Cash only, filthy inside. Cheap food though that isn’t bad. Good for breakfast. Please take note that the location appears to be closed and might be under construction or torn down soon, as of 11÷11÷15.

Looked like the old coffee shop when I was growing up. I went ahead and order the chicken fried steak breakfast for $ 6.99. Yeah $ 6.99…so I wasn’t expecting much. The chicken fried steak was hand breaded. Not the typical manufactured throw it in the fryer and serve it. But anyway it was delicious, the biscuits and gravy was fresh. My only complaint was the hashbrowns could have been crisper… But for $ 6.99im not complain. Thanks if I’m ever black in town I’ll be back.

Delicious food. Chicken fried steak was great. Also tried the pancakes which were light and fluffy and delicious. Definitely a good alternative if you couldn’t make it in to the original pancake house.

where to start… cash only, atm at the gas station next door. cool retro décor, but needs a little tlc. the service was not terrible, just non existent. all of the employees looked like they hated being there, and the customers were more of a nuisance. we waited 10 minutes before they took our drink order, and we never got all of our drinks. the guy that took our drink order couldn’t take our food order, so we waited and waited and waited, never put in our food order. left after 20 minutes. can’t comment on the food.

My husband and I must have driven past this place thousands of times, so one morning we decided to give it a try. We were actually very pleasantly surprised! I ordered French toast and eggs and a decaf coffee. Everything was really good, and the prices are amazing! A little over $ 5 for breakfast – can’t beat it! The building definitely needs updating inside and outside, but for the price, we didn’t mind. The service was great, too! Our waitress was fast and very friendly. This place is a great alternative to The Pancake House if you dont feel like paying their prices and waiting a super long time. The quality isn’t quite as good, of course, but it’s excellent for the price!

Horrible. Just save your time and don’t come here. Food is awful, I suppose that’s why it’s so cheap. Service sucks. Waitress was super rude. And to top it off, the coffee tasted funny. Never coming here again.

This place is typical of the phrase you get what you pay for. It’s super old and dirty inside not in a cool retro way, but in a «needs remodeled way. Food is $ 5 a plate during the breakfast special hours of operation. Food is decent for the price. Where else can I spend $ 7 and get a waffle two strip of bacon an egg and cup of coffee???

Bland, cold food. I came to have breakfast and ordered a simple breakfast of orange juice, pancakes, eggs and sausage. The eggs were stone cold, the sausage was extremely rubbery and the strawberries I ordered on the side to add to the pancakes were literraly frozen. The food Is very inexpensive and it shows in the poor cooking and service you get.

Use to come here a lot with my mom as a child. It’s an awesome place with reasonable prices and great for all ages. Lastly, the food is worth dripping saliva over.

I reported to the manager at the cash register that the women’s restroom was out of toilet paper. A few minutes later he came to our table to hand me 3 rolls of toilet paper.

Pretty good, great prices. First off, I called in my order for pick up, ready in 20 min. The lady on the phone was oriental, and it was kinda hard to communucate, between us, but because we both«wanted» to help each other it worked out and order came out right! I got 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns. The special comes with ham, but opted for more bacon. Now, I think I’m a picky person, particular, or maybe I just want to get my monies worth. Let’s say the bacon was good, not greasy, thick enough to enjoy, not that issh you find on a jack in the box breakfast sandwich. Sausage was good, good flavor, tastes like sausage not that fake mushy issh you’d find at Norms. Eggs we’re just right, not watery, not dry. Hash browns, good. They were cooked, not crispy, raw and of course no restaurant puts salt or pepper on your eggs or hash browns for you, so when I added that perfecto! Now on to the pancakes. Some pancakes, just taste like pancakes and their are some that are mmmm. They«were» regular pancakes, BUT! I could taste a hint of buttermilk. Made my experience even better. To some it up, food, price, over all. $ 24.00 for 3 of this breakfast!

NEGATIVE10STARS! I had to select a star to post this! We had the WORST dining experience of our lives! I really have to hand it to the waitress for handling the verbal abuse and the lack of cooperation from the kitchen. When asked to speak to the owners about the HOUR wait for the first plate, missing food, half of our meal 15 minutes after the first plate was brought, and cold I might add, his response was to yell at our poor waitress that he refused to discount our meal when half of it was missing and they had run out of it. UNBELIEVABLE!

