FIREARMSOWNERSBEWARE — DEPLORABLEGUNSMITHING&TERRIBLEWORK In my 30+ years in the firearms hobby, this has hands down been the worst experience I’ve had with a firearms plating company. I decided to get the slide on my brand new XDS.45 «duraplated» and sent it to Techplate with an estimated 2 – 4 week turn-around time. After 7 weeks, I received my slide back damaged beyond repair by some very obvious and horrendous gunsmithing. Whoever removed my gunsights before and reinstalled them following the plating process did not use a sight pressing tool, but rather beat them back into place using a hammer and punch! The sights were dinged up with the point of the punch and the moron chipped and displaced metal on the top edge of sight groove of the slide itself! What kind of reputable firearms service would allow this pathetic gunsmithing??? I emailed Marshall photo’s of the damage and he acknowledged the horrible work, was very apologetic and promised to «make it right». However, after a few days the trail went cold and my emails and calls went unanswered. My credit card would not offer any refund protection because this was a «service» and not a product purchase. So, now I am left with a damaged and devalued firearm as well as future costs to replace the dinged up sights. Yes, Marshall… remember me? You can look for other reviews on various Gun Forums and you can bet I’ll let the boys at Turners and Fieldtime know how you treated me.

I’ll keep this short. they do what they do(plate/polish/coat/et) well… I had them polish my raw(7075-T6 aluminum) AR10 lower. This may sound like a simple task, but since it was once a «80% lower» not too many places would touch it. If you’re not familiar w/80% lowers, Google it. Finished product had a mirror finish and looked great. I almost don’t wanna shoot it because of the finger prints I’ll leave. Only downside was the turn time. I dropped it off 12⁄5 and received it 12⁄23. But I guess you get what you pay for :) over all happy with my choice to go with tech plate.

This company has great customer service and quality control, and if you read the«filtered review» you will see that I am not the only one that thinks so. It is also one of the few plating shops in California with an FFL license. P. S. Gerry L, if you’re going to write reviews, at least learn to spell first.

Absolutely great and professional service without a doubt. Heard great word of mouth reviews but was honestly a bit worried due to previous review. Decided to take chance anyways on having my pistol nickel and gold plated. They estimated around 7 week turn around time, actually finished in 4 weeks. work is absolutely amazing and show quality. Price was right and will definitely be working with them again. Highly recomended and amber provided super great customer service. answered all questions I had. 5 Stars.
