed couple stitches and I felt little to no pain. She came back a few times to check on myself and my little girl and she did amazing with the newborn screening. I would most definitely recommend her and have to many pregnant women wanting a home birth. I am sure I will be having another little one some day in the future and will absolutely have her be there by my side.

It was such a pleasure working with Lisa Marie! She was compassionate, knowledgeable, and overall amazing. I came to her late in my pregnancy, but she made up all the intended visits. I tried to learn as much as I could about home birth/​water births before signing up, but she still taught me new things all the time. My husband and I really loved my check-​ups because we felt a stronger connection our baby. Lisa Marie always made sure we were comfortable and felt at ease. She got along well with my dog, gave information on how she might react, and tips for the dog to accept baby into the family.
When it came to the big day I unfortunately went into labor after someone else. I was made aware of the slight possibility from our first meeting, especially because I was a week late, but she had a wonderful team in her place. She still took time that night to see me and help with my labor. She gave suggestions and made adjustments to help manage labor pains.
I live in an apartment and ran into some obstacles with my landlords about doing a home birth. Lisa Marie gave me the information I needed to overcome.
The after care was just as superb as prenatal. She helped get me in touch with a lactation consultant and an excellent pediatric dentist where I got my little one’s tongue tie fixed. She encouraged me and my husband step by step. I highly recommend her to anyone interested. 5 stars couldn’t possibly cover how happy my experience was!

Lisa Marie is a very knowledgeable and caring midwife with years of experience. She works hard to support her couples in their quest for a natural birth and teams with other birth professionals to provide couples with the preparation and knowledge they need to make great decisions. I wish I had Lisa Marie with me when I had my babies!