I have to say that the food here is excellent for the price, that’s it for the price! I have to say it’s cute because it’s a very vintage looking dinner and it’s owned I believe by a couple whom if I may add work there. I have to say that the customer service is horrible, the man that seats you is always very rude as well as the waitresses they are not very friendly and I do understand they are busy on weekends. PEOPLELOVESTEWART’S! But they should be friendlier to keep their customers. The coffee is great as well as the OJ and for the most part they are very fast. Another thing I must add as they are cash only and if you go please remember or read the sign before you get there. The little man that seats you gets really annoyed and yells to tell you its CASHONLY!

Okay. It saddens me to be critical of a place that is so visually vintage, like a Denny’s circa 1972, with red vinyl booths and truly friendly staff and… Okay, so I’m not a hater. No axe to grind. The breakfasts are usually the best deal(but not the steak, I’ll explain later), and they are almost 70’s prices which is cool, but lately this place has sadly taken on an almost institutional flavor. Like hospital food. I know, I’m sad to even write this because for years I’ve been championing the fact that this divey-cool place is still breathing and because of this, giving them my business as much as possible. The existence of such a place happily stuck in time is a petulant middle finger to all the ubiquitous franchise monotone mediocrity that surrounds us. Recently I met a friend for breakfast. Yeah, it was weird. The food was just… unappetizing. My friend’s steak wasn’t rare, it was raw. I begged my cohort to send it back. In the weeks since this happened, we refer to this as, The Misteak. The eggs were fine. The hash browns were barely cooked and oily. The coffee was weird. It was as if suddenly everything had dropped in quality and it was profound. The food made me feel a bit ill. A few weeks later another cohort wanted to go there. I forgot about The Misteak and agreed without a thought. This time I ordered a cobb salad. I think it had pickles on it. They make their own croutons and they are deep fried pieces of probably stale bread and greasy as hell. I think it came with a fruit cup. I think it came with a bunch of pieces of iceberg normally thrown away. All the ingredients were arranged neatly. Nothing was horrible. But everything was still off. My friend was unhappy too with a soggy tuna sandwich, something they usually do pretty good in a small town coffee shop kind of way. It struck me in a unique moment of clarity, this was like prison chow. How I could know this is a mystery, but I was sure they had fired the regular cook and hired a mean old lunch lady or some sadistic prison matron; someone who can basically open a can of fruit but who possesses no other culinary expertise or knowledge about how to make proper coffee shop fare. This is sad. I have always loved this place. Even when an old guy backed his huge truck into my car even though ours were the only two cars in the lot at the time near closing time. I will try to give this place another chance because it’s such a kooky weird and cool looking place compared to all the boring familiar crap like IHOP or crappy Denny’s. The staff is always super nice. Watch out where you park, though. And make sure they cook the meat so you don’t make the same misteak we did.

It’s really difficult to find a restaurant with such low prices. Several specials are priced at $ 6.00 and below. I’ve come here a few times and the place is a decent size. There is plenty of parking space. The waitresses have all been friendly. My favorite item to order is the Chicken fried steak that comes with eggs, hash browns and toast. The amount of food given is good and it taste great. Ive also orderd the cowboy special which comes with pancake, hash browns, eggs, bacon, sausage and ham. All this for $ 6.50. I would come back again. I have never tried lunch or dinner but breakfast is good.

THISPLACEISCASHONLY! Okay, now that that’s out of the way, you won’t come unprepared. This place is a decent spot to grab some inexpensive no frills breakfast. I had to drive a few blocks top get some cash, but props to them for putting a sign up when you first walk in so you avoid the trouble later on. On to the food! I ordered off their breakfast specials menu which had a decent amount of options. I chose the country fried steak and eggs special with biscuits and gravy and some coffee. Coffee was standard dinner coffee, but good. Biscuits came out, the gravy was okay, but some pepper and tapatio made it pretty good. The chicken fried steak was crispy and tasted good too with pepper and tapatio to jazz up the gravy again. Eggs and hash browns were cooked perfectly and were excellent! All of which only cost me $ 9.01! What a deal! There was only one server that early in the morning, an older Asian woman and she was so nice! Very friendly and attentive, without being over attentive. She was always on top of coffee and water refills and overall just excellent at her job. The restaurant itself had a worn in retro feel. Everything was clean, it just looked really old. I found it charming. I hope to have a chance top come back here in the future. Its by my work, but I take public transit so I never pass by here except for the rare occasions when I drive.

