Vallarta Supermarkets

Went in to get a few things. It was my first time at the location. While I was there I thought I’d go pick up some posole for dinner. Big mistake. I payed $ 6.50 for what amounted to mainly broth. There was no posole in the soup! I mean do you have to request it here or what? Especially when that’s the name of the dish! I’ve never run into this problem before. They also give you lettuce instead of cabbage on the side. That’s weird to me as well. Cabbage is about as cheap as lettuce so why skimp? I didn’t discover any of this until I was home. Normally I’m really pleased with buying food at Vallarata, but not this time. I could have spent the same amount of money elsewhere and got a better bowl. As it was the broth was pretty flavorless.

Great prices & a wide selection of mexican & central american products & goodies! Their full service deli counter serves great tacos & other yummy meals. The marinated carne asada & chicken from the butcher is very good. Their fresh made tortillas & bolillos (rolls) are always delicious & warm. Their fresh baked pan dulce (sweet bread) is nothing great & I often see flies landing on the bread. I brought it up to the store manager’s attention once; and she immediately addressed the situation by tossing the affected bread. The store employees are very courteous & most are bilingual. Except most of their butchers don’t speak English.

This supermarket resembles Northgate with the mostly Hispanic candies, music, people. It was maybe a few cents higher than Northgate, it definitely had more frozen food than the typical Northgate market does, which I appreciated. I am definetly coming back here: it is 2 blocks from my new home and it is affordable. If you want to buy fresh cheese, mexican chips/​candies and other groceries, this is your place.

Disappointed that a supermarket doesn’t carry Rottel, Ranch style beans without Jalapeño, and Velveeta. Those were 3 out of 4 ingredients I needed, and they didn’t carry any of it. So very disappointed.

Ordered tamales but the store mismanaged their quantities and had to settle for half a dozen of tamales I did not order. Service was very poor and the kitchen area had a significant pool of water on the floor just waiting for an accident to happen. Very disappointed

I love this grocery store but they really really REALLY need to invest in new shopping carts!!! It is a hassle finding a working shopping cart to put my baby in! They are all literally falling apart

Most unprofessional ghetto market ive ever been to. The cashiers goof around and talk about innapropriate things at the register to each other. I called the bakery about a mistake they made on a cake and the so called bakery manager never got back to me and she acted like she didnt care. Horrible customer service.

Good market to meet all my Mexican shopping needs. They have a good meat counter and pretty good Mexican deli with lots of good choices.

I had a torta cubana and my wife had a taco de asada at their food court … Pretty good can’t complain

Came here for dinner and bought a al pastor torta. Meat wasn’t marinated enough. No sour cream or avocados like in the pictures description. Lady who helped me didn’t know what I was saying when I asked for a fork so she started speaking to me in Spanish very loud. Another worker had to come and stop here and help me out. Just didn’t feel comfortable and food could’ve been better.

Great Hispanic flavored market … Interesting that they don’t carry fresh coffee beans … Is that an Anglo thing really? Anyway, friendly and helpful staff and choice Mexican deli.

Sandra s you Must of went when they first open I would be interested to see your house if you called these people clean or having OCD this place is far from clean and people here dare mentioning quality !!! Where the hell did you shop before and why would you give them your business they sold rotten onions to me when I ate there the beans taste funny like the were border line going rotten. The quality of the food they are selling is pretty gross Vallarta is pretty consistent on selling poor almost rotten ing food

I went to go buy meat so Butcher gave my meat and then I ask for some more meat he said I would have to get back in line he was so rude thin I went to the cashier and told her she was rude is well well not be shopping there a again there so lousy on customer service

Excellent Hispanic grocery — love the Mexican panderia and meat section. As well as, chillies, veggies, and fruits. A real treat to have next door to our hotel.

Great place to have lunch in the food court.
So far, after two visits, staff has been friendly and helpful.

So, I was buying cactus salad and asked this girl for half a pound, she almost gave me a whole pound so I told her «hey, I just want half a pound». You are not going to believe her response… She said «I’m tired and don’t have time for this». So I said «it is your job to serve and have the time so just give me half a pound»… Unbelievable. Other than that, it’s a good grocery store

Worst «mexican» food ever. Burritos taste like straight out the freezer. I will never ever go back. Won’t eat here again even if it would be free. Save your money!!!

These people have OCD!
This store is so clean and organized, it’s unbelievable! I love it!
All the items on the shelves are pointed in the same direction, the labels are facing the front, the floors, counters, and shelves are clean. They are constantly restocking so there’s no gaps or empty spaces on the shelves. The produce is aligned perfectly and the the prices and names match up with it’s supposed to go with. Hmmmm… maybe I’m the one with OCD and that’s why I notice these little things & maybe that’s why I love this store so much??! Either way all stores & supermarkets should learn from Vallarta!
The food in the food court is fresh and tasty! Everything that I’ve tried, quesadillas, roasted chicken, carnitas, carne asada, ceviche, salsas, guacamole, have all been good!
Clean, organized, great prices, fresh food/​produce, helpful workers, ample parking, one-​stop-​shop for all of your household needs! No complaints at all!

Stopped in here on impulse couple of weeks ago when I saw the grand opening banner. Guess its grand opening all year Ha Ha Ha.
Very circus like atmosphere. Bright colors everywhere. But once your eyes adjust to it you’ll see that your not at Vons or Ralphs or Kansas anymore Toto.
Go to Court
First off is the food court, lots of south of the border ready to eats. I spent a while strolling and browsing but I had just finished lunch so I didn’t partake in any of the fares to be had. Will make sure to go on an empty stomach next time.
Meat & Fish
Very good selection of fresh and prepared stuff. I couldn’t resist the shrimp ceveche or the marinated chicken leg meat. Both were very tasty. Also picked up some country style pork ribs to freeze for another time. Good price.
Extras
Also picked up a qt. of fresh pico de gallo and some freshly made torts for the chicken. Good,& Good. Also noticed that they had a decent tequila selection.+1
PRODUCE!
The produce here was off the hook. Seriously I’ve only seen this much fresh produce at the middle eastern market by Anaheim Hills. They also had a large selection of dried peppers and spices. I bought a few to refill my stock.
Clean and Friendly
Clean store and the folks working here all seemed friendly and were helpful when asked for anything.
Going back tomorow… can’t wait