Talk about a Blast from the Past. Pleasantly surprised, glad I gave this Anaheim landmark a chance! Alot reviews will tell you that Stewart’s is «retro» — but I think that we all need to agree what«retro» is first before we call it that. I would imagine more of Johnny Rocket’s feel with stainless steel barstools and white tile; but not Stewart’s Coffee Shop. From my assessment, it looks like they re-did the interior sometime in the 80’s and have kept it that way ever since. The way the restaurant was decorated really didn’t flucuate my review of the place, because either way I found it very«home-like». Kinda like when you would visit your grandma’s house and she’d cook for you — THAT my friends is how I felt the feel of the place to be. Whatever it is — you can still definitely call the place a «Diner», AND — a very affordable one at that! $ 4.00-$ 10.00 a meal — WITHTIP. The counter nearly ran the entire length of the restaurant and there aren’t any tables! Just booths and a counter. Kinda cool, actually. It was seriously busy, and any party over 4 would have to wait longer because that would mean you would need more than one booth to accomodate yourselves. But once you do sit down, the waitresses are very sweet — even though we got them on a Sunday just at the peak of breakfast time. I never had to ask for more coffee and they would come to check up on our table every 20 mins or less. If there were just a few things that made the whole experience lose points for me, it would be the amount of wait time to get your food. About 30 mins for a table of 4. No kidding. If the waitress didnt check in twice, we would be more peeved, but once the food got to us, it was nicely done, more homestyle than restaurant style cooking. Just like grandma used to make it! A paint job would actually BENEFIT this place. A little re-vamp would do wonders! Can’t say the same for the restrooms though… Eek. On a final note: CASHONLY. Don’t say that I didn’t tell ya so.

Yay! I’m a FAN of this way old school diner! Yup the interior looks the same as it did in 1967. If you say, «Yay! I’m a fan.» That doesn’t mean SHIT in Unilocal, does it? Let’s face it. The mostly all American menu here is mediocre. All though they got Habachi Chicken & Spanish Omelet whatever that is. Who cares I come here for the most important meal of the day! Breakfast, or that’s what the goverments been telling me all these years. I still believe that the food pyramid is an Inca /Mayan trick to eat more eggs. Coffee is so so,(sorry Juan Valdez) lack of flavor but that’s what Sweet n Low and creamer is for… Beakfast menu is nothing special but got a lot of frugal deals. Cross that out, it got a lot of CHEAPASS deals. My fav is the Chicken Fried Steak & eggs plate! I likes CFS’s! Numereo uno on the breakfast scale of stuff for me.
but I like the«C» too.
Both fill my belly up! Happy belly! The food seems to be getting a little smaller every year, maybe I am getting bigger? And, most of all, it’s cheap cheap, cheapo!
Don’t think they got a single menu Item over 8 bucks! But, I am a real FAN of Stewarts. No poser here man. I need a place like here. It’s walking distance. But I never walk ‘cuz I’m too effin lazy! I don’t have to take a shower to get the breakfast here. I could go there in my pajamas. If I wore any. They don’t care if I comb my hairs. I don’t even brush my teeth to come here sometimes. They don’t care about my loud belch or farts. Even my kids prefer this joint over I-hop or some other overpriced place ‘cuz they can belch and fart too! Look she’s squeakin’ one out! Chip off the ol’ block! Love you baby! I don’t need to care for having not enough tips, I can make it up next time. Damn I forgot my wallet. They spotted me till next time. Thanks Maimie. I need this place, man. I need it ‘cuz I am a local freakin’ lazy ass bum. But, I am a regular. They still let me in, and smile at me too. They know my order by heart. Even my name … Roy’er with a Chinese accent. Hop Sing and Julio the cooks even make other stuffs my kids likes too.
Oh yea they got beer two for Sunday after church! Never ordered one ‘cuz they look pretty old and faded Humm If only they had bloody Marys or Miosa’s on Sunday mornings … I never met Stewart but I’m sure I’d like this guy. I am a FAN! I’ll be back!
